Went on a lovely winter roadtrip with my family through central Kyushu region! Covered over 800kms in 5 days, really looking forward to exploring more parts of Japan. TRAVEL | San'yō 山陽地方 Chūgoku 中国地方 Kyushu 九州 | @luigipuno After having a wonderful experience exploring Kyushu a year ago via a roadtrip, my family asked me to plan a sequel! I decided to plan a route that took us through the Chūgoku region, specifically the San'yō side. The area has alot of variety: industrial areas, rural farms, large cities, and picturesque coastlines. Put together a short video to remember our Dumaguete trip by! Some fun highlights in there, like the sea critters, good food, and hanging out in the water. Hope you enjoy it! may i know which month of the year? Thanks
Hi, what month are you going? I'm going in mid-December. I'm really worried about going up Mount Aso. Do we have to prepare wheel chains?
Hello! Really liked the music you’ve chosen to accompany the video! I see that you’ve opted for snow tyres but end up not using them. Am just wondering if I should forgo them as I’m only at Aso for two days dec 21-23 but have to pay snow tyre rental for my 9-day driving trip. What do you think?
Really like this video! BGM is perfect! Kyushu looks amazing!
Nandun na pala talaga yung pusang pinakain ko kahapon😊 awesome relaxing vlog. Sarap ng kape diyan.

I would kill for some curry right now

Im thinking of doing the same thing. Inspired by Mary Kings Book Japan on foot. I have an upper limit of 90 days. Researching at this stage. Upgrading mu fitness my Japanese etc. Im Thinking Of Fukuoka to Nagoya. Taking the tiki tour. Going through some areas of interest. Thinking of Laid Back Camp (Anime)style. Or Non Non Byori (Anime). Researching Alternatives. So its good to see videos like these to get an idea of what its like. If you like walking and cycling Korea is also worth considering. Not so strict on rules. Though as a foreigner you stick out. So will be a target. Good and Bad. Prepared to enjoy both. Asia is great. I miss Korea. I want to go to japan Only been to shizoka and Tokyo and Fuji area. A decade ago. Loved it. I want to go back. See how things go. Im a kiwi Korean flights $900 Auckland to Fukuoka depending on season. Can be more depending on airline etc etc...Thinking of weight etc. What to take what to leave behind. Costs NZ vs Japan. Laws . Customs.Camping gear. Medicine. Doctors. What can be taken what cant.. I dont wamt to be deported at the airport. So researching. Walk Bike Public Transport Hire Car Train. Want to see historic area. Such as Hiroshima Hakate Oda Nobunagas etc. Sorry for War n Peace. Good video.
Hi, that looks like a very nice time! I want to go on a road trip for about 12 days in Kyushu and my biggest "concern" is about the parking fees. Can you tell me how you did it in the city? Thank you for the very good video. :)
Hi there, once you're out of Fukuoka, the parking fees are generally less, you can anticipate to spend a few 100 yen if you stop at a coin operated parking lot for an hour or two. Overnight, something like 500-1000 yen depending on how close the parking lot is to commercial centers. When we went around the area of Mt Aso, I found that most parking lots were free. When in Fukuoka, I specifically selected AirBnBs in residential areas that had parking included. More expensive than the parking fees are the highway toll fees, but this can be optimized by requesting for a KyushuEx Pass card at the car rental location - which guarantees a flat rate based on days used, not by distance travelled. Thanks for watching, and best wishes!
@@luigipuno9368 Thank you so much for your detailed answer and your tips! I really appreciate that. I look forward to my first rental car experience in Japan. Best wishes!
@@luigipuno9368 thanks a lot, I try to do this next and your answer help me.
Your dining at Minamioguni-machi looks very yummy. Which restaurant is that? Is it ex?
Unfortunately, we were brought to this restaurant by the caretaker of our log cabin stay in Polan No Fue, the restaurant's name in menu were all in Japanese so unfortunately, I can no longer find the contact information :/ But it was delicious and was roughly 2500Y per person
Can, could you share with me your itinerary and lodging place. Also the car booking procedures. Would love to do a selfdrive in Kyushu too. Thanks for creating and sharing this video. Looks great.
Hi there, the car was booked through Nippon rent a car, which has an easy online reservation process and is very easy to pick up at Fukuoka airport. The lodging was all booked via AirBnB, if you'd like the specific links to the exact units I chose, please send me a message with your email - I can send you the exact links. Thank you for watching, and hope you can try out this route in Kyushu, definitley a great experience!
Hello! What month did you make this trip?
Hi there! Dec 26-31 2018
What's the name of the sushi place at 10:13? It looks delicious!
standing sushi shogun in Tenjin!
worst time to watch: 1:56 am
Nice video (: Saw below that you said you didn't have to use snow chains, but were the roads icy/slippery at any point? Especially heading up/down Mt Also, on Yamanami highway, and around Takachiho? Thanks!
Hi there thanks for watching! :) Along Yamanami, I didn't see any standing snow or ice. There was one part where we went up to check out a ski resort and there were some very small clumps of snow by the gutters of the road, but I didn't see any snow or ice on the actual road surface throughout my journey. Though, since it was very cold up the mountain, around -7C I drove with caution since cold tires can equate to less grip even in the absence of snow or ice on the road. I rented chains from the rental car company but didn't end up using them. If you're going before New Years, it's likely that your weather will be similar, but I'd take the chains just in case!

oh yeah!!!
Are you from Albania ?
Nope!
hello
Are snow tires needed?
When we went (Dec 25-31), no need. We took snow chains as a precaution but we never saw any standing snow on the roads.
Which onsen did you go to in Kurokawa?
We actually rented an airbnb that had a private onsen room inside, a really great experience
Lovely!
Great view with calm journey. Nice
Thanks very much! Would highly recommend this route if you ever check out this area
