That's my favorite sneakers. Too bad isn't easy to find in 2021...
New Shoe designs suck. I had a kanadia tr 2, great looking, comfortable, light shoes.
Copyright claim? What?
I'm probably going to be buying a pair for Spartan Beast in October. Are the 2016 model improved or is it mainly cosmetic? p.s like the Grid soundtrack :)
Thanks for the review. I just bought the mudclaw 300 for spartan but I'm seeing that many others have the x-talon. How would you compare?
Lower drop, more flexible, less support, softer rubber sole on the Talons. There's a review of the 190s on my channel. If you're used to barefoot shoes, go X-Talon, if you're after a bit more support, go Mudclaw. Mudclaw offers slightly better grip in the really muddy sections, X-Talon gives slightly better grip on wooden/concrete obstacles. Hope that helps. Enjoy Spartan!
Thank you for the response!! Glad I went with the Mudclaw because I'm used to more support. I'm excited to break em in!
x-talon has 8 mm lugs, the mudclaw's are 10 mm.
im still deciding what to get for the spartanrace
+Rizal Adin Can't go far wrong with the MudClaw, depends on your ability and how much barefoot type running you've done.
So I realize you asked this question 2 years ago, but just in case you have not tried the mudclaw 300 yet, I would like to provide an answer. When I train I look for a lightweight maximal cushioned shoe that saves my joints so I use the HOKA SPEED GOAT 2. Come race day when I do Spartan Ultra Beast's, I am not looking too much into cushioning as I am a shoe that grips very well and drains water very easily so I am not carrying extra water weight, in this case I will use the MUDCLAW 300. Summary: HOKA=Training, MUDCLAW=Race day for obstacle course racing that is.
What's the width of the forefoot like? I believe that some Inov-8's are very narrow. And what's the difference between the 190 and the 200?
+Red Rum dude, sorry for the late reply. You can get these in precision fit only. Toebox is generally fairly wide in my experience. (I have quite wide feet, Salomon toeboxes are too narrow and shallow for me). Forefoot is also fine for me. 200 is heavier and a little more hard wearing. 200 was apparently designed more with OCR in mine, but to me for shorter races (Say 10km and less) the 190 is still better. It drains better, lighter and more flexible.
Great, thanks for recording it
Good running video OCR Life. Have you seen any of my videos from Long Valley. I covered the starts and at Brown Loaf Hill.
Loved it !!
Were you running Jo? Awesome event. I shall be back at the December one! #ocrlife

Blimey !... Another course since last Sunday in Hertford Nice one !
Of course, got to get them in. Looking at my next event already! #ocrlife
Great video and congratulations on completing the Hertford W.A.R 10km. I did a GoPro video and got you jumping off onto the air bag at the end of the course... Here's the link - th-cam.com/video/yLf7rWo3g8E/w-d-xo.html 😃
Cool vid. And I'm kicking like a good 'un on the bag drop. Haha.
I was 2nd in that Wave - great video, thanks for capturing.
Good job, what was your time??
OCR Life 50:49 I think - somewhere around there.
James Dunmore Awesome time. I was 62:40 something. Any ideas when the results are out?
OCR Life results are on the website now. Only times though so you'll have to trawl through to work out it. Ignore any times outside wave 1 (either skipped obstacles or skipped course, impossible to be quicker than first 20-30 people in wave 1).
