    Hey, isn't the introduction a bit misleading? From what I've understood, ML Deformer is not the equivalent of corrective blend shapes in unreal. There are morph targets and pose drivers for that. But ML deformed is a new Unreal addition to training the skeletal mesh with large simulation data to estimate accurate mesh deformations for skeletal movements. I think that ML-deformer is intended to eliminate the need to make corrective blend-shapes driven by complex drivers in the rigging process, saving man-hours and getting superior results over traditional methods. But your video helped me to get a general understanding of how ML deformer works in unreal.

    Hi, regarding the head which is not colliding with the cloth, even in yours the clothing in the collar its going downwards, have you fixed it please and how ? thanks

      Solution is to import the combined mesh from Maya & simulate on that mesh instead of your BP Metahuman

    Hello thanks for this amazing tutorial, my problem is when I load the dress in a meta human who is animated body and face , the cloth goes behind the neck area ,in other parts of body is fine . I understand u need to put another combined meta human , but how to combine them ?

      Yes, it is happening currently, I need to test another option using export the metahuman from Bridge to Maya, in that you will get combined mesh.

      Solution is to import the combined mesh from Maya & simulate on that mesh instead of your BP Metahuman

      When import the Metahuman from bridge to Maya, search in the outliner in Maya the word “combined”. You’ll find a combined mesh ready to export

      Blender is Z Up only, so it should work without any change.

      There is an update in UE 5.3 Chaos Cloth, but I haven't tested it. Style 3d is better than previous Choas cloth.

    I am facing some issue with usd export in… in animation the objects was animated through the help of locators…animation is not exporting proper and more more thing….if i have a scene with proper lighting and camera animation….can it be imported same as like i has in maya through usd workflow….pls help

      Hi @Sunnny851 the rules are same the hierarchy should be single Means if you select the root joint all the joints under it should be selected. and bake the joints before export , I am not experimented with lighting but you can export everything from Maya.     I had a question. If we want to implement weapon system to the metahuman then how can we do that. Since mesh being used is of mannequin, if I add socket and weapon to mannequin mesh it does not match the Metahuman animations

    Great video! I have been using unreal for almost 2 years and then now the character setup keeps changing so I was a bit behind on the changes. This tutorial was short and sweet. Straight to the issue at hand and solved me so much digging to figure out the differences. I remember we used to have to make ik rigs and retargeting. This is much more simple for getting them in there. Hopefully, my animations will work in sequencer with this setup. Subscibed!
