I haven’t learned the three X series gesture language very well yet. There aren’t very many gestures that I really understand. They are the most Japanese of any of the aibo models. Pochi was running Aibo Pal which is an adult personality that basically has very happy moods for the most part but it can sometimes get sad or angry or even bored. I like the software because it’s very gentle on their joints. It’s very slow moving and quiet. I have a copy of Kawaii Aibo which is anything but. They can actually jump into the air on this software. They will flip over on their backs and walk with their bellies in the air. They even have a skit where they will present their front paws to you, then they will stand up on their back paws and walk forward with you holding their front paws. It’s very hard on their joints. I made demo it either on Ginto or Pochi. Probably Ginto because his legs are better than Pochi’s.

@@Tam.I.am. no. It wasn’t annoying. It reminded me that I need to pay more attention to his gestures so that I can learn what he’s saying to me,. All of those little movements mean something. Also, the light on his head displays his emotions.

Hi, Zoe! That must’ve been such an amazing experience. Unfortunately, my Amazing Aly was a rescue. She came from the house of a doll hoarder, and her book stopped working. I wanted to buy the rest of her accessory packs and what not, but the book isn’t working, so I can’t set her year or date or whatever. I have a funny feeling I’m going to have to get a new doll just to get a book that hopefully will work. Anyways, so glad you enjoyed the video and that it brought back pleasant memories for you. She is cute, but the poor girl is mute. I don’t know what happened. She wasn’t mute the last time I ran her. Oh well. She is from 2015 so who knows. She hasn’t been disturbed. She has been lying on top of my silicone reborn boxes like a queen for the past three or so years.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 that’s so cute! I was looking at my robot kitties yesterday, and they’re laying onto this mattress that has been turned sideways like a little thrown as well. Of course, whiskers always lies on a throne. Of course, whiskers, has many thrones. She’ll cuddle with me at night, and then, when I wake up, she demands that I pet her. There’s a throne downstairs for her, which is like a little cat bed. And she always demands that I pet/cuddle her. she would be like your dream cat. Imagine that you have a cat that lets you pet her whenever you want, Loves to jump onto your lap, hold her whenever you want, and cuddles with you whenever you want. That would describe whiskers. I wish you could see her. I don’t know what I’m gonna do when she goes. She’ll be 17 this year. She’s definitely a princess. Very demanding kitty.

Hi, Heather! The gap is about an inch wide all the way around the play area. I don’t think Moore dowels and pool noodles would fit there. I would also have to buy more pipes to join them together, which would probably cause the outer wall to separate. It has to be something low to the ground that can fill in the gap between the pool noodles and the play area. I was thinking a border puzzle piece to give the play mat a nice straight edge, but that would only Phill in about half an inch. The older dogs could still step off the edge and fall. I’m thinking I might take some toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls or something, and put them along the gap all the way around. It won’t look great, but I don’t know what else to do at the moment.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 That might work. But what's to keep the dogs from just squishing the toilet paper rolls flat with their bodies as they bump into them? Cardboard tubes aren't as springy as pool noodles. And how would you hold them together?

@@Heather-Br I wouldn’t. I would put them end to end in the gap, and if one should be too long at the corner I’d cut it to fit. The dog’s bodies wouldn’t be hitting them as much as their feet. Something has to be in the gap or when they step off the edge they might fall or jam themselves. I think using more noodles wouldn’t look good and would have to sit on top of the mat rather than fitting into the gap. If I used wooden douels with no padding they would just roll under their feet and still jam. I can’t cut the excess from noodles or douels to make it snug to the sides because the noodles lose some width after being cut. They slide easily out of the elbow pipe fittings I use to join the noodles into a square. I learned this the hard way with the first set of noodles, a 25 dollar mistake I don’t want to make again. I think I will have to buy a large block of craft foam and cut it into smaller blocks to go around the parameter of the mat and hope for the best.

