What Would You Have Done For This Kid?
มุมมอง 3262 หลายเดือนก่อน
As we in EMS know far too well, our patients never seemingly get hurt ANYWHERE easy to access. Middle of a room? Nope. Stuck in a crevasse in the middle of a canyon? Sounds more accurate! Not only was this quite the story, but also raises the question. What would you have done for this kid? Let us know in the comments below!

Saw at EMS World, great training tool!
Congratulations Lisa & Scott! ❤
Perfect!
Wendy is a rock star!
Like Scott’s use of “little whiff of ketamine” in this one. For the younger generation that just means a little bit at a time 😉
thank you! 8.6

Excellent! Going to look for the keychain version of a carbon monoxide detector!
This is fascinating!
Thanks for the info..
It would be far more useful to have it adjust by actual body mass, not age alone
Yep. The thinking behind this wheel is extremely narrow and normative.
As it tells you the weight when you dial it to the age, you can also simply dial it to the weight. There, problem solved.
Best video on catheter! All the doubts got cleared. Thanks!
How to measure cvp
You have to hook the transducer to the distal/brown port of a triple lumen
wow! I can imagine that being really intimidating! Glad you guys can help with furr babies!
Oh Scott! So glad to see you on the video. Another one goes to Florida. What a loss for us back in Chicagoland.
Scott is Loving Florida and doing so much better loving life and he is even working as a medic at Universal Studios 🤩
😂🎉❤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm truly blessed by this video of Tripple Lumen Catheter. May God convert your dreams into reality. Thank you so much 🙏.
So happy you found it helpful we are here if you need us 😊
hahaha! I love your nephew's acting skills!
Yes to shocked 😲😳 there heart to be fired normal at the chest. My friend ICD went off as he gave me a hug 🫂🤗 and he was shocked and I felt it go off and I got a nasty bruise chest.
🦢 this for sure falls under the no good deed going unpunished law of the wild👀🦅😂
So clever!! The tips, not the birds - those stinkers!!!
He refused to wear his ❤ shirt so we hid all of his black shirts! 😂
OMGosh! Scott is wearing a WHITE shirt... it must be a special day! lol
Love this! Happy Valentine's Day you guys!!
Simply the best Pediatric Training available!
Mark, from you that is a true compliment! We LOVE your training videos and classes too!! 🤩
Fantastic!!
Love these guys and all their work on improving patient care as it will effect all levels of medicine especially with kids ❤ This should’ve gotten first place for even the thought of changing anything about the old BVMs
Thanks so much, Lisa! Love the video and what you guys are doing at Pedi-Ed-Trics. Appreciate all your support over the years. Keep up the great work!
love this and you all so much!!
Love you guys!! ❤
This is really cool. Saving babies 🙌🏽
Ooooh good to know 🤓
Glad you found this video helpful! We wanted to allow educators to be creative but not destroy the mani-kids.... We just found that any kind of sticky adhesives left on too long (more than a couple hours) starts to remove the ink and can break down the images. They still work but we love the realism so wanted to pass that tip along. Thanks for commenting - let us know if you have any suggestions/ideas to share too 😊
This is the most clever and intuitive learning tool I’ve seen!!! Amazing
I’m curious what materials that a child could get into that they would need to be decontaminated after being in contact with? Could you guys share an example please. I work in a rural hospital as a newly licensed LPN and really appreciate the learning opportunity from you guys.
Happily decon & kids is not commonly needed, but does occur most common: organophosphate / fertilizer exposure kids who get into lots of garage chemicals -Scott
@@pediedtrics oh interesting! I never thought of fertilizer as an example. The car seat trick is a great thing for me to know and share with other nurses. There’s lot of farming around here
Directly From: Angie to your Decon question Children are very curious and can get into many different types of substances that may require decontamination. These vary widely and can range from household cleaners to agricultural chemicals. Sadly, some children are also exposed to chemicals involved in the making of illicit substances, such as living in a home where meth is made. Additionally, children must be considered in any disaster event, whether accidental or intentional. In the case of bad actors who wish to cause harm, we must consider decontaminating children from chemicals or radiological/nuclear materials.
@@lisadeboer179 thanks for the information
Love the idea! Would seem, at some point, the manikid would get a pretty large hole in that spot or caregivers would see the hole and not be able to see the landmarks. That gave me some ideas and questions. 1. Would we be able to purchase just the manikid that we need because it's no longer usable due to the hole we placed in it? 2. Would it be possible to get a set / or series of Manikids that have a precut hole and a disposable commodity that we would have students drill into? So, after class is completed, we throw the drilled-up hole away and replace it with a new disposable section. 3. Love the chucks idea. I'm betting you could put a sealed sandwich bag full of gel blood to simulate bone marrow. Guess what's on my lesson plan for tomorrow? IO in peds. Guess what I'll be trying out!? Thanks for the tip, love you guys. Keep being awesome!!! John Jay Co. Jr. Sr. High School
Would only drill ONE hole (put one of your IO training legs near the mani-kid if you want them to practice actual IO placement) and leave the single hole that you set up with the IO into the chux before they play (of course we always want to keep students safe and keep liquid from getting all over the place). This will allow students to be able to push fluids and practice meds into something other than a cup. ALWAYS remove anything with any kind of adhesives like a stabilizer before storing (as per SIS mani-kid instructions never leave anything on mani-kids for more than a couple hours and always remove even moulage prior to storing to maintain quality of the images). 😊
Wow that is so cool!

I had croup when I was nine years old taken to the hospital and put in a oxygen tent and given shots twice a day for ten days.
Thank you for this tutorial. I need this continuously for reenforcement
Great 👍 thanks so much.

I don't have this device in my chest. Have Cardiomyopathy and heart failure 💔🙏💀🧬🧠😱🫣🤗🥱🤡🤥 and I had a bad case for my COVID 19 viruses 3 times and the last one was a worsted one.
I have heart failure diagnosed in 2004. A recent MRI heart scan found more scarring , and my cardiologist recommended a defibrillator to be fitted just waiting time now
Excellent
Can you please explain why again the need for a check valve in IV tubing when administering vasopressors? He was a little fast and hard to understand.
