Thank you, I appreciate you sharing your idea, I think it turned out pretty good. My soft cover tore open from the side, so I was looking at inexpensive methods to repair, replace, or just diy it. I think I'm on my way. 😊 👍
Wow, this whole design is genius man. Using the pvc to lock, brilliant. I have a 2017 F150 and work on commercial construction sites so plywood and whatnot is easy to grab, so I was looking into using some for a tonneau cover. I’ll have to look into this, thanks man!
The old girl is running mighty rich, if it was running good I would check my float or float level in the carb otherwise a very decent example, congrats!
@@tc25d congrats on your success with the PW! They really are great trucks and I have never driven a vehicle that draws more attention and starts more friendly conversation. Mine is coming along nicely I will be mounting all the fenders and running boards this week and permanently mounting the box in its final location. Then finish assembling of the cab interior parts then wiring. The bad thing about my truck is I have built a true trailer queen, I did something I swore I would never do, and I did it! The other crappy part is I have 2 guys that want to buy it already. I am torn on which way to go?
The truck I bought already had a homemade bed cover, but a single piece though, so I thought I might as well keep it. I'm going to take some of your ideas to improve it. Thanks.
Great job. Like everyone else, I think the PVC locking system is Brilliant. I really like the fact that your design requires no drilling into the vehicle itself. Thanks for sharing.
I did the same with free plywood. The hinges cost $10. The flex seal spray and rubber tape cost $36. Black duck tape $5. Total of $51 bucks..it probably wont last. At least I have a Templet until I can find better free materials.
Super sick video ! I want to do something similar with my truck. I don't have those holes in the truck where the PVC pipes go! Anyone have any suggestions for how I can get around that?
Great!! Ok!so i bought a 89 Toyota pickup truck with a water tank and pressure washer and everythng for auto detailing business in December. The truck bed is similar style with wood. The wood is starting to Warp and crackand i sprayed it with bed liner but it mighta been too late. I can do all the stuff just like yours but i would love to see how you get it to stay on. Like the contraption to stick the wood to the truck.
The downtuned version works well with your voice! The real question is how are you playing all these instruments at the same time in different parts of the room??
Cool idea Austin I'm watching from UK, we would definitely need the tarp plus sleeping bags 😂
Brilliant!
Dude...great idea! I like the lock feature. Doesn't mess up truck. Cool
Looks nice!
Bro knocked this out of the park
Thats freaking sweet nice job
Using wood and Gorilla tape really turned out nice and functional. Like the way you contoured the rear along tailgate.

Made It for my pickup following your work. Thankyou for sharing this idea. Have a Nice Life bro
nice
A for effort.
Dude, ya should've bought a Kodiak canvas truck tent....... Well worth the money.
I would have clamped the tarp over the pvc for rain protection and then simply put up a regular tent on the platform.
Genius on the PVC locking mechanism!!

Cool! Very simple build. Thanks be safe!
Saw this beauty at the dog park the other day and took a photo of it. What a truck!

What size pvc pipe did you use ? 1/4 or one inch in diameter pipe 🤔
The price of all this is nowhere near $200 lmao it’s like $65
So…. How long has it lasted
You can buy tents that fit on a truck bed

That would work with my 1964 Ford F250. This is very impressive in its simplicity.

Great idea. Worked out well it looks like. Lake Havasu ☀️ AZ

How has your DIY tonneau cover been working out for you?
💯

AHH drinking beer while using power tools a man after my own heart. makes building more enjoyable.
There are truck bed tents.
What was your out of pocket cost?
Nice job, thanks for sharing, thumbs up! Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya
good job 😎
I didn’t think it was possible but it is in this video. You should def do more covers! There’s not enough!

Nice job. Your platform built was a very simply build and seemed cost effective.
Whats the measurement of the mosquito tent? I want it!!
Thanks
Wondering if you mixed acetone and polyester resin as a first coat if it would last longer than primer.
