You got the key to the Ancients early. There's a part in the story that you gotta go find that key.

@ A great discussion indeed. The remake series so far from a technical standpoint is amazing. I loved the battle system and the game looks beautiful and some of the expanded content is appreciated. And Rebirth just takes it to another level. Now it seems clear that there's a downside to this because I HAD to mention the technical side of it because emotionally, I seriously just hate it. The story telling is just butchered to no end. There are some good parts to the story, but for the most part, I hate it. One IGN video said "less is more" regarding the Forgotten City ending and I'd have to agree. Sephiroth was presented too early in Remake. The Dyne story wasn't as good as the original, neither was Seto's and why did they turn take Weapon's feet and make him a whale? Idk, but the ending to Rebirth wasn't terrible on its own but they had a great opportunity to make it better. I DO love Zack's presence in the game along with Biggs. A lot of things were done right, but the most important scenes disappointed me badly. What's your take?

​@@NYCHeavyHitz212 Mhm mhm, I like the in depth thoughts on the remake. Yeah the combat is so much fun definitely a stand out, of all the other action based final fantasy combat systems. (turn based will always have my heart though) Mmmm Yeah I totally agree with a few of your points too I feel a fair amount of areas felt bloated for the sake of just making a longer game, like the Temple Of The Ancients, The Gi Cave and The Climb To Shinra Building. And yeah the story is everywhere, I'd like to say that I'm pretty clued on with story based games but I still have no clue what those ghosts are there for, they feel so unnecessary for a game already so complex with the story. I'm curious what you didn't like with Dyne's story? for me it was an absolute highlight it was heart breaking and I love the bond between Cloud and Barret slowly growing from just combat buddies to actual friends and Cloud starting to show a more caring side towards the people around him. But yeah 100% have to agree with the ending of Rebirth, it was a scene that they needed to get right but I fell they totally fumbled it. I think I understand what they were trying to portray, with Cloud slowly losing his mind and didn't comprehend what actually happened and they made the player see what he did, but with that it kinda dampened the emotional impact. And yeah I disliked both of the endings of remake and rebirth way too long and too many forms it felt endless. I think the weapon we saw in Rebirth wasn't any of the weapons that are in OG kinda like a lesser weapon, a warning before the planet sends out the big guys, I think we are gonna get all the weapons the same time as OG did, because all of the monster designs have been very faithful to the OG. Yeah when I first saw Zack back I was so angry not realising it was a multiverse thing (don't get me started on that XD) but I thought back on it and kinda not complaining now because I adore Zack, he is so high on my favourite character list. But in saying that I kinda don't like how they reveal all of the BIG plot points in both games, Zack is shown so early and is seen with Cloud when he has mako poisoning showing that something did happen to him in the past. And Marlene straight up says that Aerith will die, I know that the remakes are kinda for the fans and people who know the story but I feel bad for the people who's this is their first experience with the FFVII story, I really wonder how they are gonna do the reveal in Mideel and make it impactful. In saying all of this I’m on the opposite side I really love the remakes but they are incredibly flawed and I do have a fair share of gripes with them, but the characters 100% carry the game for me I adore character moments. I love the whole Final Fantasy franchise and I’ve learnt the hard way of having way too many expectation when newer games came out. I absolutely despised FFXV on day one because I had such high hopes and it was nothing like the others, but I kinda thought to myself that it’s not FFX, not FFVII and not FFXIII-2 it doesn't have to be like them to be great, pick the great things you love while also acknowledging the bad, no game is truly perfect. I’ve started to see that Remake and Rebirth are not OG FFVII and I’m okay with that (I do see why people hate that though) we still have the original we all know and love to look back to at the end of the day. I can really see that the developers of this game put so much love into the remakes there is so much detail and love in every part of the game and as a fan I appreciate that. Sorry for the absolute ramble I don’t talk to people much so this is like 4+ years of thoughts on this game, and most discussion on the remakes are a bloodbath with two sides at each others throats, the internet is scary ^^;

@ I just finished reading your reply and I thank you to no end for the engagement. Especially with SO much to talk about because it IS a ton of content, so I really appreciate your detailed response no matter how long it is - it's my favorite game/story after all. The Dyne arc, I'm not sure why, but I just felt like it was better in the original, lol I don't know how they could have made it better. The thing is, I don't mind a - I forgot the phrase - a remake that's more similar to the original. Is it "1 to 1 remake"? Like, obviously it doesn't have to be ALL the same, but at least make some scenes similar with the technology we have now. But yeah, I don't remember disliking Dyne's chapter, I just don't remember it like I remember the original. Of course, that comes with I played the OG more, so I'd have to experience the chapter again and see. Also, a thing with current technology is the music is way too orchestral and subtle compared to the original. I don't know how to correctly describe what the sounds are, but you definitely feel the melodies more in the 90s than now. I don't know how they can make more stand out melodies like they did before and match what the game looks like because I do understand that it's a whole cutscene now compared to back then.
