Hi everyone, welcome to my channel :) I'm an Australian based cash game semi professional with about $150K USD in profit over the last 2 years. I'll be posting live play and explains as well as hand history reviews so please tune in if you enjoy the content. I also offer cash game coaching - mostly for people playing 200nl and below. If you like the way I think about the game and want to improv...
Been enjoying these play and explains. You isolate limpers with a larger sizing than I'm used to seeing from other regs, and with a fairly wide range even versus sub 40 stackers. Gives me something to think about.
Have you noticed the 25z pool being smaller than normal recently? Seems like the games barely have 50 players even during peak US times
Thankyou for this! (From a hardstuck 25nl player) I'm also in Australia, what time is the zone pool playable? Whenever I jump on there's no one there 😂
No worries :) The zone pools pretty much all die from 6pm onwards AEST. I think they run from early morning and throughout the day
1st subscriber, 1st comment: Amazing format Jako, I really like it, it matchs what the average poker player is looking for ! I will get in touch to you soon to become your number one student. Maybe not the first one but for sure, the number 1. Cheers and keep up the excellent work !
Good informative video, would like to see more of these in the future.
Does this apply to both cash and tourneys? I only really play MTT's, so keen to understand if this applies, or is universally good across either?
@@AndyDouglasChannel while the general tendency of being too passive will apply in MTTs, the ranges will be quite different because of antes and the effective stack size. So I would only apply this directly to cash games
@@JakoPoker thank you for the response. Found the video really helpful.
gold. looking forward to the next topics.
thanks for the vid. definitely something to start adjusting in my own game
Great content! Question: how do you see the avg pot size and your VPIP? Is that a 3rd party software?
Thanks mate, drivehud2 tracks all of those things for me :)
Who plays on Ignition? What kind of site is that?
Mainly Australians and Americans play on Ignition
graph ?!
@@ChristianWick-nn6th for the session? I can try and add this for the future. I have a video with my overall results which is pretty recent if you’re also interested in that.
At 21:40 you checked what he called down with, how do you see that on ignition?
The button right next to the hand replayer (the button that looks like two cards) will show you what both players had if the hand went to showdown. I think I must have already had it open on my other monitor hence why you didn't see me click on it
@@JakoPoker ahhh thankyou!:) On another note, would coaching sessions do any good for me? Kinda stuck playing .10/.25c on ignition😅 I feel I can play alright against the 9max fish, but always get rekt playing 6max/zone.
Are you ever concerned about running into RTA users/colluders when playing on ignition? I gave ignition a try earlier this month after a year long hiatus and was shocked how many pots ended up all in multiway with action that made zero sense
yeah absolutely its an issue - hence why I'm pretty careful table selecting and identifying where my winrate on the table is coming from. As long as there are soft spots I think I have a positive winrate even if some of that is being taken up by colluders
I know you’ve said the extent of your study doesn’t go past free YT vids and hand history discussions with other regs. How high do you think you could go with 6 months to a year of solid coaching.
@@stilesmwhite6625 are you talking me personally? Or for yourself? There’s definitely plenty of room for me to get stronger theoretically and/or learn some more MDA exploits. These are the highest stakes on ignition, so it’s more that further coaching would help solidify my winrate
What’s ur winrate in these games?
@@andrewcampbell9695 Running at about 9bb/100 on the year, but I don’t expect that to last long term
@@JakoPoker cool keep it going!
The KhTh hand was sweet, thats what it takes to be a good poker player. Also your mouse cursor is way less swirly, thanks for that.
@@T.G.Lautenschlaeger thank you :). Yeah it’s a funky hand - glad it worked out!
@@JakoPoker The A2o hand where you checked the stats and recent agression was <1.0 dont you prefer to bet the flop if villian is barely probing the turn?
@@T.G.Lautenschlaeger sorry can you give me a timestamp?
@@JakoPoker 20:43
@@T.G.Lautenschlaeger Since we 3b a super polarised range from bb we have a lot of trash hands in our range which are doing really bad on this board, so we need to implement lots of checks. GTO is mixing 60% check here with range. So A2o is going to be a nice candidate check back where there isn't too much EV to be gained by betting for value whereas we can protect our checking range and gain EV by bluff catching turns and rivers. Our hand isn't worth 3 streets of value so no need to start betting flop even if we think villain is passive on turns.
I thought 1k and 2k full of hand sharing accounts
You’re not wrong, I tread carefully most of the time
Hey Jako, love the videos! What software are you using for the ignition HUD? Do you know if they're allowed by ignition, or more of a gray unenforced area - I'm somewhat interested in using autoHotkey and just wondering if that's bannable.
@@KevinWu-js2qz thank you mate :) I use drivehud2 which is allowed. I don’t know what autoHotkey is so can’t speak for that
Hey mate, new to the game getting into poker. Long time listener, first time commenter. Love your stuff. How much is personal coaching?
Is it not banned to use a HUD on ignition?
@@harrychan6814 they are allowed and not against ToS to my knowledge. But obviously being an anonymous site ignition limits a HUD from tracking people over time across multiple tables, so they’re significantly less effective
Ahh cool thanks mate, what time of day do you find is the best to multi-table cash games in AEST? I’m only doing 4 tables of 50NL but just wondering if you had any insight
Great video Jako, knock off work early on a Friday and get a sneaky session of poker in mate? Have you ever dealt with a lengthy downswing and do you have any tips for dealing with it?
Hahaha had the arvo off. Dealing with downswings is easiest with a strong mental game - so making sure that is in good order would be my recommendation. Check out the 'Mental game of poker' by Jared Tendler if you haven't come across it.
@@JakoPoker yeah I started reading it, I should finish it actually lol. I've been trying out a few moves of yours in my low limit online games, my favourite is overbet cbet sb v bb, that seems to work like a charm, thanks for that!
Same fella from that sherdogg training site?
Nope! You'll only find me on this channel :)
Solid explanations. You won a sub!
hey man, love your videos and I'm learning alot. What would you say is the best tool to help improve my game? Thanks!
Thank you mate! GTO Wizard will be the easiest/most accessible tool to use - it's free to make an account, so worth checking it out if you're not across it :)
I like the discussion of timing tells when the guy snap raised huge, if I ever play aginst you just gotta make sure to snap raise the nuts lol
Well i'll know who it is now when I start running into the nuts in this spot :P. Thanks for watching :)
Nice video! I've heard a lot of bad press about ignition inn terms of bots and collusion.. Any thoughts on that?
The bad press at high stakes is certainly warranted. However if you're playing at micro/low/mid stakes it really shouldn't be much of an issue.
your intense mouse swirling when you explain something, makes me nervous >_<
I agree hahaha, I don't like it when watching it back either. It's an indication i'm deep in thought! But I will try an minimise it when recording because it is quite distracting.
@@JakoPoker thank you very much.
Thought the 4bb was to induce also. Hey love your content. Thanks for putting it out there for us to watch and learn from. How long do you usually play your sessions? What practices do you use to ensure high level of engagement / decision making etc. One of my biggest leaks is playing too long and then declining into making mistakes. Cheers
My sessions are generally just dependent on how good the tables are - ranging typically from 1-4 hours. I think having self awareness as to how well you're playing from a mental game standpoint is important - I suggest try to identify what mental leaks creep in when you've been playing too long, and then as soon as you notice those leaks creeping in you should take a break or end your session. For example one leak might be getting distracted too easily and scrolling on your phone in between hands.
@@JakoPoker Yes, good point. Basically I deviate from my A game after I exhaust the number of good folds I can make, then bunder (injustice tilt I believe). It is biggest inhibitor to winrate. On another note, I really liked seeing those massive pots at 200nl yesterday. Keep up the great work (and play).
That in session graph that pops up on your HUD is from Drivehud? You can see the in session graph for everyone else at the table as well? You know the occasional Ignition disconnections and reconnections? How does the HUD do after one of those? I use card catcher + PT4 and after those brief disconnections it often stops tracking or sometimes you get the wrong tables stats overlaid on another table. So annoying have to close everything and start over or play blind. Same issues with this one? Oh and your coaching link doesn't work it just takes you to typeform's site.
Let’s gooo these videos are sick. Keep up the good work
Great video man. Interesting flop call with 64ss vs flop raise - I expect his raises to be a lot of sets and 2 pair 66, 77, 67, Q7s, Q6s which obviously we are doing pretty poorly against. It seemed like more of a timing/pool read because he snap raised but are we better off calling with club and diamond combos when you have the backdoor instead? Just think he barrels turn so often and you are folding basically everything that is not a 6?
We certainly have more EV when we have the backdoor flush - but that's not really asking the right question. Ultimately we just want to identify whether 64 of spades has higher EV by calling compared to when we just fold. Irrespective of the timing tells, continuing 64 spades here is probably marginally +EV - we do have to fold a bunch of turns, but as you identified we also block a significant portion of his value region (66,67,Q6) so we can also choose to hero down if we think he's overbluffing. There are also significant implied odds associated with the 6 in particular.
But isn't that last hand a bluffcatcher ? Since you unblock bluffs like JT, KQ one diamond, KJ one diamond, 77, every 9x he has, even perhaps smaller pocket pairs with one diamond. Isn't Villian bet polarizing ?
@@JICM25 yes it is also a bluffcatcher, but I don’t think it has great properties to make it an attractive call - we really want to block his flush combos for example. I also decided that this was an underbluffed sizing structure so I landed on call being the worst of my options
loved the last hand. very interesting to review

