Thank you for literally explaining nothing. You didn't even answer your own question
Great job
Fantàstic cóm ho expliques, Bernat! No sé si recordes qui sóc: Fina Ramos, amiga dels teus pares.
Great!
Great thanks

Very interesting study!Have they published their recent results now?
VON ECONOMO’S ENCEPHALITIS first was recognized at a time when electric transmission infrastructure was being newly delivered worldwide.
I might encourage a study that might relate to effects of ELF wireless transmission exposure ;upon these regions ; in a comparison of environments, diet, etc.
My LORD has brought me to this video. I am suffering. I love you and your passion to help us!

Fantastic discovery. Thank you so much Candice.
Loved this short and very important lecture and subject.

Hi! Out of curiosity, why is "2 biological sexes" used when we know intersex folks make up ~1.7% of the population? (Red heads and green-eyed people have similar % in the population, so it's not rare...)
my ex suffered from a severe depression, it was almost a superhuman effort to pull him out of the brink of self destruction, most of his family were only partially supportive, not enough to pull him out of the black hole, but it is possible with a right support
I'm sorry to hear that. I've always wondered why some suffer so greatly while I have many reasons to be depressed and yet am not. I attribute that to my faith in Christ, but I can't help but wonder if it's a brain thing as well. I have moments, like recently I've been unemployed and struggling with self sabotaging thoughts, but this is extremely rare and unusual for me. On that note, I better get back to working on my resume. 😅
The problem is that 100% of your samples are from mentally ill people. The statistics for prevalence of mental illness are waaay too low. The inhibition of vens is what is responsible for the formation of large scale brain networks. Meaning, large scale brain networks only exist as individually identifiable groups because the vens are inactive.
Very cool
Not even a mentioning of ketamine treatment for depression and suicidality. Talking about 10 to 15 years away? That seems very comforting to someone who most likely has been struggling with depression for most of their lives already. Your fellow colleagues seem to be doing a much better at relaying different forms of treatment that are available right now. But most likely you will have to pay an arm and a leg to get it. Which makes absolutely no good sense. That in of itself is depressing.
Is were talking severe chronic depression and suicidality then ketamine needs to be in that conversation. Its efficaciousness alone is undeniable. Thank you for bringing this substance more towards the forefront.
Its absolutely wonderful to see neuroscientists talk about these molecules. The current commonplace medications to treat depression and anxiety are dysfunctional at best. The problem is that the medical model of today seems to be driven by profits and not so much by efficaciousness. People say the same thing all the time. Why would anybody do anything if not for profit. If something cannot be patented then who will pay the bill.
Viva Van Horn!
ربنا يحفظك ويسعدك ويوفقك دكتوره شيماء
Amazing talk!
🤔
Proud of our Class of 2013 alumna! So clear, and so passionate about your research and sharing it!
What an interesting topic. I really like the way you described your research. - Bravo .
Bonne chance dans vos recherches c'est bien de voir des gens qui s'implique encore à essayer de nous aider. Merci à vous.
Un grand merci pour votre soutien et pour votre intérêt. Je me tiens disponible pour toute question si besoin !

Interesting. I used to love the words my kids didn't say properly because I knew it wouldn't be long before they outgrew it. At the end of the day we may not talk like Ethan but we should all laugh and smile and be curious like Ethan. He seems like a happy little guy.
yes, so true! We should all be as curious and have as much fun as 4 year olds!
Mashallaaah !
Love it! I've been waiting for Marion's talk since her Vlawg about it. David is lucky to have a brilliant partner and her children are blessed to have a genius mother. Dr. Van Horn your presentation is understandable to the layperson and interesting to the scientist. Well done.
There is no David, there is only Viva...
The intro cracks me up every time, love the talk!
My wife and I were just discussing the ability of a professional to explain their work to a layperson. You have that very rare skill. This was the best explanation of the "brain is a sponge" line.
That's Mrs. Viva Frei!
Or is he Mr Viva Van Horn.....
As any correlation been done between education and brain activity? Is this being study? I was asking as the greatest brains in history seem to be self educated.
Hi Johnnie. Both of the questions that you posted here are great ones. We would like to encourage you to submit them to www.braininfocerveau.ca, another McGill student-led initiative where you can get in-depth answers from students who are familiar with the literature in these topics. Thank you for watching our online event!
Nice presentation by all participants 👍
How many chemical actions/reactions take place in the human body on any given 24 hour period.
Better to ask...take place every second. Literally thousands at the synapses of the brain, and then thousands in the gut, liver, circulating cells in the blood, and so on.
42:00 amazing presentation
From the point of view of a non scientist, the presentations provide a fascinating idea of what is possible in neuroscience. I am sure that many viewers will be very happy to know the answers to the questions that you raise when you eventually find them. Thank you for placing this conference online. The presenters did a great job and I hope that their work is never lost in unfathomable academic texts written for experts alone.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!

You have gained some useful publicity thanks to Marion Freiheit promoting NeuroLingo on her husband's Locals site. Given that this is an interesting and important topic it is useful to "cross pollinate" with other sites to broaden your audience. I have read Dr Norman Doidge's book on this topic and am absolutely amazed at its potential for understanding and better utilising our brains.
LSD May not kill the user but hasn’t it caused users to kill? If you’re on LSD are you truly you?
This is why it would be best used in a clinical setting.
