Can’t think of anything at the price topping this!
@@DestenSheng nope!
Hope the week’s been treating you well man 😄
@@DestenSheng likewise!
Here you go - Neo80
Got me there, that is a better one haha!
@@DestenSheng better of course there are. But within this range, this is the best
Very nice! I have WS Heavy tactiles and GMK WoB but might try some Xinhai and no foam after your video!
@@MarbsMusic ws heavy tactile has such a satisfying snappy sound signature. I’ll have to try that out sometime as I haven’t used those in awhile. Grown so accustomed to the lighter spring weights. Feels so nice and bouncy without the foams, whilst still sounding great in the acoustics end! Thanks for the feedback, and insights. Welcome to the channel! 😄
@@DestenSheng I keep going heavier and heavier for some reason, lol! My Xinhai are the heavy ones and I've become very fond of Nixies as well in regards to linear. Sadly in 6 months I'll probably find a lighter swtich I really like and put them in a bunch of boards spending more money on this hobby than I should :) I'm sure you can relate!
@@MarbsMusic haha I can definitely relate. That’s what I’ve been finding interesting. Just the time in which preferences can change in this hobby. From foams to no foams, linears to tactiles, all the in between. Don’t have any xinhai myself, but I do have things like EVA and the Lotus which are fairly heavy on the spring as opposed to like macchiatos or hyacinth v2’s
Hi! Great sound test. What is the config you used for this build?
Appreciate the feedback! Ive been meaning to redo a sound test on this with better audio after dialing in some things with my microphone settings. Be on the lookout as ive kept it the same for some time now, been loving it.Thanks for the comment Board: Neo 80 Foam: No Foams Mount: Gasket Mount Plate: Carbon Fiber Switches: HMX Macchaito linears Keycaps: Keykobo Mechanist
That actually sounds good ❤
Figured what better way to showcase some switches than changing things up a bit. The I’ve been so fond of, but been speaking with a few other with the board and decided to go FR4 this time. I gotta say I am not disappointed 💪🏼
Also been dialing in the audio on the blue yeti X and feel this sounds much better as well. (also trying to minimize the white noise from prior sound tests)
@@DestenSheng I watched this on my fone and it's not bad at all
I gotta say it matched well with the Pavlov!
@@DadTech1981 honestly the best pairing so far in my opinion out of all my keycaps so far. Appreciate you man!💪🏼
@@DestenSheng glad you're enjoying it! do you notice any difference with GMK?
@@DadTech1981 even for me it’s a bit hard to differ between the two. I think of it being blind folded and type testing. I’m not confident I’d would get it right as opposed to like JTK vs GMK or Keykobo. Keykobo is KILLING it recently
Satisfying
fr
Welcome to the channel. Glad you found some enjoyment. There will be plenty of of where this is coming from! Hope you had a solid weekend for yourself
Do you have Alu plate version of this configuration?
@@ardademir1 hey thanks for the comment, welcome to the channel. I didn’t actually get the aluminum plate. Been meaning to get it as an extra just haven’t done so yet.
Sounds like a duck "quack... quack...." in a + way
Haha after listening to it a few times I definitely get what you mean 😂😂😂
Neo65 is a staple on every enthusiast desk
Just hits different. Until that Tess 65 comes around. GB going live oct/nov with expected delivery q1 2025 👀
Would you say it is still worth to get rn?
