This version of Ronaldo was the greatest striker there has ever been. Such a shame his injuries forced him to change his game as he lost his lighting speed and explosiveness.....(He was still great after the knee injuries) but this version of R9 was simply unstoppable.

Only 1 word to describe Ronaldo Nazario from 1996 to 1998 pre injury. Unstoppable. Never seen a player dominate in an era where Series A had the best defenders in the world, and this player makes them look like children on the pitch. Absolute monster.

My friends. To you know the size of the spell this guy cast on me, here's a short story: I have no recollection of seeing him playing, I live in Brazil and only got to see international football in a regular basis in 2004, last Baggio year at Brescia. A few years latter I saw a DVD off him in a Carrefour Supermarket and asked my dad for it, for my surprise, he gave it to me. I was around 16 that time. When I came home I put it to action right away. And I completely fell in love. I lost count of how many times I watched this dvd in the last 15 years. And watching more of his stuff here on TH-cam, more felt like I was there, in the 80's,90's and early 2000's watching everything. I still feel for him and get upset he lost that penalty in 94, and the fact that Lippi boycott him at Inter. It has been a crazy and beautfiul journey, in witch he's my favourite baller in all times.

If ever there was a perfect player it was him , injuries stopped him but my God he was absolutely phenomenal.

I never had an impression that Ronaldo was a player with special abilities. He was pretty ordinary in many angles but his thinking mind for this game was extraordinary. I mean he was not quick but a quick thinker for the next move. If he didn't get this, he would be a good defence pole. That's it.

I don’t remember what game it was that I first saw Ronaldo playing, I just remember thinking I’d never seen anyone as good as him before it. I’d seen footage of Pele at World Cup finals; I’d watched the cheat Maradonna play quite a lot - brilliant footballer but without integrity - then Ronaldo burst onto world football and I just remember thinking, ‘this isn’t fair, he’s making the best players in the world look like me, and I was rubbish!’

My fav footballer of all time...cause of him i look footbal in was only 11 years when i saw r9 in world cup 1998 final.and since than brazil is my fav.
