    I can't get it to work with multiple rows. It doesn't expand equally on top and bottom. The ancor point remains on the first row (I think this is the problem) is there a fix for that?

    • @MotionCaddy
      @MotionCaddy หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for pointing this out! It took a bit of time, but I figured out that I missed an expression needed in the shape layer's position when the text is center-aligned. Here’s the updated expression to put in the Position property of your shape layer: margin = 50; w = (thisComp.layer("TEXT").sourceRectAtTime().width) + margin * 2; h = (thisComp.layer("TEXT").sourceRectAtTime().height) + margin * 2; x = thisComp.layer("TEXT").transform.position[0]; // Centered on the text layer y = thisComp.layer("TEXT").transform.position[1] + h / 2; // Adjusting Y to move downwards [x, y] This adjustment should help keep the shape layer expanding downward as you add new lines. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

    • @MotionCaddy
      @MotionCaddy หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, glad you enjoyed the tutorial! If you want to control the scale dimensions independently, you can use two sliders-one for the X scale and one for the Y scale. Here's an example of how the expression could look (you'll use this in the scale property): x = thisComp.layer("CONTROLS").effect("X Scale")("Slider"); y = thisComp.layer("CONTROLS").effect("Y Scale")("Slider"); [x, y] This will let you control the X and Y scales separately with sliders. Let me know if this helps or if I've misunderstood what you're asking!

      Ah, I see where the confusion is! I already had precomps set up before starting the tutorial, which is why I mentioned opening the first page (my precomp). I had two precomps: one called "First Page" and another called "Second Page." If you have a solid in your main composition, you can right-click it and select "Pre-compose," as mentioned above! After Effects: Cinema 4D Error: Render Failed (5070 :: 0) Computer does not support Cinema 4D

    • @MotionCaddy
      @MotionCaddy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the Cinema 4D renderer. While I haven't encountered this exact issue before, here are a few things that might help: 1. Check GPU Compatibility: The Cinema 4D renderer relies heavily on your GPU (graphics card). Make sure your system has a supported GPU with updated drivers. If you're using an older or integrated GPU, it might not fully support Cinema 4D rendering. 2. Update After Effects: Make sure both After Effects and any related Cinema 4D components are fully up to date. Adobe frequently releases updates that can resolve compatibility or rendering issues. 3. Check Memory and CPU: Cinema 4D rendering can be resource-intensive. Ensure your system meets the recommended RAM and CPU requirements. You may need at least 16 GB of RAM for more complex renders. Hopefully, one of these steps helps resolve the issue!

    • @MotionCaddy
      @MotionCaddy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, moving forward in 3D space isn’t really possible with this method, since it's based on a 2D photo and the depth map is just simulating the illusion of depth. However, you can mimic a forward move by adding a scale animation to your layer to give the appearance of zooming in. Hope that helps!

    • @MotionCaddy

      Hi there! If you're following along with the paper tear effect tutorial, the effect you're looking for might be the Roughen Edges effect, which creates that torn or jagged edge look. You can find it in the Effects & Presets panel by searching for "Roughen Edges." If you're still having trouble, double-check that you're looking in the correct panel and that you’ve selected the right layer before applying the effect. I hope this helps! Also, if you meant a different effect, please let me know!

    My mac crash cause of Cinema 4d…

    • @MotionCaddy
      @MotionCaddy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! Sorry to hear that Cinema 4D caused your Mac to crash, but it can be a bit heavy at times! Here are a few things you can try to help prevent future crashes: 1. Update Software: Make sure both After Effects and any Cinema 4D components are fully up to date. Sometimes crashes can happen because of bugs that have been fixed in newer versions. 2. Check System Requirements: Ensure your Mac meets the recommended system requirements for using Cinema 4D within After Effects. If your system is struggling with memory or processing power, it could cause crashes. 3. Clear Cache: Try clearing your After Effects cache to free up resources. You can do this by going to Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache. 4. Optimize Settings: Lowering your composition’s resolution or turning off unnecessary layers and effects while working can reduce the strain on your system, potentially avoiding crashes. 5. Check GPU Drivers: If you're using an external GPU or relying heavily on your GPU for rendering, make sure the drivers are up to date. On a Mac, these usually come with system updates, so check for the latest macOS updates. Hopefully, one of these tips helps prevent crashes in the future!

    How can you scale it and keep the proportions when using one of the "dots" in the corners? When you scale it with the slider, or by typing, with the proportion locked, it scales proportionally. But if you try to scale it with one of the corner dots, it doesn't keep the proportions. THANKS for this VIDEO!

    • @MotionCaddy
      @MotionCaddy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! Glad you enjoyed the video! 😊 To keep the proportions when scaling a shape layer using the corner "dots" (bounding box handles), you'll want to hold down the Shift key while dragging. This forces After Effects to maintain the aspect ratio as you scale the shape manually. Alternatively, if you prefer to scale proportionally by typing in values, make sure the "Constrain Proportions" lock icon is enabled in the Transform settings or in the Scale slider. This ensures that the width and height scale together when you adjust one value. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!
