Glad I realized this was from 2022 😂 whew
Credit still applies for tax year 2024. The numbers just would be index for inflation. Meaning the income limit could be higher. 😉
Does certified mail by default has to be signed by the receiver in order to receive (even if I don't add any optional extras like return receipt)? I need to send certified mail to a PO box address WITHOUT any signature required upon delivery. Is that possible? I just need tracking and proof that I mailed.
No, certified mailing is just that. It certifies it was mailed and provides tracking. If you need somebody to sign for it, that is return receipt requested. We never require that. We just send mail certified so that we can prove that it was sent. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Thought its said no staples
@@Igoteverything1988 You can use Staples. The section you’re talking about is when it’s referring to attaching the W-2s. You just don’t want to staple through all the pages. You just wanna staple the W-2s through the top or first page of the Form 1040. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and the comment! 😁
Do you have anywhere that explains this in further detail? I don't know what I'm doing, but every instruction jumps right to the end. "Followed by all the other forms behind it." What forms? Is there any website that helps somebody who doesn't know how to do taxes figure out how to do it? I suddenly owe money because of the way they changed things and I can't afford to pay a website to do my return because I usually have the website take the payment out of my return so that doesn't work if I owe money. So I need to do it myself but I don't know what I'm doing!
@@shaggytheshaman Thanks for watching and comment. All you have to do is print out the return in its entirety. Assemble the return according to how it prints out or look at the sequence numbers printed in the upper right hand corner of the return going from smallest to largest. If you can’t afford to do your taxes yourself, look at the IRS VITA program. If you qualify then the volunteers prepare your return for free. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and the comment. 😁

Is it ok to file s-corp tax classification when you still haven't generated no revenue?
That's a personal choice. We often look at how much revenue/profit a business has before they decide to make that switch. Ballpark is about $60K in profit because then the tax savings can be significant. But some businesses come out the gate with strong profits so it makes sense from day one. Remember, you can always make the election the year prior to when you want it to take effect. For example, anytime in 2025 for it to be effective 01/01/26. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Whom you can claim as a dependent can get tricky. What's the kiddie tax, and do kids have to file?
Let's say your 16-year-old has $10,000 in investment income. If that income exceeds the threshold, the Kiddie Tax might kick in. Instead of paying taxes at their lower rate, their income could be taxed at your higher rate, potentially increasing their overall tax burden. Important Note: Tax laws are complex. This is a simplified explanation. Always consult with a qualified tax advisor for personalized guidance. 😉
@WilsonRogersCompanyInc makes sense.... Thanks as usual.
@ Always!
Thanks
You’re welcome as always!
When can we start filing?
@ Hasn’t been announced yet. But historically it’s the last week of January. Many of the chains start early offering refund advances and the like, but the returns themselves still can’t be filed until the IRS opens the system. Keep your eyes open for a video from “someone” announcing it. They’ll usually beat us to it! 🤣

I have shared custody and it was court ordered at birth that we alternate years for claiming on taxes, but she thinks she gets to every year. Do I have to follow these steps or do I just file claim
@@tonym4136 Even with a court order things can get complicated. One of the things that the IRS looks at is who the custodial parent is. Meaning who does the child spend the most time with. So if the child is with her 100% of the time, even though there’s a court order, per IRS standards, she would be the person to claim the kid. But if you absolutely feel that the person is claiming the child unjustly, then yes, you would follow these steps. Thanks for watching and the comment!

