Coastal Homestead Prep & Cook Series Sweet Potato Yam Leaf
Hi, beyond organic flower, herb and veggie urban farmer in zone 10b Los Angeles as well. I knew you were from LA just by the cinderblock wall. Hori Hori is also our fav tool. We focus on flowers because of the lack of locally grown flowers in the US, soil health, (no dig) and beneficial insects. We don’t use started plants (everything from seed, tuber, bulb, or corm) I also tweaked my back (7 herniated discs) please be careful. Just became a new subscriber.
Hi l am Roseanne. Just please l ask you a question I have a citrus trees l don't know why when it comes to fruit and they start growing they drop. I gave some citrus fertilizer ? Thanks l wish there is something to survive.and is in the pots . Thanks
Hi Roseanne! That sounds frustrating, citrus trees like well draining soil so if it’s in a pot make sure it is draining thru. Consistent moisture, but also never dries out. Also don’t over fertilize, that can also cause dropping of fruit. If it’s a young tree, that could also be why it’s not able to sustain fruit, and drops. Depending where you are, taking your question to a local nursery so they can see a sample of leaves and photos directly to help pinpoint and troubleshoot the situation.
Thank you so much l am glad to hear from you. I'm from Australia 😊
@@rosannemuscat241 oh! Look up instagram.com/sahars_suburban_garden/ She's my friend and she has an entire series on citrus.
I love the video and can’t wait to see more! I’m glad I’m not the only one that plants radishes that way!
Yay! Who has the time to place them one by one?!
So helpful for my winter garden here in Southern California, thank you!
I’m so glad ❤️ more to come on Saturday AMs!
"This is not cute"?! Excue you! That's not true!

She needs her own pot with dirt in it so she can relax
Haha !! Think she would leave mine alone then? I’d totally do it if she would 🤣
Absolutely beautiful dog you have ❤❤️🙂
@@maxmari53 thank you 🙏🏻 she really is! I adopted her almost exactly a year ago

I just got some in the mail today! Looking to see who else is using them. 😁
Yes! They’re great, except you have to make sure they don’t dry out too fast. That would be my only advice!
@coastalhomestead Thank you! 🌱🥰🌱
Can you do the same with tomato plants?
Yes you can!
I'm born in December but I also live in Alaska 😢😂
Hmmmm. Start some indoor gardening?! 😉
@ ooooh good idea 🙂

The ending 💀
Grapes and raisins will poison a dog !
Correct! my grapes are not where they have access 😉
Still a puppy. Still learning. Teach them to be proud of themselves and have the patience. Dont give up on this cutie. 🎉
Haha she is super cute and fools everyone! Shes actually a rescue we adopted almost a year ago, and probably around 3 yrs old ❤️
Checking the quality control and the growth of the trees!!
She takes her job VERY seriously 🤣
@ Love That and I’m a Dog Lover & Cats Too!
This is why soft parenting doesn’t work. If I tell my cats ‘get your ass down’ they get their ass down. I don’t even have to get the fuck up. Discipline and structure. It doesn’t only work for children, but it works for animals too.
I hope these kind of flower will apply to cacao flowers when I hand pollinate it. 😂😅
😂❤
Where did you get them from?
Ok, I just saw the Amazon flash. You should send me the link :-)
@@THsWife link.coastalhomestead.com/amzn/VeradekFluted see if that works!!

What other support do you have for it? What’s hanging from a tree branch? Lol o can’t tell. Cute boys!
this just made my day
Yeah... but I'm not planting bamboo for privacy screening or aesthetics. I'm planting it because I can cut it down often and turn it into bio-char, garden/yard/park mulch, compost, and fencing material that I don't have to spend out the yang for. I don't plant anything without at least one purpose, and I definitely wouldn't plant anything that spreads without installing a barrier that goes down at least a foot. Most species of bamboo do spread, but there are some varieties that grow in clumps if you're really worried about it. Whatever you think you want to grow in your yard, do some research first so you know what to expect, and you aren't surprised.
Nice set up and grat harvest ❤
Bamboo is invasive in the United States
How about a natural and cheaper way to do a boundary wall?🤔
Plexiglass about a foot deep should work.
Omg u just save me , I’m renovating my house next year I’m actually , LITERALLY planning to get bamboo trees for my front yard , good god
I grow clumping bamboo. Several years and still a small patch. I use the culms for garden stakes. Avoid the running bamboo species.
Snails 🐌 are always eating my seedlings
Mexican bamboo
Thank you for the information
It's great if you want a ready supply of firewood.
Not only that, aside from it being extremely invasive, your neighbors can sue you and force you to pay to have their ground excavated and have it removed as it will damage concrete and invade their property as well. my aunt recently had to take legal action against her neighbor because the roots do not go very deep and surface all over her lawn, which became a tripping hazard, they now have to pay something like seven or eight thousand dollars to have her lawn dug up and fresh sod, put down 😂😂😂 the funniest part was, they tried sneaking onto the property multiple times to cut away the routes that had surfaced, so there was no visible evidence without digging up the lawn. so I spent fifty dollars on a security camera. end of story, absolutely hilarious, because they were incredibly p***** off even though when they first planted it, we told them not to because of that exact reason. idiots
Wowwwww that’s a pretty crazy story for “just” bamboo 🤣
@curtis.carpenter thanks for sharing!
It's illegal to plant in a lot of areas because it can't be stopped.
Disagree, just plant clumping bamboo.
I had a small single bamboo plant that was a starter plant, and after 3 to 4 years, somehow new growth started showing up 10 feet away, where I planted a dwarf tangerine tree. When they are young, they make a great decorative landscaping plant. I had to look for these new starter plants to pull them out of the soil asap. The thin ones look like thin asparagus plants with black bands. They propagated way to easy.
Yes it’s weed but it grows fast and tall. My friend has some that reach 40 feet. We chop it down and turn it into a stick figure and attach a bucket 🪣 to the top stuffed with fireworks 💥 we set it on fire 🔥 and call it our mini Burning Man party. Eventually the party grew so big he had to change the name to Bamboozilla because he was threatened with a lawsuit for copyright infringement.
Are you telling me the people who run burning man threatened a random residential homeowner with a lawsuit? i sincerely doubt that unless you were charging people or advertising. This event publicly, that would be illogical and make no sense, unless of course, one of your neighbors decided to go above and beyond being the typical obnoxious neighbor. even then, in this situation, given the facts that you just claimed, I still don't believe that at all.
