ILUVIEN® (fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant) 0.19 mg is an implant injected into the eye (vitreous) and is used for the treatment of DME in patients who have been previously treated with a course of corticosteroids and did not have a significant increase in eye pressure.
ILUVIEN may be an option for you even if you have been treated for DME before. You may not be a good candidate for ILUVIEN if you have been treated for increased pressure within the eye or glaucoma in the past.
