The versatility is great, but the rounds are still quite expensive. The industry needs to make some changes that will reflect in positive ammo sales.
Err...buy the 327 stock version. Cheaper, and more options. My SD rounds are loaded in an H&R case to about 30K psi. Sweet spot for that bullet.
Actually it’s not cheaper. The steel frame LCR’s are more expensive than the aluminum frame models. This 32 H&R model is the same price as the standard 38 Special LCR
@@jasonatlipseys My bad. I did buy your SP-101 in 327. Beautiful gun.
So now Lipseys wants to screwup the Ruger LCR, no thanks. I'll pip up the standard LCR over anything lipseys touches.
Except we don’t actually touch them. Not sure where you get your information.
Really sharp looking little piece, and a smart concept, as we’ve come to expect from Lipsey’s. I would prefer the 17 oz steel frame 327 LCR for a primary, but this seems like a fantastic backup/ankle carry, or a primary for smaller statured people.
Any hopes of seeing one for a Colt King Cobra? I will say Its an enjoyable little carry piece but kinda hard to find a holster for.
Ruger has failed to offer what should have been the first limited edition LCR. A 2 inch barreled LCRx in 22mag with an Auxillary 22 lr cylinder
Good work, boys! Subscribed and liked.
This is an awsome revolver for quite a few legitimate reasons. Not least of which (speaking from the vantage point of 76 years and having arthritis in my hands) is that it seems well suited to older guys and gals like me that grew up with revolvers and prefer that platform.
I have a Charter Arms revolver in that caliber, and I like the caliber quite well. The only thing I would want different is a shrouded hammer to make it less likely to snag during a draw from concealment. I have fairly large hands, and the M&P Shield 9 is narrow enough and small enough that it's a challenge for me to get a good grip on it. Oddly enough, this CA wheel gun (outside measurements almost identical to a S&W J-frame) is almost as easy to grip as my preferred 9mm Semi-auto CZ PCR, and it's a whole lot easier to hide and pull from deep hide. There is some decent stuff available in that caliber, but it's not popular enough that the manufacturers are going to sell it at the sub-third-of-a-shekel than 9mm ball ammo costs these days, or even the sub-8/10-shekel some of the good hollow point stuff can be found for nowadays. Just not enough folks using it, sadly.
Lost River 32 h&r magnum ammo makes great and affordable ammo !
They're sold out as out 11/25/24. It's because everyone is buying up the S&W Ultimate Carry j frames and then all the ammo! Thankfully my local gun shop stocks .32 S&W Long in a variety of different brands, and I was able to get 100 rounds of 32 H&R Magnum from Lucky Gunner a couple of weeks ago.
No shooting?
Lol...let's make a new gun in a caliber that's super hard to find...
It’s more available now than it’s ever been…,
32 not interested. Maybe you can talk some women into buying it
The .32 H&R Magnum is an excellent round for a small snub nose revolver, for women and men. The recoil is significantly less than a .38 Special, has the same terminal ballistics as .38, and allows 6 shots instead of 5.
.32 is legit a better caliber for lightweight snubbies. The only catch is that the .327 is too hot for most users and the .32 H&R Mag (the sweet spot cartridge) is fairly hard to source and most factory loadings are too wimpy except for a few expensive boutique loads.
Please make a 3" model.
I would've preferred y'all to do something with the sp101 not their plastic fantastic revolver also we should prioritize 327 federal mag over these 32 h&r revolvers
That gun came out in February.
Great work, guys.
I’m buying 2 or 3 of these for sure!
yes but does this ruger quality still rattle as you shake it?
Excellent! Now make it in LCRX 3" please.
@@darrenmiller5382 I heard through the interwebs that may be coming...unverified at this point.
Yes
Yes - the Kit Gun version! Would be fantastic way to launch the inherently accurate .32 H&R or .32 Long cartridges.
Or even 4”.
Those teal, pink and purple guns get a lot of ladies into 2a. All good
Ruger has the .327 Fed Mag six shot already. You can shoot .32 H&R Mag and all the other .32 S&W calibers through it. It only weighs 4 oz. more. Doesn’t make sense to me to pump out a less versatile revolver for the sake of saving a few ounces.
4 ounces is a lot of weight when it’s worn all day.
@@327Federalpeople carry much heavier handguns every day. I’d be more concerned overall finding reasonably priced ammo for either of these than worrying about 4 ounces.
@ The internet exists. It’s plentiful online and around the same price as 38 special.
@@327Federal not “plentiful” online in any way, especially .32 H&R (which is actually the sweet spot cartridge for this kind of setup). Not comparable to .38 Special prices either. Most people with these guns seem to run .32 Long for practice, which is fun but is not your carry ammo. It’s also more expensive than .38. Gotta handload if you want to practice regularly with .32 H&R Mag.
For small statured people or as a backup gun the 4 oz is a big deal. I personally would prefer the 17 oz steel frame as a primary but this package still has a niche and makes sense.
Very cool! Any idea why it didn’t get an improved rear sight like on the UC models?
I was fine with the few extra ounces, just wish there was better sights offered for the 327.
Look at the Lipsey's exclusive S&W Ultimate Revolver j frame chambered in .32 H&R Magnum. It's an amazing gun!
32 H&R was my first handgun so I have some attraction to this but I have it in 327 fed that is my daily carry and I have no problem carrying it in a sticky pocket holster.
Same. This weight reduced by 4 ounces will be even nicer!