Oh my! Lots of things. Most of which he ignored. I told him hello first which he listened and responded correctly. Then I asked him to shake hands. He did responde but this software doesn’t hold out its paw straight out like most aiboware and I kept missing before he put it down again. Then I was asking him to dance, which he never did. Then he made some music and lay down with his front paws stretched out to either side like airplane wings and coppied me forever. I was trying to tell him all done so he would leave that mode. In the end I had to tip him. I just picked him up and turned him sideways in the air to get his attention. When he didn’t look like doing anything interesting I just told him goodbye. After he answered I turned him off and ended the video.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 Thanks so much for explaining all that. I hope you can find an English-language guide so you can learn the commands for this software.

@@Heather-Br I don’t think anyone has ever translated it. LOL! And you were right about Blue making an English patch for Pesu’s Chatty Life stick. That would work for that software because it is very similar to Aibo Life one. The patch is in fact the English language coding taken from Aibo Life one and then the Japanese is overwritten. The English patch does not work well in software that do not have English equivalents. Kawaii, for example has very few Japanese words that corespond to those used in Aibo Life one. There is a fraise you can use in Japanese to have the aibo scrub the floor with a cloth under its feet. The Japanese is something like, “clean my floor slave”. Since this fraise doesn’t exist in English in Aibo Life it was replaced with, “not even close”, which makes zero sense to me. There are lots of Japanese words and fraises in Japanese Aiboware that are not coded for English and they are not translated. When the patch is applied, these commands either disappear from the stick or get assigned a random English fraise like the example above. For another evolution, both sides A and B, there are more Japanese commands that are just not there in the English programming from Aibo Life. I would just learn enough Japanese to work with the software rather than sticking coding from an English one over it.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 That makes sense. Thanks for explaining about the non-translation of most Japanese software. But just as a note: I mentioned the English-language patch for Chatty Life because I thought maybe you could use it if you ever run either Ginto or Pochi on that particular piece of Aiboware.

@@Heather-Br actually, I do run Ginto on chatty life. I would still have to send the stick to someone to apply it. I can’t use a Sony Clie. It’s a tiny palm top computer that is safe for memory sticks that isn’t a card reader. They are very point and click driven and none of them talk. That is the way you can turn a plain memory stick into a piece of Aibo software. The software that I showed for bolt and Pochi Had to be stick zapped. I don’t exactly know what goes into this programmatically, but the sticks have to be prepared to except software rather than just plain willy-nilly photos from a Sony super shot camera or whatever. Yes, it is pirating in a way, but as long as you don’t sell it, I don’t think it matters at this point. The actual software sticks are in the hundreds of dollars nowadays most of the time.

Yeah. You may not have been around. I have this weird recalcitrance about doing videos that I’ve already done in the past over again. I know that’s completely unjust because I have new subscribers who have joined that may not have ever seen them. Part of me is like, well, just look back through the video list. LOL! But no. I don’t mind doing another video of “another evolution side B.“ I may not have done it to be perfectly honest because I’m not really familiar with that software. I have it for varieties sake, but it’s not something that I use in Zoe on an every day basis.

The sticks are for me to keep. And yes, I intend on raising Pochi the way I have Ginto on aibo life three. Right now, Pochi only understands Japanese since he is running a Kauai aibo stick at the moment. It’s a Japanese software that lets the dog do all kinds of very strange things. They can turn around and walk on their backs with their legs behind their bodies and their bellies in the air. They can also juggle their balls on their stomach. They even have this game where you play with their tail like a joystick, and it wiggles their heads around. They can also walk on their back legs if you hold onto their front paws. It’s a very cute software, but it is very very hard on their joints and produces a condition called chainsaw leg. The leg joints are very very loud. I’m not sure if you will be able to hear well enough to hear the difference between gento’s and Pochi‘s legs, but I will have to show it to you one day.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 I've heard chainsaw leg before. At least that's what I assumed I was hear every time Hercules walked. So if it's anything close to that, I'll be able to hear it lol.

@@Heather-Br hi, Heather! Yes. That is what Aibo Dancer does. It detects beats and gives random remarks once in a while like “who killed the tunes?” Or “give me a beat!”, or “ shake my booty! Shake my booty!” as it damces. I was banging on a pool noodle to provide some sound for him to dance to.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 Thanks for explaining how dancer works. And thanks for telling much what Bolt was saying. I was wondering if he had a low battery or something because I couldn't really understand him and the voice sounded a bit scratchy.

