"...for thousands of years, originating from Zen Buddhism." Zen Buddhism didn't reach Japan until the 12th century. This is pretty inaccurate for a segment titled "a quick history lesson".

They worked so hard to be so popular and as me i was born in hk and my all time fave is edan or keungTo. Still keung to gets so much hate and he cried of happieness and sadness in the ceromony when he won

Thank you for pointing out that Marie Kondo wouldn't have been able to gain popularity if minimalism was ubiquitous in Japan. That really hit me.

Thank you! I for a long time had an appreciation for the japanese way of design, especially when it comes to books and magazines i.e. written stuff as well as displaying cluttered, yet still organized, spaces, but never could point my finger at or look it up. So this video(series) is exactly what I was looking for! 😁🤩😉

I loooove your videos I’m so invested in this series, it’s so interesting to finally find someone who talks about Japanese design. Have you considered working on Japanese religious culture ? It’s so interesting and not talked enough about, the drawings and building hold so much information and meaning I would love to see a video about that.

Gaming doesnt ruin eyes reading books does. In fact gaming improves eyesight and reaction speed and if you do it competetively also intelligence and strategic thinking. Recent studies also show to decrease in impulsivity and emotional over reaction. However this could be genre specific.

Living in Japan for more than 3 years now, I have to say that any folder or other Ad piece looks like your grandma made using poor power point and internet skills. Official documentation looks like it was made on a typewriter. Not even a single company logo. I really struggle to find useful information on Packages. Most of the information presented is garbage. Not useful all. Most are “fake statements “ about the product. Try to find a weight, volume or natural fruit percentage on a package. Good luck. But at same time you fell minimalism is present in other forms on your day. Japan is a country of extremes.

I do like maximalism when they are well made. The maximalism you presented in the video is the perfect example of that. I'd like to get to know more about this kind of japanese design.

Anyways I agree that sometimes we should care about aesthetics -- it's why I hate modern/minimalist architecture so much. It's so soulless and corporate and people defend it by saying that it's cheaper to build, but the areas with modern architecture are the most expensive anyways! I hate this new wave so much. Even brutalism is better because although it's grey and drab, at least it has some texture. Efficiency can be beautiful, but it's not to me, at least, when it's been taken over by the rich. Fuck modernism (in architecture).

Also there may or may not be a sand shortage and what is so prevalent in modernist designs? GLASS

@dansman1729 I just feel like the title is misleading and the overview still doesn't really answer how it manipulates your mind specifically, but just the overall trends

I'm japanese and I only watch English TH-cam Channels only because ours are nowhere close to the minimalism and I hate it. English ones are less crowded for me. everytime I hear that insane amount of SFX in japanese youtube video it drives me insane.

I think cuteness also has the same effect as sex. Usually sex could be used in shocked value or arousal. But kawaii uses a part of our brain that wants to protect it or take care of it. Like how a baby do! If sex sells so do cuteness!

Romans 3:23 “For ALL HAVE SINNED and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 (KJV) “For the WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-7 “For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. Then he appeared to over five hundred brothers and sisters at one time; most of them are still alive, but some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.” 1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” 1 John 3:8 “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” Acts 3:19 (KJV) “REPENT ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “REPENT and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Jesus saves.❤
