Using the 'Workshop' module for self and peer assessment in Moodle
มุมมอง 27K12 ปีที่แล้ว
For comments or questions, please use www.iteachwithmoodle.com/2012/09/30/using-the-workshop-module-for-self-and-peer-assessment-in-moodle The workshop module is a little used Moodle module that allows teachers and students to self/peer assess work. This is a re-run of the presentation I ran at the MoodleMoot Hong Kong 2012. It is not a tutorial to create a workshop activity in Moodle. For this...

New blocks 'Interface' in Moodle 2.0
มุมมอง 1.3K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Moodle 2.0 allows for much greater flexibility in the way blocks are displayed in course pages. You now easily have the ability to display your courses in 1, 2 or 3 column layout. Very useful for smaller screens such as laptops and netbooks.

Make your own crossword using Moodle
มุมมอง 9K14 ปีที่แล้ว
Students love games - Making a crossword available to your students might motivate them to learn vocabulary more so than just learning off a list. Here is how to do it. This video is available up to 1080p.
Frederic, I see that you no longer have the Moodle site available. Did you migrate the content to another Moodle site?
I like the video but the font is pretty small. For visual learners its hard to follow. Please zoom in or enlarge font.
My students can't see their peer comments. Can someone please help me? Is there a hotline to call or somewhere I can get some help with this issue?
Great lesson! Thank you! Could you please, share what soft you used to create this video, if possible?
Let's say that we had 300 students in a class. Should each student assess rest of 299 students work. Is there any customization to set a limit for student assessment work.
You can click random assessment and each student will get 5 of their peers submission. Or you can choose a number yourself.
Are the badges you create here just labels that show up after activity completion, or do they show on the user profile as badges, visible to other users?
This video was recorded before Moodle officially supported badges. These are just labels/images.
How can you write the titles with that font and the blue background?
I think I used Photoshop to create an image.
Isn't it possible for students to simply increment the numbers in the URL in order to get all the badges? (eg. 1.php, 2.php, 3.php, etc.)
Yes it would be. One way to get around this would be to use hashes for image names.
Thank you for this!
Great video!
Good video. Perhaps quite slow when you have some skills in Moodle, but even that, is clear and detailed. It should be nice to link this video with a real example of workshop module of any teacher.
Thks for this helpful tuto
Is there any way to display some grades (as level indicators) in a course homepage?
+Luis Mur Lalaguna Did you find the way to do that, please?
+Rodrigue Roland Not yet. It would be a good option for next moodle releases
Very interesting and usseful. Thanks for sharing!
sorry, this is a terrible video. Just explain how to get things done, cut the repetition. It's a real disappointment to find that Moodle Workshop used to be great -- and now is a mess.
And no help anywhere. Maybe the makers of Moodle has a help line? Why are the makers of this video so silent. They posted the video and then rode off into the sunset.
Awesome Video!!! Please let me know what is the first image "Design Cycle" Please share about that.. Thank you
I am very impressed by this. Simple, elegant and effective. Will be utilising this skill! Thanks for sharing!!!
Really useful thanks Frederic as usual. Am I right in thinking that the peer assessments are anonymous?
Nice video. Is it possible that you share your course. Im a teacher in Holland and it would be great if i can translate and use your moodle course ( computer science ).
Which version of Moodle is?
Great work. It will keep the participants engaged.
Terrific ideas!!
great tutorial, thanks for share!
very helpful thanks alot
Dear Federic, I found your presentation very helpful to understand the peer assessment procedure in general and in moodle. Might it possible to reuse your presentation? I would like to translate it in german and add screenshots of Moodle to it. Your feedback would be appreciated.
Excellent presentation! The explanation is very visual. I liked it!
This is awesome! The use of digital badges is an exciting way to engage students. I can't wait to add this to my course.
Hi Nellie, I cannot paste links in the comments section. Please take a look at the video description
Very interesting! Thank you
I have just recommended this. However, with badges in 2.5, why do this?
This looks great but I teach online. I have students starting the course all year long. Is there any way that this can be adapted so that the phases are continuous? I don't have all my students handing thing in at the same time. Do you have any suggestions?
I'm doing the same thing in an online creative writing workshop. I think this program is for F2F and used every now and then. Isn't there a number to call, somehow to get some help? Does anyone teach an online class with a continuous workshop who could help?
Please recommend this to all Moodlers!
Definitely have to try this
I'm so excited about this video! Thank you. You've come up with a cool use for "labels".
This is good system of lecturing in the sens that you can access more explanations from more lecture in the sometime ,j continue my works ,j hope by using this method j can get the lesson enouph with low costly in short time
