I wash everything into the shower with soap and plenty of water, even the PSU. I dry them with hot air and let them several days to even more natural drying. Never had issues. They are 100% clean after that, no smell, nothing, 'brand new'.

I used to clean like this, now over the years to remove excess dust I use an air compressor, and to remove the remains of water from the circuits I also use the compressor, it's faster than using a hair dryer, and without the risk of overheat any heat-sensitive area.
