Alicia takes on 100 miles, October 2024. Her longest ride up to this point was just over 50. I was wrecked after my first century, but she made hers look easy! Rode from Hamilton to Missoula, MT on the "Bitterroot Trail." Filmed with the Insta360 x4.

❤😊
I love your dog
We do, too!
That is a cute tongue!! Everything about him is cute, actually❤️
This is my dog on hikes…it makes me want to not take him out, but I also know he needs the exposure to learn
Don't repeat "sit" command over and over. Use the command once and then use your hand to touch his tail bone/spine and keep your leg close to his hip and side to guide him back to a sitting position. It has to be a fluid and coordinated move with confidence and purpose. When you do it right, he won't resist and before you know it, he'll be sitting without any guidance and one firm command.
@@lydiaking322 We know the struggle! It does pay off to keep at it; Rocky's not perfect, but his reaction to dogs is so much better now than 2 years ago. He's almost curious now about dogs instead of terrified.
@@heynow01 Great advice!
@@ALandMe-2011I find it best to do the "sit" command and other training techniques as well practiced and accomplished in a non distraction training area first. Then move to controlled distractions (your own), then finally introduce real life unplanned distractions. My goal is to have my dog look at me for direction. I like to make it be his goal to please me and get affection as his reward. Don't over do it. No more than 10 min training sessions, if he doesn't respond well. Limit the time to a maximum 15- 20 min if he is doing well. Usually twice a day sessions work for me, but go by what your dog can handle well. The idea is to get a good line of communication between the both of you. If he gets frustrated and doesn't know what you want or you don't know what he wants, it makes training sessions fail. Not trying to be preaching but, I went through this just recently with a friends 80 lb PB. It made me really have to think clearly on how to help her. She was completely untrained and rough housing with everyone and other dogs were a major trigger for fighting. She wouldn't walk on a leash without going crazy and was on her way to being given up on. I offered to see if I could help him try to get her under control. After about six sessions the owner now has established his role as master and now she's enjoying her daily training sessions and is on her way to being a great asset to the family, instead of a liability.
@@heynow01 thank you! Will add this to my toolbelt.
I can tell by the way I am walking that I just did my leg workout before this hike😄😄 Beautiful hike and great weather for November in Montana!
Stunning hike!
Yes he is and a pretty boy too!!