1000% still worth it. For the price, quality, and multiple mounting styles, you’re getting so much for the cost. I built mine out with the navy body, a Dusk mirror pvd weight and a Carbon Fiber plate which is the highest cost and it was $129 plus ship which is absolute steal comparing it to retail boards like Razer, Logitech, etc. If not Neo 65, be on the lookout for my affiliate Divinikey, dropping a new heat 65 dubbed the “Tess65” collaborating with Modo. Price is very promising, and it’s definitely going to give the Neo 65 a run for its money! Here’s a link to check it out divinikey.com/collections/coming-soon/products/divinikey-x-modo-tess65-keyboard-sage
Thanks for the comment, welcome to the channel! 💪🏼
I just realized my other comment never posted my apologies, I strongly feel this is worth getting right now. For the price point of 129 fully decked out plus shipping. It’s one of the best bang for you bucks you can get. On top of that it’s multiple mounting styles make its a great sell. I prefer the gasket mount for the bounce, but the gummy o doesn’t sound bad either. I just prefer to use my array 65 for gummy o ring. Strongly recommend that or look out for my affiliate Divinikey on the “Tess 65”
@@DestenSheng What about the new evoworks evo80, it sounds like a far better deal than the neo65
@@Nathan-cx1ks evo80 seems like a steal. Was actually trying to see if I can get sent one to review. The board looks fantastic, as well as sounds great. It’s also leaf spring mounted which intrigues even more!
Which one do you think is louder? Between EVA and Hyacinth v2
Thanks for the comment. Both are fairly loud in sound, I would say Hyacinth V2 gives a higher pitch making it more clacky, as opposed to HMX EVA. Still a loud and clacky switch as well, but a slightly deeper tone on the EVA's. So overall id say Hyacinth V2 !
@@DestenSheng thank you so much it nice review 🙏
@@แมนจูกัว You're very welcome. Feel more than welcome to keep the questions coming when or if they arise. Would be happy to share my thoughts on anything I can!
Neo getting some love! Audio is way better btw
haha realized its been far too long for the neo 65 and had to show some love, what better way than to pair it with some new keycaps. Thanks for the input on the audio as I definitely value your opinion. Hope your having a splendid weekend
Hands down my favorite color so far 💜
Thank you honey, I’m glad you enjoy it as much as I do 😄
does the tadpole gasket feel stiff? (that didn't sound right)
Not at all, actually quite bouncy for the typing experience
@@DestenSheng do you have the option to choose the hardness of the tadpole or is it just one?
@@DadTech1981 sadly only one option similar to how the neos come with one one gasket, but very very pleasant typing experience forsure
@@DestenSheng the frog TKL also utlizies tadpole that acts like a top mount. Typing feel is stiff but not hard as a rock. They have the option for a softer/stiffer tadpole.
@@DadTech1981 I would definitely grab some of the softer gaskets. Frog is such a solid board! 👀
sounds good but the bunny is nowhere to be found
Couldn’t fit it in the short view for the vertical shot 😂
@@DestenSheng poor bunny
@@DadTech1981 haha i know, ill have to do a longer form video to get that full 4k without the crop to get it all
Nice, the alu array needs some love.
that's wild on the timing, i was legit just looking at it right before seeing it and was thinking the same thing. Tactiles or linears, and maybe GMK Tazu or Metroplis. Also got some PBTfan Sets that would work as well, let me know your thoughts and ill make the next one! Thanks for dropping a comment
Yeah I like the sound of the SB on this board
same, its hitting different for sure right now!
Legends say that spacebar is still hitting 😂😂😂💀😂
Tai chi + pp = certified clack beast
Not lying about that, may have to leave it this way for some time
never got too into split boards but that one just looks soo right
THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND. I hope all is going well for you brother, this is the first Alice style keyboard I have. Wanted to pick one up for the extensive periods of typing with the main job, it took some time getting used too but was so worth it!
@@DestenSheng you're the legend dude with all those TOA finishes! haha but fr that keyboad just does it so right lol
@@theirishbear_osrs still counting in honor of our fallen brother. We gotta get some soon man
The best keyboard I’ve ever heard so relaxing🤤🤤🤤
Glad I could provide some relaxation during these troubling times were facing in the world. Appreciate the comment/feedback, and hope I can keep providing some enjoyable content for yourself!
@@DestenSheng that's so deep. I love the SB the most
@@DadTech1981 it’s definitely hitting for a 6.25. Couldn’t have turned out better, all thanks to you sir 😄
Throughly enjoying them!!!!
ayyyyyyy how are you liking the Y1s?
That KTT slaps!
