I'm very curious as the other non-retrievable types that uses wireless tech, which I would never recommend due to the nature of exposure that close internally.

Unlike other capsule systems that use a cumbersome wired connection and radiofrequency (RF) signals to transmit data from the capsule to an external recorder worn by the patient, CapsoCam can be safely used on patients with implantable electronic devices, such as pacemakers or insulin pumps. This is because there is no RF transmission, the data is stored inside the capsule and extracted post-procedure, eliminating the possibility of interference with the patient's electronic devices or other devices that the patient may come in contact with during their examination.

Hi there! The capsule can record images for up to 20 hours, which can improve the chances of seeing the entire small bowel. This long recording time can be especially useful in patients whose digestive system is a bit slower because the capsule will need some extra time to pass through the stomach, small bowel, etc. Currently, CapsoCam has the longest battery life among all commercially available capsule endoscopes.

CapsoCam is a medical procedure used to examine the small intestine, and it is not designed to replace endoscopy. Typically, CapsoCam procedures are conducted after a patient has received negative results from an Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy. Hi LynnJaimes! Generally speaking, it is not difficult to swallow the capsule. It is similar in size to a large vitamin pill, and it has a smooth coating, which makes it easy to swallow. However, if you have trouble swallowing, such as when you have a swallowing disorder, your doctor can explain alternative ways to administer the capsule to you.

Hi Tabassum! No, the procedure should not be painful. If the patient experiences any pain or discomfort, they should call their doctor.

Hi Mario! Most capsules pass without getting stuck (i.e. retained). However, if the capsule does get stuck, your doctor will discuss the next steps with you. It all depends on your condition, clinical history, reason for ingesting the capsule, etc. You won't have to clean the capsule and the capsule doesn't dissolve. It is usually sent to a download center or back to your doctor where a trained professional will disinfect it and download the data.

They will use a double ballon endoscope to push capsule. It wont dissolve

You poop into a strainer then pour warm water over it to see if the capsule is in there. When you do see it, you use the magnetic stick to retrieve it. It goes into it's little case, then you either ship it off or take it to your Dr (however they tell you to do it)

@@ashleighflood6262 It went well although took longer to work its way through my body and re-appear on the other end. Results were helpful with my diagnosis.There was no cost to me for the procedure as I live in Canada and it was covered under our provincial health. Good luck