You already know!
Would you suggest logging general walking? For instance I work delivering bags of medicine to nursing homes. Typically once I’m done I clock about 3k steps.
Log everything of possible. The more you keep track of what you eat, drink and do in terms of workouts, the more “dialed in” you get with figuring things out. Too often we lie to ourselves. We underreport what we eat and over report exercise. When you get it right, you can really figure out when you are not seeing the results you want. I know that if I really want to drop pounds I have to workout and burn about 1,000 calories a day. My exercise of choice is cycling. So when that number ain’t dropping, I know EXACTLY what to turn up. If you know you’re doing 3K steps and things are good, then keep it up. But when the number stops moving you either 1) log more steps or 2) look for what is wrong on the food side. If I don’t record both, then it makes it harder to figure out what I need to increase or decrease. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching and the comment and good luck with your journey! 🥰
I received a letter in mail back in 2016 statting i couldnt file at all and needed a pin number.... no further info as to why and how! It didnt give clear instructions as to how or where to go and tax places all said "youll have to talk with irs" Tried calling to actually speak with someone... that's impossible!! The websites have been a joke as well. I had gotten soo discouraged with the time and efforts wasted, i tossed my hands in the air and gave up. One year turned in to 8 years now... iv tried a couple more times in 2017, 18 & 19 then said the heck with it. Bc of this, i never received any of the covid stimulus relief checks. Even right now, I'm still having major issues... Seems now they've begin to stream line things but it's been a MASSIVE HEADACHE since 2016. Still having issues with the (id.me/irs website) but oh well, I guess it's just my luck at this point
Sorry to hear that. I would start by filing your 2021 tax return ASAP. That return will lose the ability to claim a refund on 4/15/25. That was the last year with Covid funds attached to it. 2020 is passed so you can't get anything there. That return will need to be mailed to the IRS. We have a video on the channel about how to do that. Next, contact the IRS identity theft unit at 1-800-908-4490 and explain the PIN situation. They can point you in the right direction. Lastly, if needed, set up an in person appointment at an IRS taxpayer assistance center (TAC). You can do that via this link: apps.irs.gov/app/office-locator/ Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and the comment!
@WilsonRogersCompanyInc thank you!!!
@ no problem!
Hello, do you file Federal and state together?
Nope. They go to separate places. Just google “where to file form xxx in yyy” where xxx is the state tax form and yyy is your state. For example for me it would be “where to file Form IL-1040 in Illinois.” I should then be taken to my states tax authority (I.e. The Illinois Department of Revenue). There should be an option for either 1) the instructions for the form I am filing or 2) a list of where to file addresses. So basically, the returns go to two separate places. Neither of them want to get the others documents! 🤣 Hope that helps. Feel free to ask more questions. Thanks for watching and the comment. 😉
Thank you sir.

I haven’t worked in all of 2023 because I was living off of money saved up, would I have to file taxes?
If that was the only thing that you had going on in the year, they you probably wouldn't need to file. But say, if you had healthcare from the marketplace and received the Premium Tax Credit, then you would have to file. That's because the credit is reconciled on the tax return. Check out this site on the IRS' site for more info: www.irs.gov/individuals/check-if-you-need-to-file-a-tax-return Thanks for watching and the comment!

I figured it out. Right under my nose. On your tax return.
You got it. Glad you were able to figure it out. Thanks for watching and the comment! 😁
If I amend an erroneous tax return do I use the tax table base on column A of their numbers Or do I use the correct based on my generated numbers?
The correct number. 😉

