Im a New Yorker, I pronounce the 'r' like mentioned in the video. Not all Ny residents speak that way and that dialect is pretty secluded to parts of the city. It's street slang really, picked up in the long island side.

The audio is bad. I like the video anyways. By the way, I'm out of the English accent, that's why I'm practicing the American one.

I never thought of the American "r" being pronounced similar to a vowel! It's true about Texans, by the way. :) I live near Dallas and in my area you don't hear very heavy Texas accents, but I do notice the heavier "r." (Two other traits I've picked up on are the "lazy" speech, like "tah-rd" for "tired," and making one-syllable words into two-syllable words. XD The syllable thing is with heavier accents though.)

I have noticed that American Female English is a bit different from American Male English

From an actors standpoint, having multiple accents in your mental arsenal will help obtain more roles and show you are more versatile than many others. There's a list of actors who everyone knows isn't using their real accent but still love the actor/actress' work. James Marsters ("Buffy/Angel", "Torchwood"), Hugh Laurie ("House"), Johnny Depp ("Pirates" series), Heath Ledger ("Dark Knight"), Chris Hemsworth ("Thor/Avengers"), Idris Elba ("The Wire")

New Yorkers don't pronounce the "r"...It's "Pahk the cah."
