I was 24 in the 70s. I still listen to that music. There is nothing out there that can compare!
a la différence, elle a changé Hallah en Dieu, après avoir eu des menace de mort!
Love and respect.
Lyrics are not accurate in all places.
For those of us born in the 60s/70s we’re just now experiencing having grandbabies our kids are often married. We understand the blessings now of grandchildren, but we live in a world that has changed drastically since technology has taken over. We are truly the last generation to teach this song and when I say this, I mean it and all good ways if you grew up on the word, going to church had really great grandparents which most of us kids and those days did that came with a set of morals? And once we go, our wisdom goes. We’re already losing the right free speech our countries in a state of chaos. It looks like a foreign country and don’t get me started on anyone who practices religion because that’s becoming an occult. But if you were raised right, you know what I’m talking about. Love this song share it, share it with children share it with grandchildren. Teach them well and they’ll grow up to be good.! 🙏❤️✌️
This is a prophetic guide to life ... Why cant we follow it ?
The fact that Jerry played the steel in the studio for this tune is greatness.
RIP Croz ❤️🕊
Loooove you sooo much guys ❤ you always ease my pain 😢❤ 1:38
My favorite version of this song!!!! Their harmonies off the charts always, but sounded extra incredible here !!!!! Omg ❤❤❤
Unfortunately, being a parent is the only job for which there are no requirements, other than knowing how to make children.
It’s the melody of this song that draws me in. The lyrics don’t make sense.
I always dug them. Always will. Respect
One of the greats ❤
I have been so blessed my children and my family and great nieces and nephews and my awesome grandchildren
I Love You Tasha ,Jude And Lucy 💯☺️

This song always makes me cry-without fail ❤️
I remember covering this tune in the 1980s at coffee houses when I was teaching at the time. Parents today should pay attention to the lyrics.
I am a 71 year old Mexican and in 1970 this song reached Mexico City with the other music of the 60's and 70's like the Beatles, John Denver, The Byrds, and though I didn't know the words, it touched my spirit. I heard this song recently and could understand the lyrics. It brought the tears to my eyes. Now that I am a grandfather, this song resonates deeply in my heart. Graham Nash's lyrics had the wisdom of a much older man.
We grandfathers should sing to our grandkids everyday. Even if they don't want to listen to us. They'll soon listen!!
Thank you Mr. Mexican. I'm a grandfather in England. Music does touch our spirit! Our grandkids are a total joy.
Kind of the opposite happened to me. I’m a Canadian from Vancouver and back in the 90s I was in Cozumel in a restaurant when a Mariachi band came in and started playing in front of my table. It was all older guys except the singer was this little kid. Im telling ya, this band played so beautifully I couldn’t believe it, however I knew zero Spanish. I actually started tearing up and couldn’t understand why. Nothing makes me cry. I started learning Spanish and although not perfectly, enough to basically understand and speak. Now that I know so many of the Mexican standards, to this day I wonder what that song was that they played that got to me like that.
Brings me back home……so many years ago
I got married at 16 in 1970! Husband left 2 weeks later for Basic Training and then in December, left for Viet Nam! The music during that time takes me back! Will never forget!
Blessings... 🎉
Those were golden memories of CSN
Absolutely! No music can hold a candle to this magical stuff now.
Hope it made it back home.
Did your husband teach those VietMinh kids well with napalm?
This song touches my heart even tho I was to young to notice when it first came out, I first heard it in the late 70’s. Even so it touched me then and it still touches me today. Such a awesome piece of work. I l have loved CS&N ever since I first heard them in late 70’s. Never made a bad tune. Rest easy David 🕊🙏🎸🕊🙏🎸🕊🙏🎸🕊🙏🎸🕊🙏🎸🕊🙏🎸
This goes beyond music. This is pure magic. No one writes like this anymore. Shame.
Oh, the 70's were so hard to get through, Vietnam War and the men coming home without fanfare!
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
This version proves that the lyrical meaning of this tune transcends the cliche of the album version’s recording (which is not a diss against it, only its ubiquity). The call for inter-generational harmony is as beautiful as the vocal harmonies contained therein, regardless the faults of the messengers.
This is one of my favorite songs. It might have been better if they had written a song about accepting different opinions and not getting derailed by stupid qualms about money and ego. In the end we all die. Money, ego, prestige mean nothing.
It IS a song about accepting different opinions!
I SAW THAT CONCERT LIVE IN THE ORIGINAL DALLAS COWBOY STADIUM AND THE BEACH BOYS WERE THEIR BACK UP BAND THE DALLAS POLICE TOOK OFF THEIR TIES AND BOGGIED DOWN. GOD BLESS GREAT MUSIC 🎶 FOREVER AND ALWAYS

Michael Jackson Led Zepplin Pink Floyd Eagles Elvis Linda R. On and on NEVER TO BE REPEATED… …
Lindo, demais muito talento Very good.. 👃👃🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I don’t know. Teach your children is wonderful of course but this band has notoriously drug abuse so what are they teaching ?
He played pedal steel guitar on the studio version
I wish there was a version with Jerry Garcia in it
Your Children You who are on the road Must have a code that you can live by And so become yourself Because the past is just a goodbye Teach your children well Their father's hell did slowly go by And feed them on your dreams The one they pick's the one you'll know by Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry So just look at them and sigh and know they love you And you, of tender years Can't know the fears that your elders grew by And, so please help them with your youth They seek the truth before they can die Teach your parents well Their children's hell will slowly go by And feed them on your dreams The one they pick's the one you'll know by Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry So just look at them and sigh and know they love you
