Agar lepcha nepali hoina vanay rai limbu, tamang, sherpa, chettri, bahun, thakali, pradhan, kami, damai, sharki, gurung,mangar, sunuwar, yakkha pani nepali hoina... Sabai ko afnu bhasa cha afnu culture ra shock nahunu jo aryans nepali ma cha unaharu pani sanskrit bolcha bahun haru mainly.. euta movie lai herayra kasari judge garnu huncha.. i am not oppressing on the lepchas to be nepali but just think deeply i had the same mentality as yours because we tamang have different language, different traditions but something has unified us.. yes indeed there are places where most ethnic people live in that very region, like the sherpa at namchi nepal, tamang at rasuwa jilla, subbas at west sikkim and illam and the lepchas at north sikkim.. but this particular diversity of races lives in this very region of bhutan, nepal sikkim and darjeeling.. that y when sikkim was about to be annexed the king of sikkim went to nepal and bhutan state the proposal to stay unified so that they can be strong.. we all are gorkhas, we are unified by this name in past we all had conflict with each other all the races now we are one we share our tradition culture with each other we marry each other we are totally mixed now.. i being a tamang marry a lepcha, chettri, subba and bhutia with ease but if they are bengali or mainland indian or even other north east tribe, i will think them as outsider.. if the lepcha is discriminated in the plains, we get angry because we know they are our own and i think the lepcha feels the same.. now may be in our blood as well we have mixed up... I know in every lepcha family they marry with tamang, bhutia, rai, limbu and other nepalese speaking people.. but when it comes to outside nepalese speaking they think them as outsider and they are mot even comfortable.. i have heard this saying when a rai, limbu, tamang, bhutia marries with other mainland indian, i have heard my lepchas friend saying hamro manchay euta ramro payeana ra madeshi sanga janu paryo.. i can give you more example how we have unified.. but see nepali is a community of brave people of hills who have different culture and tradition and each other have accepted them as their own and all have safeguarded their culture as well but have accepted and praised the others as well.. we are so comfortable with each other and we are unified.. when you go outside and meet this people you will have the feeling of strong bond even if you are living in west bengal, you will see bengali in banglore you will not have that feeling but if you see any lepcha the tamang, rai, limbu chettri, pradhan, sherpa will have the feeling of closeness.. hope you understand our unity..