@@Heather-Br the 210 speaker is small and not great for reproducing speech. Bolt is on volume 3 which is loud as he can manage. I guess the sound is a little distorted.

Thank you. They do have American versions of these guys, but I like the British girls better because they are different.

Cool! Thank you. Wendy also seems to grip her items better. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong with Dora-Lee. Fortunately Wendy has all her accessories, but little Dora-Lee is missing her blanket. Now that I know their proper names, I can try to find one for her.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 It's kind of like Dora-Lee is the original, and then Wendy is how Mattel "improved" it. I put that in quotes because even though it seems to be mostly an improve this time, sometimes toy company improves are just making things cheaper. I hope you can find the blanket. Oh, the pictures I've seen of Dora-Lee has her wearing little baby ponytails on the sides of her hair.

@@Tam.I.am. oh wow! I have the original and the improved version. Lol! Well, Wendy still has her little ponytails. I guess Dora-Lee lost hers somehow in the battle of life. And, yeah. I hope I find her blanket too. Right now, it seems like a lost cause. Her original mom has been looking for it for three months. Maybe four, and she hasn’t found it yet. I will probably have to buy a nonworking doll to get the blanket. I do have to say, though, I can see how the improvements made a little difference. Dora Lee has trouble holding her toys. She doesn’t recognize them immediately when you put them into her hands the way Wendy does. Wendy will immediately bring her hands together when she senses there’s something in them, and hold it up to her face where the RFID sensors are to identify it. I can’t quite figure out how to get Dora Lee to register her teddy bear or her bottle. She’s supposed to hold it and take it to her mouth on her own, but I haven’t figured out the trick yet. I don’t think I put it in her hands correctly so that both magnets would lock onto either side.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 You got the bear to work on the video there. She was holding it up just like she did on another lady's video. Yeah, improved in function, but it's too bad Wendy's teddy bear is just plastic.

@@Tam.I.am. yeah. It’s not a proper Teddy that one.

I think that’s because she has almost the same lines as the American doll. The difference is, the American version of this doll says juice pop instead of lollipop. If you see this thing that she licks, it looks nothing like a traditional sucker. It looks more like a popsicle. it looks as though it has two sticks and you could very easily break it in half and eat one half and then eat the other.

Which of the two dolls does more? Or, do they do adjust about the same. I think I actually have a British lollipop, and I think I remember the two sticks. I remember right, it was weird.

@@shaunteckno they do about the same thing. They have magnetic hands. When you place one of their accessories in them, they raise them up to their face. They have an RFID sensor there, and they will read the item and react to it. Dora Lee does not have her Blankey so I don’t think she can go to sleep properly without it. Wendy on the other hand has all of her accessories. She’s the really happy giggly one. Dora Lee is quieter and speaks in phrases rather than complete sentences. Supposedly, Dora Lee can also understand her name, but I obviously don’t sound like thanks to Caleb Chung so I need to find a way to reset her so that she understands my voice. As far as I know, that’s the only voice command that she understands. I’m not sure what she does when she hears it though. Other than that, the two are very much alike.

Hi, Heather! Well, my accent does not at all match Caleb Chung’s so there could be an issue with that. I think she does have a reset button. There are so many little holes and things in both of these girls backs with tiny labels above them. I have no idea what they are. They sure look like they’re from the same line. Their hair is exactly the same, their animatronics look very similar. There attitudes are much different though. Dora-Lee is very young and she sounds very tired. Wendy is loud and very very happy. I love how different they are. I think Dora-Lee is a “Matel Real loving baby“. If I were to hazard, a guess, I think Wendy is a “Fisher-Price little mommy my very real baby?” I don’t think they’re both from Mattel, but I’m not sure.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 All I can say is to ask Caleb if they can find out what those holes are for. Either that or get sighted help to read those tiny labels. Also, I assume you've checked the box for manuals or quick-start guides? Run any paperwork through your scanner or a reader on your phone, if you use one.