Before HMX, it was all about KTT LOL. Dropping the package off to the post office once I’m off work here in awhile. Will dm tracking, sorry for delays. Been crazy over the past week
@@DestenSheng I used to be a big fan of Akko keyboards and switches lol no worries!
@@DadTech1981 Akko lavender purps will always have a place in my heart LOL. Sincerely apologies for the delays, will get on it in the next hour or so when I’m free 🤌🏼
@@DestenSheng the v3 yellow/blue pro for me. love those switches to this date
I personally bought this board totally for its look so I would not complain about the sound profile.
As did I, visually it’s so appeasing especially its two tone design. Just feel with when I typing it losing that sense of euphoria for me. I must say that I’ve since force broke the board, and it sounds SIGNIFICANTLY better and has become an everyday use for me.
@@DestenSheng Wow great tip! Will definitely try it.
Of course, was testing different plates and foam configs, and @forg.a ended up giving the God tier advice, they were NOT WRONG.
this melt my brain
Hope it’s a good kind of melt 😂
@@DestenSheng do you know the feeling when you pop the bubble warps ? this gives me the samw féęłîņğ
@@nekimarun haha oh I think I know exactly what you mean 😂
What mounting style are you using?
my apologies for not having it included, its currently gasket mounted!
Easiest board to build. Put them together and call it a day. No wonders it's my favorite TKL.
haha i guess you can say the Neo 80 is rated "E For Everyone"
How are you adjusting to the heavyness?
They’re not bad at all, I used the ws heavy tactiles for awhile so I got used to heavier switches. Then went down the HMX rabbit hole, it’s nice to have a heavier spring to help reduce typos
@@DestenSheng agree, that's ideal for work keyboard. That or tactiles.
@@DadTech1981 yeah, can’t ever go wrong with that! Otherwise my emails would be long like a little kid was typing 😂
I just noticed the premium looking minimalist deskpad
It’s the FishFish line from Divinikey 👀
KKB gang here we go!
About to take all my money 😂
The set is perfect for the board. How are you liking the switches and keycaps?
I thought the same, at first I thought maybe too much burgundy… then I thought there’s no such thing 😂 keycaps and switches are absolute steals when it comes to cost, and look and sound so appeasing!
@@DestenSheng nothing is too much if you like it ;)
Mr. Crabs sound:
I can’t un-hear it now 😂
I'm wondering how the learning curve for this thing is.
It’s a bit of a curve forsure. Caught myself having a lot of typos forsure, but after a few consistent days of using it feels significantly easier to type. And much more comfortable in my opinion.
Looks like you 💅 it. (see what i did there) 🤣
I see what you did there. Glad I took 10 mins to do that…for a moment I thought it was as good as 🪦 😂 also saw the dm late, wish I would have tried sooner and saved us all the hassle lol my bad
No filters? Love the clack
Just a minor noise suppression and a raised gain. No gate no compressions, etc. Honestly not fond of all the white noise so going to have to do some testing, does it sound better this way than the video sound tests?
@@DestenSheng the ac or whatever it is is audible. But I will say this sounds better.
@@DadTech1981 yeah, definitely need to do some more testing on the gains so it’s less white noise and more Clacky goodness, good to know it sounds better and my focus is around negating the white noise at this point 💪🏼
Sounds amazing! Can't wait to receive mine
It was such a wait, but I gotta say it was worth every bit of it! Hope you get yours soon😄
please remove all the filter from the mic, it s not representative
appreciate the feedbacks, don't have any filters on the mic. Just a Yeti X on cardioid
just actully checked and there is the yeti X blue voice on with classic radio, my apologies. I'll put out a better sound test without the filter on sometime this week
@@DestenSheng I kinda noticed that somehow too
@@DadTech1981 realized I had it on when I launched the g hub app. I’ll have to do some testing!
@@DestenSheng I mean we have pretty much similar audio input (Blue Yeti) I don't think it would make much difference. I don't have any filter, it's directly connected to my phone when i shoot videos.
Felt like I am in a theater. I am a fan of your videography. I have one question though, did you just build the whole thing again? LOL The foamed config is aight. But you know how we do…. no foams! The touch of RGB is interesting. Not something you see on every board these days.
