soloshot3 tag disassembled inside
The power button on my tag stopped working. it updates fine, and the other button still works. display is fine
Without the power button it is useless (sad!) so I opened it to see if it was easy to fix.
short video attached in case you have to do something similar, hopefully it helps avoid breaking the charging/comms flex cable. The rest is probably useless.
in the end turns out the button wasn't making contact properly. I super glued it and reinforced the soldering and it seems better now.
Working on making it waterproof again now...

This video shows how ton light a very old gas furnace which instead of having a single dial to control on/off and pilots it has the gas and pilot control separate. That seems to be slightly diff from other tutorials online. disclaimer: i am not a professional, follow these instructions at your own risk.

I’ve watched it several times, pure beauty, fantastic, grace! No matter what country, they are delightful to watch.
The music isn't properly synced. You can really, really feel it at the end. The musicality is off.

I watched Yagudin skating “Winter”, another really memorable performance. Although I don’t think he had quite as much charisma as Plushy! It was a real shame he had to retire early. Their rivalry was great, it spurred them both on to be the best they could be!

Hi Rodrigo, thanks for sharing this, this exactly my issue with the tag; it won’t turn on. Just wanted to know, once you opened the case how did you actually fix the button? and is your tag still watertight for all this time after the repair?
Just in case it helps: To confirm it was the power button I fiddled with the other button one while connecting the tag to the base and confirmed i could get it into download mode, and the display would turn on etc. Make sure it's the button because messing with it (: That said, I'll answer your questions. > how did you actually fix the button? I ended up lifting the white-ish button module (shown here th-cam.com/video/dYPg_ZX2DFs/w-d-xo.html) from the cable that connects it to the brains of the tag. The "cable" is actually the 2 traces built into the brown plastic/isolating thing (I don't know tech term for this type of cable). The problem was that one of those traces wasn't properly soldered to the button. The white-ish square has the mechanical part of the button, and underneath it there are endpoints where the traces attach to. I got it to work, but I'm not sure how long it will last, those buttons are not designed to be messed with, and my soldering is fairly basic. > is your tag still watertight Probably not, I'd add hot glue or put it inside a watertight (but thin to not block signals) bag. That'll likely make it not fit in the armband, so probably annoying. I haven't actually taken it into the water. I ended up reaching out to support and they sold me (for cheap compared to tag price) a returned tag one which had some issues with the display but was still functional and you could read the display ok anyway.
@@RodrigoRosa thanks, seems like I will have to compromise the tag’s water tightness although for water is precisely what I use it for. Definitely not happy with the product.

@@marcass100 it works yes, the button was the problem. But I'm not sure how long my fix will last, nor if I'll manage to make it waterproof again (will probably order another since I use this for surf)

So my battery in my tag is going bad, how hard was it to split the case? Battery should be a standard single cell lipo so easy to source.
