    My guess is oil drain plug. If that's it you were lucky it didn't fall completely out. A little oil spreads a long way. Edit -Old bike? I have 11 motorcycles, 10 Hondas, 1 that has a Chinese Honda 50cc clone engine. None of them ran when I got them, all have run since I bought them. My latest is a 2000 Honda 250 Rebel, oldest is a 1963 Honda Cub. The Rebel is going to donate its engine to a 1970 Honda CL175 frame. The bike I ride most is a 1994 Honda 250 Nighthawk (same engine as the Rebel), didn't expect that when I bought it but, it's so easy to ride. I want something that is more handy to carry stuff and I want 18 inch tires front and back so, CL175 frame. Be lucky out there.

      @@ALICATMOTO I knew it wasn't a first generation Rebel 250 (1985-1987) so, not close to being old by my definition. I'm 70 years old if that helps. I went back to your earlier videos until I found where you said yours was a 2008. There are very few motorcycles that wear out in the US, I'd guess Canada too. Most do what my 1994 Nighthawk did. It came to me with less than 5,000 miles on it, a long expired license plate from several states away and a missing title. I got it about 3 years ago so, I feel safe in saying it sat for decades not running. The guy I got it from had it sort of running, it wouldn't pill itself and you had to work the throttle to have it run a few seconds. I didn't need parts other than a couple of spark plugs, a battery and 4-5 hours of cleaning out old gas and the carburetor. Just a little TLC. Unfortunately, if it went to a shop, that would be about $700 and getting a title takes time and persistence at the DMV so people let them rot. If I like them, I ride them. If I don't they sit in my garage. I like the little Nighthawk, about 12,000 miles worth in short trips. You do have to be careful about having parts available when you get one, like the first generation Rebels, stators aren't available.

    The beach you're on is called False Harbour beach. On the Yarmouth side there's another beach called John's Cove that gets quite busy. The area is where all the boats area is called Yarmouth Bar, or "the bar". The fog is real over here, judging by the timing of your videos you were here right smack in the middle of the most annoyingly long string of foggy days I've seen in a while.

      @ALICATMOTO 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Andrew, yes that sounds right. I couldn't remember the name of the beach, I even tried Googling it. Thank you! It sure does get foggy down there. The nice thing is there are a ton of companies making parts for the Rebel 250. The basic engine hasn’t really changed much in 20 years. I’m sure a seal blew out. I bet the tow costs more than the repair. Tow it to a shop near where you are.

    You sure do have some beautiful places to ride. I live in the middle of the Arizona desert. 450 miles from the nearest coast, and it is in California, a state I have no desire to go to. Also, five months out of the year, temperatures are in the 110 degree F range, too hot for me to ride. Sad to hear about that oil leak, especially so far from home. By far the most common place for a Rebel 250 to spring an oil leak is the left side crankshaft seal. It is a pressed in seal, and requires removing the flywheel under the left side cover to replace. The 2 most common reasons for it to fail is overfilling with oil. or a plugged crankcase vent, allowing pressure to build up inside the crankcase. The countershaft seal, behind the front sprocket can also leak, though it is not likely for it to leak that bad. I am on my fourth Rebel 250 since 1985, a 2016 model I bought new. I have over 30,000 miles on Rebel 250s, and have never had that seal fail. But it is not that uncommon. Because the Rebel and one other bike I own have tube type tires, and flats with tube type tires are common in my area, I have both AAA and AMA road service plans with towing. I've had bikes with tube type tires come home on a tow truck three times in the last 5 years because of flat tires. Best of luck getting it back home. I once spent over $1200 because of a flat tire, only 200 miles from home. I did not have roadside assistance at that time. It happened on a Sunday morning ride. Dealers here are closed on Sunday and Monday. So I had towing charges, 3 day motel bill, and almost $300 to have a dealer pick up the bike from a motel a couple miles away, replace the rear tire and tube, and missed two days work. Check out the hondarebelforum.com forum. There is a ton of information on there about the Rebel 250. There are also a lot of Rebel 250 channels and videos on TH-cam. Here is a video about replacing the crankshaft oil seal th-cam.com/video/oFRjI18aHmU/w-d-xo.html Hopefully your Rebel did not run low enough on oil to cause engine damage. Rebel 250s don't hold much oil, and they don't have a low oil pressure warning light. Did you check the oil level after discovering the leak?

    I ride a 2015 Honda Rebel! When on the roadway, don't drive in the middle of the lane! Civic engineers design each lane with an apex, in the middle; that means the oil from cars will settle there. If you ride in the far left of your lane; you can be subject to traffic, that crosses their lane. Always drive in the far right area of the lane, between the white line and away from the middle, where the most motor oil is; also get your stock Honda tires changed, they always sell these lower priced bikes with crappy tires. I have Kendal performance tires, the rubber is great, the stock Rebel tires are as slick as plastic, check them out your self.

    Your letting the bike drive you. You Have to Drive the Bike. Buckle your fists forward, get ready for anything to Happen! You may have to shift your weight to manuver, that means sliding your body foward or back, at an instant. Your upper arm strength has to be ready for instant manuvering, weather it's an animal in the road, a suuden front tire blow -out or some driver that cuts you off. Thanks for this video, your voice is great.