@@joeljoeljoel thanks mate. I generally use GTOwizard to study + review hand histories with other high stakes regs.
@@JakoPoker Thanks. I might need to checkout GTO wizard again.
How long do your sessions usually last? Do you start the recordings at the beginning or near the end of your session?
@@SamiElHyadi generally just record at the start of my sessions. My sessions generally last 1-5 hours just based on how good the tables are.

another great vid there Jako. How do you see what villains have when they muck?
The button to the right of the hand replayer (it looks like two cards) will take you to the hand history which shows villains hand (if they called on river). This just opens up on another screen for me so hence why you don't see it on the recording.
@@JakoPoker I've been playing on ignition for over a year and never knew that lol thanks
@@patrickbrowning6927 LOL. Well you will be happy to know you can also look up all hole cards a day or two after. Hands that didn't go to showdown. You can upload them into your tracking software and review sessions with perfect information.
i love it brother living my dream, do you think ignition is up there with gg and everything for cash grinding
Thank you! Ignition is a super soft low stakes pool, and then it can be good at mid-high stakes as long as you're aware that you're running into some bots (there is a lot of evidence of bots/collusion on high stakes ignition).

against a villain who almost never folds to 3 bets, when they open, what should we do with hands like A5s out of position? Or what about A5s in position. Thanks!
@@jkdfsht if they never fold to 3b I would size up your 3b size and 3b stronger hands (you don’t need to 3b bluffs against this player). Depending on exact positions (and how high the rake is) calling with A5s is going to be fine. If villain is opening too wide and also not folding to a 3b, then A5s should be good enough to 3b for value
