I believe love isn't a single feeling, it's an all-encompassing force driving me to self-improvement. Before love, I didn't really care about getting a decent job with prospects or even fitness, that was only done through vanity and even then that was occasionally, that was until i met "the one" my soul mate, she had my head spinning so much that I was now striven for excellence, for perfection even, any other desires before meeting her simply vanished - only this lass mattered, this special one, this person who consistently made me feel as if i had won the lottery but not in any financial way but the lottery of life, it's purpose/meaning then the inevitable profound shift in one's priorities also changed my life, it was like a mission, a mission of one's self perspective to be the best version of myself i could be, e.g. prioritizing my appearance and well-being and avoiding the usual distractions, well intended or not, anyone who was holding me back, keeping me down, ie what i use to see as just getting high with my friends i now viewed as them probably unknowingly but still assisting/aiding me, in that scenario i blamed there selfishness ablit again probably unknowingly and unintended but still this act will more often than not keep you down keeping you to their level my thought process then was a true friend wouldn't even think about asking you to join them, giving the high probability of the outcome (so you know the context and the reasoning for my dramatic analysing the drug of choice back then swiftly changed from ganja/weed to the life sucking poison known as Heroin, ie Smack, Brown, Gear etc...) so back to the high points (pun intended lol) My sudden and again unknowingly needed transformation was sparked by the power of love, no two-ways about it, so strong was this "feeling" that i not only believe but know from my own personal experience that it can also beat addiction hands down and quite easily too, in my own opinion this down to the "perspective" aspect of love, that desire, that willingness to be "the best you can be" also knowing the destructive and negative impact addiction breeds, including the typical stereotype aspect, (probably moreso in fact) that shame associated with labels/tags like: bottom of the barrel, scum, selfish, dirty, lowlife, lying, deceitful, thieving, these are common lifestyle traits, buzzwords that are entwined and always and probably forever associated with addicts (rightly or wrongly, just or unjust) thankfully though these are polar opposites to what/where being in love takes/has you, at least this is my experience anyway and my "2 cents"
