Everyone! NO PLASTIC in your coffee gear! This list is hideous. There's no such thing as food grade plastic. "BPA free" is such a crock. It's pure marketing to get people to buy cheap, inferior products. We put scolding hot water in these French presses over and over again. There's no side effects? Get a plastic-free French press. I have an Alessi 9094 French press, all stainless steel and glass.

I've been trying to dial this in for a while and I'm not satisfied with the coffee im getting. I'm not assuming it's the fault of the device. What am I doing wrong? I've tried different coffees and different grind sizes. I'm neither getting bitter nor sour as far as I can tell.. It tastes more of plastic or metal or ash, and kind of flat, perhaps oxidized. Fresh hot coffee tastes like a stale cup. Halp!

Bought a pack of the Espresso no 7 orange pods. Absolutely terrible! The pods hardly let any water through, it slows to a dribble then stops and the machine shuts down. Won’t be buying them again!

Here are the following whole beans that I tried. -Folgers 1850 Black Gold whole bean -Eight O'Clock Dark Italian Espresso whole bean -Eight O'Clock Colombian whole bean -Independence Jet Fuel whole bean (a Texas based coffee brand) -Tim Horton's medium roast whole bean In about a week or so, I will try Hills Bros whole bean for the first time.

After 40 years of using grounded coffee and now retired, the past couple years I been rolling around the idea of trying whole bean coffee, might depend on if theres such a thing as an affordable electric coffee grinder, because I'm not grinding by hand, it's an age thing..... One thing I noticed in all these years of coffee making, if coffee sits in pot for 5-15 minutes after brewing, the coffee taste better, after 1 hour it's not so good........
