also one question. how did you configure the GUS soundfont? mine sounds like random placed notes on deafault and after configuration :P

It’s just a zip file called dgguspat.zip. I just put it in the soundfonts folder, select it, and that’s what I record with. I didn’t change anything else. Windows is a piece of shit so my website is down, for now just Google search it and you’ll find it pretty much right away.

I haven’t but I probably will. It sounds a lot like E3M3 which I also love.

Fluidsynth is a synth, not a soundfont, so either you’re using a different soundfont than gzdoom.sf2, or you changed a bunch of options that make it sound way different, or both. I loopback the audio into Audacity on a Mac with 32-bit depth, and render the videos’ audio at this depth too, and I didn’t do any customization to the default Fluidsynth with gzdoom.sf2, so how it sounds on here is just… how it sounds normally if you don’t change anything.

@@demonizedsoundtracks its possible the openal i use on linux has made these changes, im talking things like certain instruments clearly being louder than here

Maybe you should make a louder Linux version then! XD I hate Linux and I'm not going to, sadly.

@@demonizedsoundtracks Idk but when i play this map with project brutality, its always crashing. But when i play this map with brutal doom v22, it feel diffrent, smooth and less crash.

I use gzdoom 4.12.2, im try using GUS midi device and it says "falling back to fluidsynth". What gzdoom version do you have? (I have bad english, sorry)

@@Hayqalali 4.11.3. The reason why the GUS midi device isn't working is because you need the zip, and a very specific one. I don't even use the GUS option in GZDoom because it's basically useless. Just use Timidity with the zip: www.doomworld.com/idgames/music/dgguspat

That’s precisely why I do it XD - the same game can sound different depending on how you play it, so I try to accommodate. Plus it’s just 69% cooler.

I tried a bunch of different SC-55 soundfonts, I picked the one that I felt was represented the best. One of the other ones might have been more authentic, I wouldn’t really know, but this one seems close enough to me. Thanks for the info though, I might use it at some point if it is drastically different from the one I use for this stuff.

@@demonizedsoundtracks Though, it's not soundfont, it's emulator, for which you'd need ROMs.
