My name is Herb. I live in Bucks County, PA (zone 7a) and got hooked on figs a little over a year ago. Follow along with me as I learn how to grow and propagate these little wonders of nature.
A Few Figs Ready To Eat
I've been eating figs for several weeks now. I love them in my salad and we even made some fig jam.

Some of my rooted cuttings are now ready to go into a larger pot. I know they'll thank me for it.

The birds are hungry this year and really like my figs. I'm trying to find the best way to get more of my figs for myself.
Snake Infestation in the Fig Garden

While I have seen a few snakes in the fig garden, the snakes I see now are rubber. They look pretty real to me - but apparently not to the birds. They're not really afraid of the rubber snakes. Who is? So they continue to get to the figs a day before I do. Let me know if you have any ideas that work for you.

So are these cuttings just planted this season? Can they grow this quick? I mean this season still has some time to go , so these cuttings will be huge . Is it blue or black figs ? Thanks for the post, always wanted a fig tree/bush
These are all this year’s cuttings.
My cuttings I rooted in March are only 6 inches tall at most how do you get them to grow so fast?

They spend winters in my garage or attic.

Yes, I do sell some cuttings. Also some small trees such as the ones in this video. But they are for local pickup or delivery only.

How do you know when it's time to up pot? I noticed you didn't separate any roots before putting it in the new pot. Is that traditionally what you do?
I separate the roots only when the tree is really root-bound. I try to up-pot when I think the roots have developed enough to the point where they’re not yet root-bound but may be soon.

I don't think it was a mistake since you were able to remove the fig without losing any roots

Few days ago I uncovered my figs, and one has small figlets. Hope it will survive spring
