While I personally am not the biggest fan of the entire Penacony story (I really think Aventurine's backstory plotline should have been faster as it just didn't click for me (I don't like Aventurine)), it had moments that made it shine oh so bright. From the moment alone with Firefly to the fake Xianzio intervention ending to the real final fight when Robin's song kicks in and you just launch a train at that weekend-named fuck. And the music is just phenomenal, almost all arc round. (Some of the overworld themes in the dreamscape are a bit of a miss for me) Also, bartender event. As a VA-11 HALL-A fan, me like.

Im tired, I dont even know what do I want anymore. And the worst part is that it doesn't matter who I talk to about this, they dont give a F because others are or have suffered more. Im tired of feeling bad for feeling bad. At least Im not alone after all.

My guy... Based, Seele is the best waifu... but you will have to share her with Bronya. Those two are soul-bound across multiverses.(Look into Honkai Impact 3rd's story for that) Also, I love this view on the Penacony story. Firefly's speech on the rooftop is so emotional because the VAs, both in JP and EN(Maybe CN too, but not sure) have chronic illnesses they can call on to fuel that emotional outpouring. Analesa was basically paralyzed for early parts of her life, and still suffers from joint pain and stiffness. She said in an interview with Boothill's VA, that she burst into tears doing the first linereads for that scene.

Peakacony is so real

Since starting college, i find burnout comes and goes in waves I'll start movated and full of drive. That will cause me to burn the candle at both ends, via staying up doing homework and studying. Then, the mental drive comes to a crawl. Eventually, i crash. Hard reset, either end from end of semester break or a week of doing nothing. Then repeat. I wish I had a dream, like you were talking about, but I just have goals leading to nothing. Thanks for the video. It's nice to have someone to empathize with.

I Love Honkai Star Rail the most out of any Gacha game, i have been playing it since the version 1.2 Special Program Premiered. The game has made me laugh, cry and everything in between! Unfortunately (or kinda fortunately) i was Spoiled on the fact Firefly lives after version 2.0 from leaks, it still made me cry at the emotional moments and laugh at other parts, Also the Trailblazer is my favorite Gacha Protagonist ever!

I had the exact same thoughts about the game. Jarilo-VI was amazing and Xianzhou was a pain ( i pretty much rushed the story). Then i experienced Penacony... And i found myself enjoying every aspect of the lore. I even had the courage to learn what i had missed in Xianzhou. Star Rail is now one of my favourite games, leaving Genshin (i play that stupid game) and a lot of other games eating dirt. Gameplay and Storywise

This got me a little teary eyed. I loved Penacony, and so many parts of it hit me so hard. Firefly with her wanting to break free from her physical confines, Acheron with her role as an Eminator of Nihility and how she feels about death and nihilism, Aventurine with his past as a survivor of an ethic genocide and assimilating into a system that played a part in that, the relationship between Robin and Sunday and how they each view Penacony, how Penacony uses American history, culture, and Christianity, and Mikhail ( oh my god Mikhail ). That finale in 2.2 got me so hard. I remember listening to Hope is the Thing with Feathers on loop after I had beaten it, and I just, broke. I get emotional over media, but I hardly ever sobbed ( including over other things irl ). With that song, and thinking back on the whole questline, I sobbed like crazy. It just made me feel so hopeful and inspired. And that goes for the Penacony story overall. Definitely my favorite story I encountered this year. I'm glad I found this video. You did a really good job making it.

we need more penacony appreciation videos like this. i cannot put into words how much the story meant to me personally and i have no idea how to describe how moving it was to play through it. like how do i explain this to my friends bro? theyll never get it unless they play through the game themselves but they dont care so... anyways its nice to see other peoples who have played the game make commentary on it so thank you for ur epic contribution my dude 🫡

For penacony they bring the HI3 writer, so not sure if you will try hi3 because it is quite old game , ao you can expect kinda the same level of writing as Star rail

Good video, it made me tear a bit. I play since launch and i'm fan of Hoyoverse stories (even tho, i don't play the others on a daily basis) but HSR is just a great story, Penacony was a rollercoster between expecting what happened on 2.0 to the beautiful end we got on patch 2.3 For some people, that was a lot of text and story... but i think we are slow cooking a more big story on our own, we are exploring a universe (or atleast various planets) that we don't know, i like to read so i enjoyed it. I really love when Robin appears to help us against her brother and the crew say lines to try to calm Sunday.

If you ever try out honkai impact please make a video on it! The story is so underrated (and long..and emotional..and very very long) dont let that stop you though! Its rich in its lore

Good and well thoughtout video. You are correct that people feel an innate desire for escapism, after all it is comforting to be in a place without the mundane worries and responsibilities of life. However, another significant element is that of progression. People, in general, like feeling like that they have progressed from somewhere and not having wasted time. Many escapist mediums provide an easy method for people to feel the progression in life that would normally take much effort to consider and work to achieve. Please make your voice slightly louder within the video, it was sometimes difficult to hear. Good video, keep it up.

This video was pretty much my exact reaction to Penacony. At first I only downloaded Star Rail because I saw Firefly and thought “Cool robot girl” but then I started really getting into it especially at Belebog. Then I got to Penacony and that just completely won me over. Firefly is my favorite character because of that moment on the rooftops, perfectly done by her voice actor Analesa Fisher (they revealed in an interview that they also have a chronic illness, so they related with Firefly allowing them to make that performance hit even harder) Initially I thought I would only like Penacony because of Firefly but then we got a really good story and characters like Robin, Sunday, Boothill, etc. I was really invested in Sunday’s conflict and thought he was a really interesting antagonist, like he wants to protect everyone but his way of doing it was not right. The final fight was just so good like idk how they’re going to top it. Theres so much I love about Penacony and you put it into this video. Sorry if this stupidly long essay isn’t that coherent since writing isnt really my thing but really good video bro only issue I had was that the music was slightly too loud at times but aside from that you did a great job

I played through penacony and heard Robin's song, I still have no idea wht happened in it. I was bored out of my freaking mind and the characters were definitely speaking words, hehe, I feel like I need a degree in star rail lore to understand this stuff

If u liked penacony, check out honkai impact part 1's story and lore. Aside from the fact that its a really good story as a whole, 5 big reasons to are: 1: HSR and HI3rd have the same universe. Welt from HSR is the same one from HI3rd and when he speaks to acheron, he recounts some experiences from HI3rd. 2: Each arc ends with an amazing animated short with a vocal song tailored for it. Each of which are incredibly emotional. 3: characters are extremely well developed, have clear motivations and show immense growth as the story progresses. 4: if ur really a lore buff, HI3rd explores the cosmology of their universe the most among the hoyo games. 5: The story writer of HI3rd is the same guy who wrote penacony, and he does not disappoint. In fact, penacony uses a lot of similar concepts and progression to some of the arcs in HI3rd. It starts a little slow, starts to pick up a bit at chapter 4 or 5, but the payoffs of each arc is huge, with the endbof the first arc being in chapter 9, and then they just keep getting better after that, so its highly highly recommended
