What could have played differently by the Wizards? Choosing to move both wizards to the middle for the two random buffs was a high gamble for little reward. In addition to this, the older wizard moved straight into melee, for what I assume was to prevent a monk from taking the second middle tile. This instead set up both wizards into stacking themselves together for Eye of the Storm from the male monk, and again later from the female monk. A gameplay mistake happened when both of the wizard's got skipped on their movement turns after casting their spells in this vulnerable position. They should have been able to get out of the stacked up position on two multiple turns, but instead after Genie was cast by the apprentice, and Tempest by the older wizard, neither were given a chance to roll movement. If RNG had favored the wizard school team, I think had they came out spells blazing onto a single monk and staying tactically at range, might have given their best chance. Scoring a 5 damage die and 4 damage die on the male monk was huge. Had their other turns been spent to cast more offensive spells focused on one monk target, instead of defensive buffs or using a dagger, they may have been able to take one of the monks down before they could even get in range. But it's not a large board, and would take some luck of the die that the monks can't move far to stay at that range long enough to get lucky enough to do so. Something like double genie, than blowing the rest of the fire spells. After that cast your defensive and healing spells, and try to out last the monk's BP's. Staying long range with the wizards in good positions to avoid allowing the monks getting out of LoS. While I don't think the final outcome to this game would have changed ultimately in any way, the wizard player not having played the hero class before hurt his chances, but he also seemed unaware of the monk's abilities, which doubled down on his initial mistakes going into the middle. Note: Riposte could have been used by the female monk if she had gotten hit while in tempest, even though the male monk acquired the tile. Unless I'm unaware of any homebrew rules you made on this tournament, Trophy tiles are rewarded to the team and not the player. Fun game to watch. GG! -Virg
