Life is competitive for Jim Krahn and winning is everything. He has seen the highs and lows of auto racing and his drive to win propels him forward. Jim has amassed countless victories and several championships working with drivers Butch Behrendt, Craig Priewe, Jay Schraufnagel and his son Jesse, among others. Jim’s late mentor and friend Denny Baye shared his passion to race “eight days” a week. That commitment to competition and never quitting is what has defined Jim Krahn’s legacy as DRIVEN.

God bless you for hand scouring. Most tracks will automatically dq a car if the transponder is not working. When people work so hard to get to the track each week and have a transponder issue ruin it all is so heartbreaking. Good good good on you to keep this almost lost art of hand scouring! Take care.

I sure hope the sport stays alive. NASCAR going to electric motors will surely kill that series. Maybe there will be a revival of short track when it happens.

Beautiful story. Such a dear place to me since visiting many years ago to actually bring our midget up from NZ to race. Bryce Townsend (RIP) drove for us. Our friendships with the Olsons, Ray families and many others kept us coming back to watch for years. Seeing them in this presentation bought a tear to my eye. Badger got it "right", as the car count shows.

My dad Tim Petrie told me a story one time his first time in a late model during his first race Jerry spun him in the comer to let him know to get out of the way and welcome to late models and my dad always tells me about how Jerry is an amazing guy and it pushed my dad to race a lot harder

I live in Evansville Wisconsin. I've raced at Madison international speedway and sugar river raceway. I grew up watching my uncle race super late at Madison International Speedway and other tracks. I'm now focusing on karts at Sugar River Raceway myself as well as getting my daughter and nephew into it. What's the likelihood of you doing a video like this based on me, Hannah and Trenton? This is so beautifully done, that I am having trouble deciding which words to use. For starters, the music gently seduced, like seeing the ocean or mountains from a distance. There was no need for blaring guitars, or scenes that were spliced so quickly that it was difficult to watch. No scripted disingenuous sound bites, rather sincere expressions of working towards a common dream, made into reality through a shared passion. It's the people, always the people, who inspire us... That film was fantastic! Very well done. Living in SC now, I’ve been away from “the prairie” for years, and it’s the one thing I miss about WI. I was one of the many fans who watched the Koch brothers, Erfurth, Doty, Boorse, Hatton, and KO…and those guys were my racing heroes. Actually, I’m 48, and they still are racing legends to me.
