After our ground crew banded, measured and weighed and plucked a few feathers from baby R6, i returned it back to the nest. The bands will enable us and anybody seeing it to identify from where this bird did come. The feather plucking is for DNA testing to determine R6s sex. We should have the DNA results back soon. Hopefully, no human will ever touch this beautiful bird again. We expect it to fledge in May or June.
