Case International 445 Baler removing a twine jam and tweaking the knot McCormick knotter style
My new to me Case International baler suddenly quit knotting while baling wet hay. One bill hook had twine wrapped around it. This is a 1984 model with the McCormick "All-Twine" style knotter. I clear the jam and tighten two screws 1/4 turn for wear and age.

    I recently deleted an obtrusive comment. Not sure who the person thinks they are but bottom line is these spindles are meant to be run to failure and replaced. Just because you can modify them and force grease into them doesn't change the fact. It's like the long drawn out discussion about light truck universal joints (and other chassis parts) while there are those out there that prefer greasable units, sealed units work better for most because the greasable ones simple don't get serviced frequently enough. If you disagree with my video, go make your own video. Don't be rude keyboard warriors.

    the solenoid under the floatbowl on the carb is a fuel shutoff it is supposed to shut the fuel off so it wont backfire =) we have the exact same model/year/design of that one and we setoff the safety shutoff because the ebrake handle no longer operates correct and when it backfires you can hear it for quite a distance... its rare (but does happen) the fuel pump usually doesnt go bad the dixie we have has oh i think 1400 hours and lives in a barn.. other then the owner constantly leaving the battery in it every year its always started. most dont know this but some of those dixie chopper have twin element air filters which people replace with a single element.. the owner of this one said they purchased it from dixie with a twin element so they ALWAYS replace it with the same twin element they wrote the belt, air, oil and spark plug numbers under the seat and have it all replaced every end of the season

    Overtime you will get a bunch of crap in your coolant solder bloom other contaminants just wear and tear stuff that will eventually get introduced. This is a great video, especially showing and cutting open the old reservoir and showing people how it works with the float versus the sensor well done.I recommend every 200,000 miles not just doing a coolant flush, but getting some of the D scale fluid to run through with distilled water to try and remove as much sludge as you can. This is an eventuality, but maybe it might lessen the timeline before things seize up.

    The U-joints are also 'timed'... meaning if they are not properly aligned, *1/4 turn off, they can bind. THAT can cause that knocking noise. AND break them!

    • @thewayidoit8895
      @thewayidoit8895 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes! Conventional u-joints must be used in pairs. When tge shafts have angular misalignment the u-joint causes the center shaft to speed up and slow down, this is negated with a "timed" 2nd u-joint. The angular misalignment should be the same with both u-joints as well. Do you agree?

I am guessing double O grease?? I actually changed mine over to all steel tines. After watching this video but a little different. Working a lot I never too the time to properly replace it. I did an alignment using parallel strings but tge tires still wore out so when I replaced the tires I had a shop do the alignment. I was dead on. It was $100 to confirm I know how to align a vehicle with parallel strings. These trucks are just too heave for 235 80 17 tires.

    A few things i noticed while watching your video. Your coil was not level with the ground. Its not a good idea to use them in damp conditions because they are a delicate instrument. Any water can damage the housing. And you were swinging way too fast. You need to slow down and let the machine regester. Also the settings are extremely important. You can set them a lot more in either direction than modern machines. Disc one is is your normal hunting setting. Im in Northern Ohio. My best setting for disc one is 1.8 we don't have a lot of mineralized soil. Disc two is used for eliminating iron signals and i set mine at 3.6 for the conditions here. The toggle switch in front of the hand grip on the bottom of the control box is what you use to switch between the two discrimination modes and to pinpoint. Ive been at it since 1974 and over the years ive collected ten machines from Compass, Whites, Fisher and Garrett. Analog and digital. The simple Coin Hustler the first new detecor i purchased to the AT Max and Pros. All of do exactly what they were designed to do. Its really just a matter of the depth and soil conditions. The bells and whistles are for our convenience. Allowing us to attempt to "filter" or discriminate some metals. The problem with that being. The more discrimination you have, the less targets you will hear. Such as a gold ring and other precious metals that register low. Myself, id love a multi frequency pulse induction machine that doesnt have any disc. Just ground balancing. It would go deeper see more types of metals and increase your finds. The draw back to a lot of people is digging every target. I personally dig them all in order to remove the items that might be masking a target. Such as, a large nail thats not far from a gold ring. Our "old" defectors were monotone analog machines that were designed to tell us there was metal in the ground. The more modern machines try to tell what types of metals and at an approximate depth. After about six months of using my Compass. I could tell you if it was a coin and just about how deep it was only by the sound of the tone. Yes it was a novel of a response. But to anyone who is interested in picking up the hobby and doesnt want to invest hundreds of dollars to find out if they enjoy it. There are very good detectors that are older and heavier than today's detectors. But don't think that they can't perform. The technology is still largely the same we have digitized some circuitry and lightened them quite a lot! Try swinging an all metal. Detector with six C batteries in it all day. But that same machine will get deeper than my A T Max. Avoid anything from Asia. They tend to be a real let down. The price says it all. For that price buy a used machine and at least get to figure out if you enjoy it or not. If its not you're thing, you can get your money back. Not with that junk. People who have any knowledge avoid them and tell others the same thing. Hope this helps anyone who watched this video and is interested getting started. Or has Dads old detector they have been thinking about trying. My collection grew because I found that each one has its own special feature. Like a set of golf clubs. Good luck and dig em all!

One Christmas I was doing wood lot maintenance in my shirtsleeves and another year at the same time I was digging out from a 24” snowstorm in - 25 C temperatures. Keeps things interesting that’s for sure.✌🏻✌🏻

    After replacing my turbo actuator and refilling my system, my truck signaled the low coolant light as well. I removed the inner fender got the truck up the temp and tapped on the bottom of the reservoir with a small hammer and light went out.

      I flushed my heater core and added a coolant filtration system and how I’m dealing with the low coolant issue… but no loss of coolant. My assumption is I knocked enough crud loose and it settled in tank and fouled the magnet. Truck has 75K miles on the clock.

      I'll let you know after some experience. So far it's good. Couldn't build anything like this even close in a pole building. Today it rained inside. The condensation that had frosted to the top and framework came down like rain when it melted. Had a wind storm or 2 a few weeks back and it survived fine. You have to keep in mind it truly is a "temporary" building. 10 years is good but I hope for double that. A torn cover can feel catastrophic though.

    Hi, you have several types of water pumps. old, new, high, low. You have a new type of engine and you need a high water pump. And what you have now is a low four-cylinder engine. Move the alternator forward. Do not install a 24V converter because it may cause problems. Buy a 12v high-speed starter. If you are going to do brakes, replace the rubber seals with spring ones. two master cylinders for new and two assist cylinders. buy only original parts according to the Z8701.1 engine or the Zetor 12145 brand. This tractor does not have a synchronous transmission. Buy a service book. If you have any problems, I will help you. Regards, Tony.

    A neighbour of mine had a 12045 two wheel drive, and it worked ok, it had a delco remy starter on his, but it still had the box under the seat. Those tractors do not have down pressure on the three point hitch, but your 3rd remote on the back i think is for the rear cylinder on a semi mounted plow. And one other thing they have on those is a single speed power shift on the left side of the colume, if you do happen to get it going they sound awesome!

    This has been a great box so far. Still need to get it better organized. Haven't used the top section yet. Two complaints that many have noted. The stop on the wide drawers is only on one side AND the wide drawers don't pull out far enough to access the back of it (for sockets). I haven't looked at the newest generation yet. Maybe someone has a retrofit for the slides on the worst drawers?