    Hello Ali, to get the bike in neutral easier, give the throttle a gentle twist. The engine rev will push oil and “wet” the transmission and neutral is much easier to slip into on a Rebel 250. I’m amazed at the rides you do on that bike. Very impressive.

    You guys have such cool places to ride. I live in Arizona, U.S. and it's all desert. And it's 110 degrees F all summer. I have never ridden my Rebel 250 on dirt roads. I weigh 240, and it probably wouldn't hold up well on rough roads with that much weight on it. It's a 2016 model I bought brand new. I got a whopper of a deal on it because it was the last year for the 250, and the dealer was overstocked with them. I am not a fan of the tube type tires. It has just a little over 5,000 miles on it, and I have already had 2 flat tires, which required a tow truck to get it home. I have a 2006 Harley Sportster 1200 and a Kawasaki Vulcan 750, both have tubeless tires and I have never had a flat on either one. The Kawasaki is about worn out. It is a 1997 model. I bought it new, and it now has 118,000+ miles on it, all mine. I have to ride a few hundred miles just to find a nice place to ride. The Sportster only has 12,000 miles on it, it should last me to the point where I can no longer ride larger bikes, then I will have the Rebel 250. I have ridden dirt and dual sport bikes most of my life, but I am no longer able to get on the tall seats, and I can no longer repair a flat tube type tire by myself out in the middle of the desert. Anyway, ride safe and have fun.

      Hi, I have a 2014 Rebel 250. I’m 230 pounds. I will say that if you practice slow maneuver skills on it enough it will handle fine. As Ali said, the lighter bike is actually much more manageable on the gravel/dirt roads. Just practice. And enjoy!

      @@ALICATMOTO I was going to ask the same question about Lance's bike, lol. I did the Tip to Tip ride back in July 2010. I live in Kentucky and had not been to PEI since 1962 when there was no choice but to take the ferry.

    Gotta giggle about the scooter comment, I own a NSS250 Honda Reflex scooter and even with my 240 pounds of fat butt I regularly easily blow the handlebars off of 250 Rebels any time any where. Not slamming Rebels because I loved both of the 250 Rebels that I have owned in the past. They are great and extremely durable machines and will easily go 70 mph all day long but I needed something much more comfy and because of my old age arthritis setting in I needed something where I could step through instead of the painful climb over, and I found it in my Reflex scooter. The thing I did not expext and learned in the first month of ownership was the awesome 85 mpg along with the GPS certified 86 mph top speed on a flat road with no wind. Also I never had to wear a backpack ever again and with the under seat storage and the 31 litre tail box I can bring home 2 weeks worth of groceries in one trip. All that being said, I would hold onto that little Rebel as long as you can afford to because they are great bikes, they were just never ment to be fast or very comfy on the butt for long 5 to 8 hour rides which I now regularly can do on the Reflex. I just got home from a 6 hour ride just before watching this video. Later folks, gotta go for a scooter ride!!😁

      Haha, I like that you found my video with such strange timing. It's funny how things work out sometimes. Yes, I agree my bike could be faster but I do find it comfy on my rear end. Happy you found what you like to ride. I think someone can have fun on anything two wheels. Keep riding and having fun! Thanks for watching and commenting!

      @@ALICATMOTO Ali I think we may have got our wires crossed on the speed thing. I don't think you need a faster bike at all unless that is something you want and have a taste for more speed. All I knew when I bought my Reflex was that it is a Honda and I like Honda. I did not do research ahead of the purchase because in my life time I have owned MANY Honda motorcycles and already trusted the brand and was rewarded with Honda quality. In my past I have owned nothing but crotch rockets and muscle bikes of all Japanese brands and that was fun but speed and quarter mile times just are not needed for a everyday get around town bike and it took a lifetime for me to learn that... the arthritis in my back, hips, and knees forced me to learn that. Later Ali, gotta go for a scooter ride!!😁

    I road to Yellow Stone National Park and the interstate runs at 80 mph; my GSA 1250 had no problem with the high speed. Riding a low cc bike at high speed results in higher vibration, and you run close to the redline. My wife wants a small bike, and a 250 would be a challenge for her.

    • @ALICATMOTO
      @ALICATMOTO 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, my bike definitely buzzes up the road as high speed with the engine just zinging 😆 I ride at 100 kmph often and it does fine. The lady who owned the bike before me used it for highway riding for years so it's broke in good. I think Honda's are tough and can handle it. The main thing for me is the gusts of wind I get from big rigs and such. I get knocked around a bit when they go by but not enough to keep me from riding the way I do. I'll upgrade eventually. I hope your wife finds the right bike for her. I'm sure she will enjoy riding. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊

    In the GTA we have the rash of early riding season fatalities. Causes? 1) Riders are out of shape, and awareness, and motor muscle skills have dropped during winter. 2) Riders don't compensate for this by being extra careful during the first few weeks of spring riding.. 3) Roads and tires are cold, so less grip if you try sharper turns at higher speeds. 4) The GTA has 905 fast "suburban" roads where vehicles approach an intersection at high speeds, making a miscalculation deadly. Conclusion: Drive like a careful woosie for the first weeks of Spring until you are back in the riding groove.

      Hi Chris, These are all very good points, thanks for sharing 😊 I'm quite familiar with the GTA and can say from experience that driving a car there can be a challenge on its own, I can't imagine what it would be like on a bike. Thanks for watching and stay safe!
