My husband and i live in a 14x60 trailer. Our boys are grown. But at one point our home had5 adults, 2 children under 3, 4 cats and 2 dogs for several months. It takes consideration, conversation, and a huge dollup of patience, and a couple of bless your hearts thrown in when you have so many people in a confined space. Edit to add: my husband has mental health issues but he takes his medication regularly. If he/i don't mention it you wouldn't know. But he does see things/people who aren't there. He has been in psych wards long before we ever met. He refused to father any children because he didn't want to risk them having it. But he loves his stepsons like they were his.
