Vampyrellid amoebae often prefer algae, but are known to have peculiar dietary preferences, but I have never previously heard of them trying folliculinids.
Perhaps just checking it, but it attached and tried to engulf it for several minutes.

I observed a similar phenomenon with Haematococcus and rotifers here in France. It seems that such plump bdelloid rotifers with their characteristic corona love to settle where they can feast on Haematococcus. This is also an example of adaptation because, in the end, only Haematococcus with large-sized shells remain uneaten-they simply don't fit into the rotifers' mouths. There are likely also colpoda in the sample. Colpoda often settle alongside Haematococcus.
Thanks for the info!
It would be great if you would add description of the microscopy technique used for each sample.
OK, DIC.
love that D.I.C.
very nice video;
This is beautiful
It's amazing
Get rid of the back ground music .

신비하다👍
this was odd to stumble upon high on shrooms. cool rabbit hole

Thank you very much! love your work as well
Just wonderful! Subscribed :)

Well, I cant find it on the map, but I appreciate your imagination.
Wonderful.
Fantastic video with superb imagery and documentation!
Absolutely outstanding.
Stunning at many levels. The microscopy is of the highest standards; framing of the images, the story, documentation of many hosts; all very special.
惊人的细节。
Incredible detailed footage!
Beautiful and great score to go along with. Just the word "conjugation" sounds naughty!
Thats really cool! More like this one and where's the music?
Its a very common worm. I save the music for the cooler stuff
@@qanunji I love those images. Now I have scope envy. I will have to build a transmitted light stand for , oh slap my face the FM will go on the new SZX stand. Thanks again for that.
That one was in the IX70
@@qanunji Which camera?
Zcam E2 S6
I approve!
So cool
My cat has been taking advantage of me!
Being from a more northerly clime, I immediately thought it resembles a beetroot or a turnip.
Very good - showing the richness and diversity of microbial communities on surfaces. It is the reason why leaving coverslips on samples for 48 hours is such an effective way to work with samples.
Exactly!
a beauty as always
Would you like me to ask my wife she knows all those little buggers even tropical biology critters
Sure man

absolutely
Membranelles plus kineties = heterotrich. Damaged, I think
Thanks
Very cool how big is that?
~150µm
Nice as allways
That was quite dramatic at the end. Wow.
Sorry about the typo: - it is scissum, and not scuissum
Looks like Amphidium scuissum
Thanks David, look at the previous one Ive posted earlier today, shedding trichocysts
One thing that comes to mind when viewing your wonderful microscopy is how difficult but all the more impressive the work of Libbie Henrietta Hyman and others over 100 years ago.
Chasmostoma - it has that unusual anterior chamber
Wooo excellent!! double oil?
Always
Lovely deatil of the membranelles, and of some kind of extrusomes on the dorsal surface!
Excelente!
