I see that the pan was cut down on both long edges -- can the pan be cut down to 36" wide from the original size of 48"?

Has anyone done this system with heated floors in the shower area, and outside the shower (rest of restroom area)?

OK I plan on using the VIM curb-less shower system for a new bathroom -- But has anyone used this system in a HOME LAUNDRY AREA ? My laundry area will be build on the second floor and I want to have a protection system in case of a water accident.... Would a VIM shower base work under or near the washer and dryer? IF they are a stacked unit, would the weight of the stacked Washer/Dryer be too much on the VIM materials and ceramic tile? Anyone?? I sent the question to VIM but they never reply?

Laundry room. What a great idea! I've used it in my shower and love this pan. Give the VIM company a call. They've always responded right away to my phone calls.

The VIM System I purchased is scheduled (by me) for installation in about 1 week. This video is Spot on. As this is the first and only VIM System I will do )DIY, Not a Contactor). Great Tips. The time spent with the 'Patch' is more than I expected. I'll follow as close as possible to do as you did. Thank You Again. VIM is the Best!

How do you make the pan bigger instead of cutting off pieces.

Ok... I'm impressed, for a number of reasons. I really like the idea of having a true level surface for the first row of tile. Because I typically float my floors, I usually start tiling on the second row sitting on a ledger board and then exact cutting the bottom row later to fit that uneven damn floor I floated. Yea, I know, it's time consuming but it works good. Your fabric... I'm guessing it's just a fiberglass type tape?. As for putting Kerdi on top of your system, why on earth would anybody want to? Sounds a little redundant to water proof a water proof pan. Can I guess that you've tried rolling your water proofing and found that the brush works better with the fabric by helping to smooth it out? I checked and you don't have a distributor near Florence, SC but I'm gonna give your system a shot. I've got a remodel coming up that they've asked for no curb that will go down about November. BUT... you got to work on that price tag. That's a chunk for a guy who does 10 or 11 bathroom remodels a year. Check me out RebuildMyBath.com. If you want to cut me some slack on the first order, I won't mind. And BTW, this may be the best instructional video I've ever watched.

Can you extend the depth (from back wall to inside the room) more on one side or do the sides in need to be even in relation to the drain? Example, making the pan extend further into the room while keeping the drain closer (off set, not centered in the pan) to the wall.

THANK YOU! I've watched several of these videos and feel more confident now about our MB/shower remodel. We have a small space (approx 50.5" wide). Current shower is a pre-fab fiberglass 32" square. I plan on cutting pretty close to the wall width, leaving a few inches on either side (one of those will be taken up by the DuRock 1" filler strips) and backing off the rear wall a couple of inches (this is an exterior wall as well). That only leaves the entry side to talk about. So, in order to keep a constant pitch, I need to cut an equal amount from both sides, correct. Using the pre-grooved cut lines in the pan, it looks like I'm going to have to cut this down to approx 44" x 36" to give me enough space around it to put in the right amount of slope.