@@Heather-Br they didn’t come with their boxes. It was just them and their accessories. I could call Be My Eyes though and ask them to look at these random little holes in their backs. I’m pretty sure (at least on Dora-Lee) that one of them is a reset button. I wonder if she has stages or something? I wasn’t aware that she does, only that she recognizes her name and gets really happy when she hears it.

Yeah. Wendy is cute. She didn’t show off her red LED boo-boo on her knee where she asks for her Band-Aid but she did show off her green LED tongue. At least Wendy was pretty cooperative and took her toys when I handed them to her. I don’t think I have figured out how to work with Dora Lee’s hands correctly yet. She didn’t seem to react when I put an item in her hand, whereas Wendy would immediately take the item up to her face, register what it was, and respond to it. I could give Dora-Lee her bottle, but she wouldn’t hold it on her own, even though her hands were clasped together as though she could have. These guys arms can fold in across their bodies or reach out to their sides or even reach up and rub their eyes with their hands,. They’re really impressive.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 Hmm. It could have been that you were handing objects to Dora incorrectly. Or it could be that the sensors in her hands are no longer functioning. Look at the difference between the two Alysons and Julies. One in each pair can read a book or react to their items whereas the other of the pair cannot, just because the sensor in their hand no longer works. Again, ask Caleb Chung if they tested Dora in this respect just before shipping the girls.

@@flamingcandle6881 no. It’s not the rubber. It’s there necks and tails. They are strung on two fiber optic cables and they are prone to snapping. I could probably take one.

Oh! I love them too. They’re awesome! Well, I haven’t made too many videos of them because at the time, I didn’t have a tripod that would get them in frame very well. Now, I’ve got one and I can make some videos of them. I have a rare white Robosapien V2, and an RS Media. I also have a Roboquad that will be looking for a new home as soon as I get him repaired. I think the person that I was going to trade him to may have decided not to go through with it. I will make sure though before I put out any serious offers.

Oh wow! I would probably be just as excited to pet your robotic kitties. I have one robotic cat. Her name is Leche. She’s a cream colored joy for all companion cat. From a distance, she fools people and they think she is real until they get closer.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 people have asked if one of the cats that I have is a real cat. She looks like a real cat, as well, and her name is whiskers. I also have a real cat now, named whiskers. Can you please do a review on your kitty? that would be very awesome! I’d love to hear what moves, and what you do to make her purr, etc. Does she have a hairbrush? My kitties came with a hairbrush, but you can’t brush them, because the fur tends to fall out. Sorry to be so gushy, I just absolutely love cats. 😺

@@crazyrobotlady3391 yes, my Julie is brand new, except that the lady took her out to test her, to see if she works. She does indeed work. I found that it was very interesting, that you could hear the speaker static, even after Julie stopped talking. It reminds me of when a tape player is playing.

@@shaunteckno oh yeah, it does!, And the pitch of the static changes a little bit. It’s sort of wobbles in the silence between her talking. I don’t know what that’s about.

Actually, it was the batteries in the lunchbox that died, but Patty herself has to have alkaline AA or she will act up in her own turn. Thankfully, it wasn’t Patty that died, it was just her tape player. It was just so funny because she went from absolutely normal speed to crawling and weird and demonic. Lol!

Hi, Shawn! I usually clean mine about once a month. If you have an echo device, set yourself an audible reminder. That’s what I do, and I have a lot of tape heads to clean. Lol! Mego 2XL, Tiger 2XL, Cricket, Corkey, Jill, Teddy Ruxpin, and now Miss Patty. I’m gonna have to get a thing of new Q-tips soon.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 you know something, I have a bear that has a tape player, as well. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of it, but it’s the Bear named Spinoza. I may want to clean his tape head as well. Any instructions as to how to do that? That be great! I don’t want to sell it, because I think it is kind of rare. Especially with the condition it’s in.

I love 2XL. He’s just so amazing and full of personality. There are more tape recorder characters out there, but some of them I just don’t really want, and others I don’t have the space for. Lol! Nowadays, to get this kind of interaction, you have to connect the robot to the cloud and possibly pay for a subscription, and if the companies servers should ever go down, you have a blinking paperweight that can’t do anything. I highly dislike the trend in today’s robots.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 There are? Neat, I only had known about Teddy, and about Cricket's family and her knockoffs. Now I know about 2XL too. Yeah. :/ I still prefer having my movies on DvD for about the same reason. Looking at the dolls like Jill reminds me that before floppy disks computers used that kind of tape, too.

