How does this work? We have to decontaminate every 30 days to enter Berryessa?
@@changievangie you can schedule a decon with SCWA.
@@blindsquirrelchannel3853 i meant to ask once i get a green tag, is this tag good only for Berryessa or anywhere else that requires a green tag? And does the tag have an expiration date?
@@changievangie The green tag is only good for Berryessa and does not expire, but breaks off when you launch so you need to "tag off" when you leave the lake, stop at the concession and get a new green tag fixed to your boat and trailer when you are leaving the lake.
Is that 115 a dog? What kind of speeds are you seeing?
@@Halfdead211 no, plenty of power, I have gone over 40mph.
How water from pressure washer? How do you feel about the plastic fittings and etc hot hot water pressurized shot force fed into your boats hull or live well? Just curious
@@channel2drew The water is not scalding, 120F and they are fast so I'm not too concerned. Good luck and thanks for watching and commenting!
This is bullshit.. what everyone should do is stop going there and make them end this
More good stuff from the Blind Squirrel …”Let’s go!”
@@sep649 Thanks Sep!
Nice work this year. Thanks for the squirrel 🐿️ adventures. I hope to some day be able to fish berry again without all the extra requirements
@@Setthehuk Thanks Rusty! Hey, you gonna be at ISE Sat Jan 18? If you are lemme know, I'd like to say hi.
@ I thought about going. Not sure day. If I go 18th I’ll send you a note to see if we can meet up.
Do they spray the outside of the boat and trailer with hot water?
@@tonyl3461 They did not in my case, but if you came from Delta last they probably will.
Should be on the water by 3pm if you get there at 5am. Fk that... I'm good
@@deerhunter5305 Thanks for watching and commenting Deer Hunter. I think my strategy will be a one lake approach, green tag on and off Berryessa exclusively for a period of time.
@blindsquirrelchannel3853 They need to close the Delta or decontaminate all boats coming out of the Delta. Require a Delta sticker or something. I'd guess 95% of boats going to the lakes have never been on the Delta.
He said "Decontaminate" Really this is a only a procedure for cleaning and tag out for 30 DAYS... make sure your bilge pumps work before you go or fail
You might have already considered this, but you should add the Blind Squirrel logo to your boat and name it the Blind Squirrel Yacht!

Thanks 👍 I’ll be fishin December 26th from steal canyon
@@lauriebagg3618 Awesome, good luck, lemme know how you do. I hope to get out after XMas at some point as well, been awhile for me, I need to get out there. Good luck!
The fishin was no good for us , had a fun day anyway, caught one nice trout on lead core and a speedy. Got the boat green sealed at the end of the day. Apparently markley stays open till 5 to re seal I’ll go there next
@@lauriebagg3618 thanks for the report Laurie!
What did it cost ?
@@mikem2590 free for now
Thanks for video. Gives me some confidence to go. Sad you did not launch right then. I’m torn about tagging because it limits me to one lake.
Good stuff.
👍
Looks Beautiful!
@@facedowninthemainstream was a nice boat ride, no fish though.
What a fish
Amazing
@@facedowninthemainstream Thank you Face Down!
My fav new local fishing channel. Really appreciate the info and look forward to every video.
@@BirdLegacyBlades That's awesome and very kind thank you so much, more to come! Let's Gooo!
@blindsquirrelchannel3853 hope to see you on the water in the near future
Thanks for sharing the info I had some success at Berry with metal head trolling flies because you can troll them fast with those spoons at the same time.
Thanks for the lure tips. Gonna bump up my trolling speed too.👍🐟
Always a nice day at the lake . Great video 👍 we did ok out there today, all the fish came off the lead core nothin on the downrigers
@@lauriebagg3618 Hi Laurie, thanks for thanks for the info, good to know.
Yeah the spoons work great for their that's what I usually do about the second week in December the lake should start to turn over and all those fish will be on top
Have you ever tried to roll a live worm at Lake Berryessa
@@christham9729 Hi Chris, oh for sure I have trolled worms at Berryessa, I use always bring worms and have a worm out. I have caught trout and a huge catfish trolling worms at Berryessa, BUT... by far more results with trolling spoons naked, with scent, no flashers. Now I don't even bring worms fishing, l know that sounds crazy, no worms! Good luck!
Way to go D. How deep are you picking the trout up at. To be honest, I haven't fished berryessa much. Have caught a few in the late 80s. I used to go fishing a lot for strippers and sturgeons. I'm getting my boat ready for some fishing in the Delta and Montezuma solugh . Planning to take my grandson Angelo out. Thanks for your film clips.
@@thomasgallentine5120 Howdy Thomas, thanks for watching and commenting, if you watch to the end of the video I give all the info in set backs, depths, and speed. The main thing is to find bait and chase graph marks and adjust your depths to the marks on your graph. Good luck!
Oh yeah you got them again nice job going to Lake Berryessa next Saturday any advice
@@christham9729 My advise would be follow the birds, look for bird activity and you will find the bait, find the bait and you will find the trout, that's what I noticed. Also, if you are not sure where to fish, find the river channel through the middle of the lake and fish the channel. Good luck!
so what depth and what speed .... please share
@@m.myrick7086 Watch to the end, all the info is provided.
💯
Nice job!
@@Setthehuk Thanks Rusty!
When you attached the that line retrieve bracket on side of downrigger, did you use any special screws? Self tappers work?
@@Setthehuk I think I used the screws that came with it, but I did pre-drill.
😅 Wow, thanks! 👍🏾 💪 Lake berryessa let's go!🎣
@@Pompomgrenade Let's goooo!
Way too persistent! The mammoth area was tough at all 4 lakes. No super bite anywhere from my sources.

@@sep649 That's a very positive way to look at a terrible net job Sep!
Like the ideas of braid for downrigger line and rubber release on lead 0:00
Thanks the info. I’m out fishing the mammoth area. First time using my Chamberlain release and they are fabulous! We were just talking about a better spot for the retrieve line to get to release. I’m going to look and see if that side mount style on the Scotty will help.
Let’s go! Check in with studio in am. Call and see if needed. Tell ‘em I said to call
Nice video. I went Sunday did ok , Sunday a better day for the fisherman out there till the weather cools off👍
@@lauriebagg3618 Hi Laurie, yeah all the toys on the lake Saturdays, but Sundays are tough during NFL season! I felt like I missed my opportunity early Sat before all the recreational boaters hit the water, just wasn't in the right spot at the right time early. But I had some action which kept me going, thanks for watching and commenting!
Dude you still caught fish even with supercharged v drives ripping up the lake. I heard you scream from the shore! Good work out there.

@@blindsquirrelchannel3853 Blind Squirrel the Movie, Blind Squirrel lunch boxes, Blind Squirrel chef’s apron (for Ibo)…
Great Videos , What size weight are you using on your down riggers?
@@andyv916 Hi Andy, I am running 10lb Cannon downrigger lead balls. BUT, at higher speeds and deeper depths I get a lot of blow back so I am saving up for 12 lb balls or 12lb fish shaped lead weights.
Nice work. I was out there on Friday tuning in boat before big trip to mammoth. Got a nice big boy broom tail on a metal head fly blue/white. Went 3-4 in 2.5 hrs
@@Setthehuk Thanks Rusty, wasn't my kind of conditions, hot and FAC, seemed like frog water, I was happy to scratch out two trout but the two big SMB was a lot of fun too. Thanks for watching and commenting.
