Basically they’re the best cards from the first set and have Black Lotus which has come to represent the game and are still able to be played in a single format that uses cards from all sets. They’re pure power and even in the format you can play them in you can only have one copy.

The problem with this card is that it's incredibly condition sensitive. 1.) It often has black splotches on it between Dr. J and Magic, and 2.) It often has that short black print line below the Johnson name. I'd love to pick up a "7" of this card by either SGC, Beckett or PSA but to get one sans those two defects is a very hefty price tag.

Jeremy! You missed the most obvious way to tell the difference between O-Pee-Chee and Topps. One says "O-Pee-Chee" on the back; the other says "Topps" :) Also the French language is a giveaway.

I’m lucky enough to own two of the Star cards. I actually got them for FREE at a sports card show in the Chicago area in the 80s. They handed them out at the door, I kid you not. Both are off center, but I’m thrilled to have them. I need to get them graded. I then would love to sell one in order to acquire a copy of the ‘86 Fleer Jordan. Then I’d be cool with either end of the MJ rookie card debate. I love these discussions.

I recently acquired a 1980 Wayne Gretzky OPC 2nd year - PSA 9 - but the back says printed by Topps. This is the first I ever seen like this. What are your thoughts on this?

The 1st card printed off the line of a player by a NBA licence product that gose out to the public are the true rookies. And now that we have multiple set's from the same company for instance Panini it is the 1st card printed of a new player is the true rookie and that would be Hoops so every other set is really a second, third and so on so print not the true rookie evan though they are stamped with the RC logo. So technically the star card of MJ and Hoops card's now are the only true rookie cards out there

I just bought a raw card from PWCC (now fanatics), it was authenticated by MBA, like all the raw cards from PWCC, and as the heat map did not indicated any yellow, meaning that the card is in perfect conditions, so I end up spending 600 for that card, I sent the card to BGS through PWCC deal, and it just came back 1 hour ago as BGS 6… now my card is worth 100 dollars! Lost 500 dollars just because their heat map could not identify that surface had a 5 as a grade!

Brady has lots of rookie numbered cards, these will be the ones that start to climb.

If you look at the 1990-91 nhl topps vs o-pee-chee you will see a horrible topps difference on the back. OPC is a nice back and topps is brown cardboard.

As a UK collector of T206 cards I find it rather bazaar that your explanation of T206 starts by explaining that the T stands for tobacco. That is totally incorrect.

Great video, but you made one huge error. Hindu comes in two varieties, Brown and RED, not Brown and Black. But otherwise this was very well done.
