GREAT SERIES MY COMPLIMENTS I AM A TOOL MAKER AND AVID BMW OWNER AND ENJOY IT, I have several now and if you're looking for one or two including the LS we can talk
Hello, do you offer remote assistance to repair the BMW R65LS?
Es ist mit Dir etwas schlimmes passiert?
Great series of videos
Loved this. I wish I had your workshop. I had an R65 the same as your Blue one . I consider it one of the best bikes I've ever owned. I did a 180 kln (112 mile) commute for work over two or so years. Never faltered. In my opinion, one of the best engineered bikes. The LS was one I envied. I wish I still had it.
Hello Lance, hope all is well. As a recent R65 owner, I watched with great interest but you stopped after 8 videos. Just hoping you are well and considering posting follow up videos. Thank you for the content you've created.
What happened, did you film the final reassembly and get it running?!
Very enjoyable series. You have a gorgeous garage and equipment. I would've enjoyed seeing it cranked up.
Great video. Superb. In 1984 something I owned such a R65 LS. It is fun to see you do your work. Your work shop is perfectly equipped. Good luck 😃
My first BMW was an R65LS... This interests me very much!
One of the rarest parts at the boxer airhed family is a undamaged frontwheel of a R65LS.
I'm looking into buying my first BMW. I've been looking at 75/5, 75/6 and the RS65. How do you think the RS65 compares to the /5 and /6 bikes? Thanks!
Are you a business in Austin? These videos are super well done, I’m sure they were a lot of work. Been thinking about an r65ls and this has been a great series to study.
Je ne dirais qu'un mot pour cette série de vidéo sur la restauration de cette r65ls, BRAVO. Et puis un second mot, Merci.
merci pour le partage.
It was fun and interesting to follow your work on the BMW! Thank you for filming the process in detail with clear explanation. Looking forward to the last videos.
Thanks for the video's. I'm watching this from Fiji and thinking of buying an BMW R65. There no one here who can work on these so I'm going to have to do all the mainternace myself
This was a great series, thank you! Sorry to see this was your last video, hope all is well.
This entire series has been superb Lance. Thanks for sharing, hopefully one day you will be able to upload more in this series. 👏👍👏👍👏👍
I have a 79 R65 I want to refurbish. With great pleasure I have watched how she would come apart and go back together. Or I could bring her to you.
Great job .
Replace the seals , Jesus Christ
Why not put the oil in the cylinders before you try turning it over ? Duh.
Hi Lance. really great series, thank you. Hope all's ok and really hoping to see the next episode....any news???
thank you for this demo. it helps me a lot to get to know my own red 65LS !
There’s 3000 of us that need more videos…
Really enjoy his speaking voice and relaxed commentary throughout these videos .
Personally think the LS stying mods are un attractive … but like the basic R65 very much .
I was enjoying this restoration, but theres been no more videos in over a year, whats happening?
Great serise, i have had my 1984 R65LS (the silver one) 13 years now and she is running beautifuly, Lance your serise are really great to watch and very informative, i realy hope you are ok and do finnish this serise.
Meine Erste war eine silberne von 82 und meine Letzte ist wieder eine von 82.😊
On my '83 R65 that I got new, I just remove the battery, drain every drop from the gas tank, remove the float bowls, cover the carbs so spiders don't get in, and it will sit indefinitely. And start right up after years. I had to rebuild the cv carb diaphrams a few years ago. I wouldn't dream of pulling any of this machinery apart. It's a BMW and it's designed to last decades and hundreds of thousands of miles with no maintenance really other than fluids, tuneups. If you just cleaned out the fuel system and carbs this bike would probably start immediately. I bet the valves don't even need adjustment. Though I must admit it is fun to see how it all comes apart and the dozens of special tools you need! It's only got 26k on it? That's only just passing the break in period!
I picked up a 1984 r65 with 44 original miles. Everything including the tires are original. Because of the low miles I will not be riding it, just one in my collection. I'm currious the cost of you going through the bike replacing seals & fluids.
WELL, whatever happened ???
Excuse me, but I'm in Seguin. This is just a little unbecoming of me, but I'm in an honest trap. Would you be inclined to make a house call? I need something brought back from the dead.
Lance, great videos. Hoping you are well...from a fellow Central Texan...(Marble Falls). Just bought an R65 monolever out of San Antonio. The videos have been invaluable. Hope whatever stopped them coming gets sorted in the best of ways. With all good wishes.
Hi Lance. Just found the series. Really enjoying the content. Will you be finishing the series? Looks like it’s been a year since this episode.
OK!!! Where is #9!!! You have me hook line and sinker!!! Like to see finished bike?
Anyone know why the series hasn’t finished? I hope he’s ok!
Need you to finish.....
Great videos, thanks for posting.
Thanks for this lance. This was a wonderful series. Some of it went over my head but it was great to see a master at work. I’ve just bought a 1983 R65 LS and it’s intimidating to think of the challenges ahead with restoring it. But great to see this kind of work is possible.
Hi Lance. Your videos are awesome! I bought a 1984 BMW R65 LS 2 months ago. Not "restoring" it, but reviving it. I have it running now and not getting into the deep stuff in your videos 1-8. I'm trying to get to the blown out bulbs in/behind the Instrument panel. The book says to unscrew the nut with the two holes on the ignition switch. Is there a special tool or trick to this? I can't budge it. I tried using two allen keys in the holes as leverage to turn this nut but no luck. I don't want to crack or scar the plastic. Any suggestions? It should be simple but.... TIA Susan

Fantastic, thanks. So enjoyable to watch and listen to! Have just bought an '84 LS after spending 25 years wishing I hadn't sold my last one... This video is really helpful. Might tempt me to go through the R100S too!
Hi! Great Video's, again. I did not see a link to the specific Ultrasonic Cleaner Machine, or the Size. 20 or 30 Liter? Is it a VEVOR brand, or another maker. Please add a link, if you can, THANK YOU!
You cant beat Park tools for the money.
Thank You! I was given a 1982 BMW R65 With less than 15,000 miles on it. It has been sitting in my dad's garage, for Decades! Your videos are a Great Guide! Now if we can source the parts for the conversion to Double Disk Front brakes, like that LS, Great!
With the exception of the black exhaust system (mine is Keihan SS) that is identical to mine, even down to the aftermarket fork brace.
Don't fire the engine with the plugs out-you'll kill the ignition system
Not true
Which tyres you got on that? They're not tubeless are they?
L'avevo anch'io... tre moto fa... 💖👍