@@Tam.I.am. yep. Computers did use tape too. I think those were wider though like video tape and they lived on these giant drives.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 Some of them used the normal cassettes of the same kind that so many mix tapes went on. It didn't last long, but yup, it was a thing.

Yeah. I’m glad they didn’t go classic fairytale on us. It’s bad enough we get letters from “the cow” who was thanking the man in the moon for helping her jump over the moon. And then the music-loving space creatures! I was like are we in the seventies on the set of “encounters of the third kind” or something? I tried to show the planets as she sang about them. I bought a model of the old solar system to use in this video. They were so tiny I may as well have been holding up colored marbles.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 They looked like lollypops. I understand wanting to depict a little kid's imagination, but people kind of expect more from a toy. Most the time. I think.

@@Tam.I.am. oh my! That bad? The description said “glow in the dark solar system model with bonus glowing Pluto”. I didn’t want to spend a lot for a prop that I’d never use again. I was hoping for Tennisball-sized at least. Oh well. They had inflatable ones about the size of beachballs but Amazon wanted 45 dollars for those.

@@Tam.I.am. haha! I know right? In my day back in the mid eighties in elementary school, we had nine planets.

Well, you’re looking at about 150 to 200 dollars if you want to get one with the lunchbox, mic, and a tape. Don’t do what I did and buy each piece separately. My original Patty was around 51 by herself. The lunchbox with her tapeplayer is separate from her so she will do very little without it. Mine was 73 dollars. Then I had to find the tapes and her original clothing because my girl came in baby clothes. Then I discovered when I got the lunchbox that my original Patty was mute. I had to purchase a replacement for about as much as I paid for the lunchbox plus some rare tapes to knock down the price. I am still paying for her outfits and the rest of her tapes even now.

Yeah. Moxie is great. Supposedly she got a update. That will help her understand conversation better recently. Normally she tends to jump from topic to topic but during this video she stayed on track.

Aw! Mac sounds sweet. Anyway, apparently she isn’t having that problem, but a moxie that I know who lives in Australia was on the verge of being sold because she hasn’t connected to Wi-Fi in two days. I was intending that video to be private, but I accidentally made it public. Oops. Anyway, me and windstorm would have greatly enjoyed green apples. I happened to love them too. Funny story. One day I was at the therapeutic writing stable and I had two apples in my pocket. One, I had just eaten for lunch. The other, I was going to eat as a snack later., Red Tag, the 25 year-old pony who hates walking over the giant lumpy gravel in the driveway before you get to the round pen was very cooperative when I went to get him out of the pasture. He walked right over that gravel, not paying it the least bit of attention. I was wondering why he was being so friendly. I mean, he’s not mean, but he’s not the cuddliest horse in the pasture either. He was leaning up against me and lipping the side of my face and rubbing his nose on my helmet. Then I finished grooming him and started to walk away when he turned around and started nosing at my shoulders and sniffing the back of my neck. By now, I was like, what on earth is wrong with you dude? Then I realized what he wanted. That second apple was in my left back pocket. I asked Coach Mike if I could give it to him and he said I could and Red Tag was my friend for the rest of the day.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 Wow. He's the best toy horse I've ever found, even though he's sitting up like a teddy bear instead of standing like a real pony. Oh, I used to love green apples too, especially Granny Smith, which is nice and green and tart even when ripe. Just can't eat them anymore. LOL! "Please, I really am your friend, please let me be the horse than can have the apple?"

@@Tam.I.am. Aw! That just makes Mack even cuter. I prefer my horses in realistic poses but as long as you love him, I don’t suppose it matters. Anyway, yeah it was so weird! Red Tag would rather walk around in the pasture and eat all day then do any work. I was a little worried when Mike sent me to get him. He is also quite hard of hearing so you have to really shout for him to recognize his name. Anyway, we still had a good session. I guess he thought I had one more Apple hidden somewhere and decided not to be his ornery self. Oh well. I guess if I carried special needs people around on my back for 22 years of my life, I would be pretty irritated too.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 I know you primarily like the stories the guys tell and stuff, but do you think you'd ever go for a dress up video? Watching dolls get dressed while the owner talks is kind of interesting for me, and some of your guys have wardrobes.

