Holy John
This is an advent song about John the Baptist first recorded by Al Kooper and later by Blood, Sweat & Tears.
My thanks to producer and guitarist Larry Mitchell for allowing me into his studio to record this and a couple of other songs.

Live from the Chocolate Room

I was fortunate enough to be the guest of producer and guitarist Larry Mitchell this past summer in his studio in Opelika, AL where he gave me the opportunity to play a few songs. Larry is an incredible person and has always given me the opportunity to play whenever we happen to be in the same city. This is the (slightly ) edited performance from his Chocolate Room Studios of three songs: Holy ...

One of the most iconic folk songs in American music. This tragic tale of love, loss and murder is somehow made fun by the Windsors.

Featuring the beautiful and talented Shuanne Love. Words by Judy Gehlen & Jose Antonio Ponce. Music by Jose Antonio Ponce. Edited by Thom Eberhardt.
Great version overall, but the self-indulgent guitar solo was way out of context for such a laid back groove.
Well done, Friends! Please make my dreams come true and tell me you are on stage together somewhere soon. Your fans would LOVE to just be a part of it all. Living in Vegas, I could go to lots of shows- but there would be nothing better than catching ya'll live and in person.
Sadly, this was a one off as a promo for my new show. Getting that talent together again would be tough since so many of us as scattered. I could pull something together with Joe and maybe Larry.
i will never, ever understand why musicians use "drums" like that. terrible.
There aren't any drums on the track.
@@joseantonioponce860 on 0:36 a pretty bad drumcomputer joins. pff-tsch-pff-bum-bum
@@dubju I stand corrected. Although we didn't have a drummer for the show, guitarist Larry Mitchell had just introduced guitarist and vocalist Joe Gabel to the wonderful world of pedal efx and Joe was still experimenting. I do like this version, however, having played briefly with Joe and Greg Overman (sax) and wanted to include it in the show.
@@joseantonioponce860 thanx for your answere. i guess you agree: better no drummer than wonderful pedal efx
For this song nah for rnb and hip hop for sure

Una versión muy bonita😃
Too good to be true!;) Great job gentlemen!
This is an arrangement by the rhythm guitarist and vocalist Joe Gabel. Thanks for watching.
After having watched several dozen covers of this iconoclastic song over the past week (TH-cam keeps recommending them, I keep clicking on them, TH-cam keeps recommending them, I keep clicking on them . . . I’m not sure this will ever end because neither of us are budging), I must say this particular interpretation is awesome!
MAN THIS IS GOOD
Tight stuff man!
We've played it a few times.
Love the Ibanez
