I really enjoy your Gauge 3 videos, but please please consider getting a tripod!
That is a beautiful locomotive. The livery, sound, and engineering just work so well. Well done and thank you for sharing.
Nice looking loco.
Very nice location and video. Thank you.
That's about a scale 65mph
Nice one Ash; ideal speed for good filming. Did she have the power to bring the train up to 'line' speed? - Ian
Yes of course
I think if I were a club boiler-inspector I would not pass that engine fit to run. Water gauge-glasses should be vertical, or almost so. An angle of 15-20 degrees from vertical could be acceptable. An angle of 60 degrees from vertical, as seems to be the case here, would seem to me to be dangerous; it would be difficult to read, and to determine a safe level of water in the boiler. Just my opinion.
surely even at an angle it shows a top and bottom, but gives a longer tube / reading . given srs have sold hundreds, i can't assume any inspectors have failed one yet .
HURRY HURRY HURRY
Excellent looking Machine !!
Its like the old Rugby testing station Ash! (a joint LMS/LNER facility, I believe I read somewhere). Your loco is lovely.
live steam is hot
great model there. just curious where do you get your rolling stock from & is it in kit form or ready to run?
mainly in kit form, a few are bespoke made by member jim clement, but most are mike williams, g.r.s, peter korzilious and converted thomas g scale wagons. join the gauge 3 society, you get a very good a4 book with all the info and traders listed, as well as meetin great new friends
Very good 'show'. None of the HST live steamers on unfitted goods trains! (Yes, live steam can run slowly with a well engineered loco and a careful driver!
yes, that's what regulators are for, to regulate !
What has Roy put in the chimney and why? Is it to try to stop the condensate exiting the chimney?
just a piece of pipe, with an elbow joint on it
Excellent Southern Steam.
Nice loco ,it was good to meet you at Cliffs today
touche' pal
is it hard to prep the genarel gordon?
very easy, their manual is very comprehensive and can be downloaded free from srs site
make a video of the genarel gordon
i have many general gordon videos on my channel
Live steam is hot.
She’s a beauty and half. Yeah, check the suspension out and do the other little jobs and she be truly sorted. And yeah. She would definitely take an adult.
Lovely afternoon even though the weather seemed against us all!
That little Cadbury loco is a charmer! And impressively controllable.
Love it, did you do the sign writing yourself?
nope, ask gds models, he gets it done.ash
Shakier than Blair Witch Ash!
Agreed, lovely to see G3 models in the wild but I think a cheapo amazon tripod would do wonders :)
yes i know, but better than not bothering. plus i don't just want run by's
It is
Hello there, what is the radius on your layout please and did you have to modify any of the rolling stock or do they get round your radius OK? Thanks! Dan
7 foot 9 inches radius, no mods, but only short wb wagons and loco's, 12 foot is norm min rad

I love choo choo trains .
With the right budget, I would use concrete prefabricated segments to cover the rails when not in use. Even without the trains, dogs and mail delivery falks could damage it if walking over it. Anyways, this is beautiful. I want to see ferns near the track ❤ for scale.
steel bridge lifts out for pedestrians
Is it difficult to maintain an outdoor train set like this or does the weather not effect it much? I'm assuming the trains are brought back inside or under cover when they're not running.
no,as with anything , preventative maint is all is needed
Liked the Single Wheelers Ash!
Looks impressive, good sound quality.
Hope you had a good time there.
Camera did a complete 360 before returning to the train.
Това тест на локомотив ли? Е
love my youtube reccomended
The train was cheapest than another private transports
Would love to see this engine on the mainline someday
He is doing really well there, the loco sounds nice.
Brilliant start em young !
Runs well; will you be bring it on Saturday for me to film at the AGM?
Hi I made and fitted a rosebud grate to mine I also modified the blast nozzle. It will now lift the safety valve pulling a full load. Also if you run with the vacuum ejector on it helps. I found the loco runs a lot better with a load rather than just light engine. I notice your loco is for sale, which is a shame, as I would have loved to bring mine over
dave i can't find your email, id like to know more about the mods, can you get in touch. ash
What gauge is it?
7.25" gauge
Don't know what colour I expected to see, but I was surprised to see 'black'. Cheers.
as far as i know, there were only ever black BR livery with fowler tenders, although a pal found a photo of one with a stanier tender, albeit unlined and without any insigna
Certainly has a lot of Gut's for a small engine, and sounds great.
All with that tiny engine!? What is being used as fuel?
welsh steam coal form signal fuels
The General sets off really sweetly Ashley and the new drain cocks will be very practical for your purposes.
Terrible
Good vantage point Ashley, she is hauling well and sounds great.