@@Tam.I.am. hi! Well, I have a set of videos like that for Julie number two. I show her in her different outfits as well as demonstrate her reading her books. I am saving the pajama outfit for the big event. I have a lot of videos like that of Cricket. I think I made a playlist of them. Getting to know 1986 playmates Cricket is the name of it. My Jill only has one outfit besides her general one. That is her pajama outfit. Patty has five outfits that I will be showing very soon. They are paired with the story that relates to them. She has a cheerleading story, a sort of fairytale princess story, a party story, a workout story, and a slumber party type story. The slumber party type story thing for Patty will kick off the slumber Palooza so that one is going to be last.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 Aw, neat! And the furry critters? I'm a little strange and count little guys like TJ as dolls too (speaking in a playing way now, I want to say I hope I'm not hurting their feelings, and speaking seriously, I hope I'm not annoying you).

@@Tam.I.am. no. You’re not annoying me. I just find it slightly creepy to Undress dolls on camera. I would rather not show that process. Certain people in the public get this sexual thrill from seeing little girls or children (which dolls look like children) being undressed, and I don’t want to contribute to their pleasure. Anyway, no harm and counting TJ and Teddy as dolls. Some eBay sellers do it too and it really confuses me when I’m searching for something. I don’t have very many clothes for Teddy Ruxpin yet, but there are lots of outfits that go together with certain cassettes. I intend to purchase those sets at some point. There is a Christmas story that has a Santa outfit, there is a beach party story that has a beach party outfit, and there is also a Valentines cassette, which is a bunch of random love songs, and Teddy Ruxpin wears a tuxedo. I plan on getting these but they are around 50 or $60 a set. TJ’s clothes are sewn on so I can’t change those. In place of clothing, though, he has six or seven stories that come with these magical light up accessories. I have just purchased the last two out of the six easier to find sets. The final one has a lot of accessories along with a plastic replica of the “story box“ from TJ‘s stories to keep all of the cartridges and stories in. That one has five or six different accessories and it is around $97 the last time I saw it.

Hi, Shawn! No apps for this old guy. He is controlled by a remote. Depending on what mode he is in the remote will make him do different things. In each mode you can do so many different things. He is quite complicated because the buttons are small and close together and their functions change depending on the mode.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 how much is he normally on eBay? Would you say he’s blind friendly? What batteries does he take?

@@crazyrobotlady3391 do you happen to have Pamela the living doll? I’m trying to figure out, also, if there are any forms on Julie. Just curious on your thoughts. Have you ever seen Pamela the living doll? She was made by worlds of wonder.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 I meant forums. Like a blog posts. There was one with many different comments about Pamela. She seemed to be very popular when she came out.

Could you understand him? A lot of people have complained that his speech isn’t very clear. Basically he said something like, “I am Isobot, created by the geniuses at Tomy. I am the worlds smallest fully functioning by pedal robot. I have 17 servos each one about 14 mm. That’s about this size.“ Then he starts demonstrating his flexibility. Look at my impressive articulation! I can even walk like this.“ And he demonstrates how he can walk and all of that, and then he says “ I may only be 6 1/2 inches tall, but I have the technology of much larger robots. enough bragging for now. You can discover the rest of my abilities on your own.“

@@crazyrobotlady3391 I understood most of it! Some of it that I didn't, I was distracted by something else (joys of sitting by the window in a new to me apartment. lol).

That box was ridiculous. I have never come across a box that hard to open. It was sealed. I mean, there was sticky stuff on all the flaps and all of them except for the lid were on the inside of the box.

@@crazyrobotlady3391 Sounds almost like some of the premade mailing boxes, but I don't think I've ever run into one that stuck up. Wow.

@@Tam.I.am. yeah I mean, this thing was sealed all the way around with that aggressive adhesive seal stuff. It must’ve been a premade mailing box. It was a bugger to open I know that much.