Grand pa gave me a 1978 Ruger securty 6 357Mag service pistol in a wood display box with 4and 6 inch barrels I gave it to my son on his 21st birthday ❤ Ruger Made in USA1 🇺🇸
The LCr is over priced for being molded plastic and castings.Should retail for less than $500.
And that’s based on your own market research and extensive background in manufacturing and sales?
The LCR has the smoothest lightest trigger. If you try the trigger you’ll immediately feel the difference between the LCR and all of the competitors. It’s not even close.
Your logic the IWI Tavor should be some bargain bin throwaway since it’s got molded plastic parts.
@@TheJHMAN1 tell me more about your domestic manufacturing supply chain, labor and cost of goods experience with costing models utilizing 3 step distribution from manufacturer to consumer……also if gun manufacturers followed the inflationary curve they’d cost about 3500$ a unit
@AFRevolver357 when the LCR first hit the market they cost less than a J frame. I bought one then around 400. J frames still retail for under 500. These LCRs are 730, that's 130 more than a regular LCR. Which is a 100 more than a j frame. The SW UC can be had for 650.
Something that nobody is saying is that with .32 S&W, S&W Long, and .32 H&R... they will all get HIGHER velocities when fired from a .32 H&R chambered revolver than a .327 revolver. This is a big win, not only are these lighter, they will be more effective for self defense as many who own .327 revolvers use the S&W and H&R ammo instead for lower recoil.
So, the first thing that came into my head as the video started was, “That’s a Ruger?” The contrast of the colors and finish is most appealing. I don’t have anything in .32 caliber and haven’t necessarily wanted to have another caliber for which I had to stock in these chaotic times, but I see advantages of the .32 family. Once upon a time it was easier to find .32 Special as there were still a lot of handguns in common use chambered for the cartridge. I’d like to see Thant change with corresponding reduction in prices. Great video.
Wait for a 327
They already make that in the steel frame.
Good job guys.
Thanks a bunch
Okay, now let's get some better, cheaper ammo selection in 32 H&R!
It's not too bad if you have other calibers to shoot, but agreed, the price needs to be lower. I think prices will get lower because more people buying this LCR + S&W new Ultimate Carry revolver (in 32HR Magnum) will increase the supply and lower price of the ammo.
@@SnubThug spot on🤙
Reload. Revolver, especially this caliber. Very cheap, and easy to shoot. No need to chase brass. No brainer.
Hope they are better than the LCR 9mm,
These are built on the alloy frame so to answer your question Better
We need 32 ammo availability!
High Desert and Lost River have boat loads
@AFRevolver357 you know that's not what the caliber needs. 32 &hr needs plinking ammo backed by a few big brands in national circulation at physical stores. Not boutique online orders.
@ plinking ammo like Aguila 32 Long is readily available.
@AFRevolver357 nobody will do anything if you don't use your voice & channel to say the truth. Otherwise, this & the 632 will wind up on Forgotten Weapons.
@@AFRevolver357 Even that’s $0.75-$0.80 / round though.
Darn... Just ordered the .327
Yeah, I bought one and the owners manual said "this caliber is no longer available." WTF?!? But I like it - it'll shoot the 4 rounds (32S, 32L, 32H&R, 327) but should've been 8 rounds.
@jerroldkazynski5480 8 Rounds?! That would be kinda big my guy.
@@forestgiest1380 smaller cylinder than an 8-round 357mag which is popular
Looks like you’re getting a second gun! One more to add to the family!
@@forestgiest1380 meh, 3 more ounces...just think of it as helping to absorb more recoil. "Happy Accidents" as Bob Ross says...
Very good. Perfect pistol for any kind of shooter, from newb to seasoned pro.
DB and Bryan are phenomenal at what they do.
Thank you❤ Y
Idk it looks good but I'm all about Purple Pain...if it was in Purple & 9mm I'd be more likely. With LCRs depends on caliber what XSSIGHTS options are available. I'm prepping Old Man guns for when I get a bit older...if I have to go to Wadcutters in .38, and large .380s w wider grips I think I'll be good for awhile.
Gotta get better sights on there if Ruger wants to compete with the new 632.
the lcr triggers are so much better than smiths
Agreed. However, skill and reps can compensate for a bad trigger far more than bad sights.
XS makes one. It’s the same sight as the 22LR.
XS Dot and Hi-Viz F/O sights are both available for the LCR. I have the XS on my .38 LCR. I think this new item doesn't need to worry about it's S&W contemporary...in fact, it may be the other way around!
@@brandonedwards1057 we love all of God’s children 🤙
😮
Does the 3” model have snub nose extractor rod length or longer rod? Handled one today and it balances so well I’m thinking about it as my first 22 WMR.
Will there be holsters made for the Ruger LCR or Taurus 85/856/605 revolvers?
I like it! Great video Darryl.
I'd be interest in one of these for a Ruger SP101 2.25" with no hammer spur.
1:45 is very interesting! Are you guys giving input to the 3" Ultimate Kframe??? Similar to My video suggestions a year ago?
👀👀👀👀👀🤷♂😎
Best snubbie pocket holster I’ve used and I’ve tried quite a few over the last 20 years.
If I ever get an LCR I'd grab one, my Charter .40 lives is a Mika weakside front pocket or 856UL same in a Aholster backbone
D, can we see how it sits in the pocket and the draw?
Subscribe to AFR if you haven't already!
Any plans for a Taurus 856 version?
Being discussed
This is the first holster I have found that can replace the old Bianchi 5 bhl pocket piece.