Texas judged ruled against it !
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Dec. 3, 2024, issued a nationwide preliminary injunction suspending (temporarily) the government's enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) and its Implementing Regulations. This is not permanent. You can read the lawyers take on it here: www.hklaw.com/en/insights/publications/2024/12/corporate-transparency-act-reporting Thanks for watching and the comment! 😁
You do not have to file BOI anymore. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas issued a nationwide preliminary injunction in Texas stating that the IRS and government have over reached it's power and violates our 4th amendment.
It's a preliminary injunction (not permanent). You can read the lawyers take on it here: www.hklaw.com/en/insights/publications/2024/12/corporate-transparency-act-reporting Thanks for watching and the comment! 😁
Isn’t that there was an injunction against BOI?
@@jun9147 There was. See the pinned comment for more info as well as the article from Forbes explaining what that means.
I’ve had an llc since 2022- no activity , I got everything through incfile, and this is the first time hearing this will do asap , will I get fined for the back heard that did not do? This is crazy on the fines
Any business that was in existence prior to 01/01/24 had until 12/31/24 to do their first filing. One would only be fined if they didn't file by that deadline. But make sure you look at the pinned comment for this video. The courts just suspended the enforcement of the BOI reporting. So if you want to or don't want to file at this time, there "technically" is no penalty until that case is settled. A fellow TH-camr (JJ The CPA) gives a perspective on if one should or should not file given the court injunction: th-cam.com/video/OScsfXYClOM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uoYzFP4uWMmKZe8l Thanks for watching and the comment! 😁
@ new sub! Keep pushing
Thanks for the sub. Much appreciated and happy to help. 🥰
Does this have to be filed annually or only when you add an owner who has at least 25% ownership in the company?
All companies are to file within a specified time from their formation. In theory it’s just a one time thing. But you might have to “update” the filing if you add an owner whose ownership percentage now makes them a beneficial owner. Or certain demographic items change (name, address, etc). Thanks for watching and the comment! 👍🏾
***IMPORTANT UPDATE*** The Corporate Transparency Act has been “temporarily” blocked by the courts as of 12/04/24. But this does not mean that 1) it might not be overturned in the future, 2) you can’t still file the report if you want to. You can read the "lawyers" view about the injunction here: www.hklaw.com/en/insights/publications/2024/12/corporate-transparency-act-reporting
Always great info, thank you!

Ive tried multiple times, but I can't get the online form to accept my input. Ive tried asking for help but they send a generic email saying to follow the instructions. Ive done that to my best ability, but it's not working. I don't know what to do.
Are you using the PDF that you have to download and then upload? Or are you just simply going into the site and entering your data? What type of error messages are you getting?
@@WilsonRogersCompanyInc I have been trying to fill out the form online. It won't let me submit at the end giving me an error. I put a call into my accountant, maybe he can take care of it.
@ What’s the error message?
@@WilsonRogersCompanyInc It gave an error code saying it couldn't match the information. However, I verified the information is correct, so there is nothing to "fix".
@ Understood. Well, hopefully the accountant or somebody else can give you insights on what’s not matching.

It feels like I'm being penalized for being single when I file for taxes. How's that fair. I don't understand why single people have to pay more taxes when typically it's harder for a person to be single and paying bills versus dual incomes.
Can you elaborate? Each filing status has its own set of tax brackets for a particular income level. The only ones who pay less at the same pay rate are “potentially” those filing head of household. Everyone else is pretty much equal in terms of the rate they are charged. Just want to understand the “single people have to pay more taxes” comment. Thanks for watching and the comment! 😁
Thanks so much! I had to mail in my taxes for the first time this year and this was a tremendous help.
@@BrandiHess13 Glad you found it helpful. It’s a lost art! 😉🤣
@@WilsonRogersCompanyInc Question. Do you include an empty envelope addressed to yourself inside the main envelope? The last sentence in the pro-move letter that says "...kindly return it to me in the self-addressed stamped envelope that is enclosed".
@BrandiHess13 Yes we do. Make sure that envelope back to you has a stamp on it too. The IRS will not pay to send the letter back but will gladly do it if YOU pay for it. 😉 And we typically put a copy of the letter in the envelope so all they have to do is stamp it and seal it. They keep the “second” copy of that same letter for their records.

I thought this video was fantastic. I'm sorry you're White lightning was totaled but you've got a beauty there. Your video not only educated me, but also made me realize I don't "need" the npp mode of I don't care about being quiet. Again great video!
Glad you found it helpful and thanks for the well wishes on White Lightening. I really was bummed that she ended up like that, especially since I had it built in the pandemic and had to wait from Memorial day until 10/3/22 to take delivery. But alas, now I have Ghost. Took me a minute to get use to the AWE system on her as it is loud AF pretty much ALL the time. Highway speed is okay so long as the RPMs aren't way up there. The NPP system is cool in that it allows you to be loud or quite (if you want). Ghost came that way which was a cool option at about $995 from Chevy. But the aftermarket system was somewhere around $1,300 (ish) and the rumble is WAY lower. Has a nice muscle tone to it. Enjoy your 'maro brethren and be safe out there.