I did rebuild the whole thing again😂 Anything for the content! Huge thanks on the compliment, I feel there’s still so much room for me to grow. The RGB is a nice touch, have used it on and used it off and I think I do enjoy the rgb off for a cleaner and classier look. Definitely a unique take and as you mentioned, not a lot of boards have nowadays.
@@DestenSheng I like my RGB but always find myself turning it off when using it. I leave it on when I go afk. When I get back to my desk, a light show awaits.
@@DadTech1981 hell yeah haha, come pack to the disco party! 😂
If it was also programmable and had an optional three split space bar it would be the perfect unibody keyboard.
I get what you mean by the optional three split spacebar, even without that still a ton of options. Could use Via to easily remap or reprogram the layouts as well. It's a great keyboard in my honest opinion. In stock sales go live on the 27th
This looks great!
Thanks honey, not as good as you tho ❤️
Congrats on the first stream on YT! Keep it up
huge thanks for the support man! Maybe the first of many, was different but not bad in any ways!
how much the thickness?
Don’t actually have a tool to measure thickness at the moment, but according to what I could find for the PBTfan sets, “The side thickness of PBTfans thermal sublimation keycap is about 1.3-1.4, and the top thickness is about 1.7mm” via kbdfans.com/pages/pbtfans-dyesub#:~:text=Keycap%20specifications,-The%20raw%20material&text=a%20shared%20mold.-,The%20side%20thickness%20of%20PBTfans%20thermal%20sublimation%20keycap%20is%20about,thickness%20is%20about%201.7mm.
Tuzi 👀
Had to show it off for the one time 😂 too clean but will get dirty so fast haha
side note... after some force breaking, I'm thinking the Pavlov sounds way better now. What do you think?
I'm excited to get my resonance R2 set in a few days! I'm pairing it with a milky white neo65 build. It's hard to find a GMK set that pairs well with off white/milk white so I'm hoping this does the trick.
I think it’ll pair extremely well with the board! When it comes to off white, I have a few boards. When it comes to GMK, I’d say Botanical, Kaiju, striker r2 are the sets I have that I use on that off white/cream. Resonance would pair well with the off white, blacks, and true white. And then you could always use the mods to spice things up! 😄
@@DestenSheng metropolis r2 was a though too. I may still buy a second set, who knows. The plan is to keep the neo at home and take my KBD75 to work. My KBD keycap set is a little bright for an office lol
Definitely get what you mean, attracts a lot of attention instead of that classic and clean BOW or WOB
Clean and green 🌳 color matched keycaps and deskpad seals the deal 💯 nice sound test as always
Had to take some notes from a fellow dad I know. Been killing it with the keycaps and deskmats 👀 I’m just trying to get there one set, and a deskmat at a time lol
@@DestenSheng taking it slow but well worth the wait!
Just bought a set :->
I hope you enjoy it as much as I am! I sincerely appreciate the use of the code to help support the channel 😄
Black and white theme is timeless. Clean desk setup.
Can’t ever go wrong! I think it’s time to swap the keycaps. Just means taking apart two boards all over again 😂
In terms of SB, do you think 7u sounds better than the standard ones like 6.25u?
Honestly a great question, I personally do feel the 7U sounds better than 6.25 for the most part. But there are some boards that I have the 6.25 on and I will say sometimes it be HITTTTTING
@@DestenSheng My neo80 with 7u sounds brighter than 6.25u. Not sure if its the copper weight adding heft to it.
It might be, for the Array 65 i have, i originally had it with 6.25 but after that swap to 7u never looked back haha 6.25 i only use if im forced too, other than that 7u all the way for me!
@@DestenSheng I guess my gripe with 7u is I lose some bottom keys and the window key being too small as I do a lot of screenshots
yeah i get what you mean on that, definitely makes sense. Using the Pavlov right now so im using the 6.25 as we speak lol
nice👍
Appreciate the feedback, want to give an idea of what the Sandwich plate would be like for anyone who is interested in the purchase before the in-stock sales go live.
