Axkid ONE - Repair of ARB wheel
Very simple video replacing the little grey wheel for the ARB on an Axkid ONE. We repair all seats in Sweden, and other countries, for Axkid and were surprised to receive this seat from another store since it's such a simple repair.
The wheel had likely been damaged by a child kicking hard. Happens every now and then. Replacement is as you can see very straightforward.

Hello, which size loops are best for this car please?
Described in the notes
Very helpful video, thank you :)
Hello, any link to this spare arb wheel? I need this to be changed and cant find it anywhere. Thank you.

Whilst this is a lovely video of them installed. I cant find a video on how to actually install them. do you have any further guidance?

No need to drill, just push it down.
Does the Britax MAX SAFE PRO have the same issue? i've read it's for up to 7 years (61 - 125 cm | 36 kg) looks much better then this version
Our advice is to ignore the Britax nonsense and use the seat as long as your child will fit in the seat and don't exceed the 25 kg weight limit. Max-Way and Max-Way Plus are both easily top 5 of the best rear facing seats ever produced. Cheap, light weight, compact safe and Plustested. You will struggle massively to find better seats. The new Max-Safe Pro/Safe-Way M are not better seats but MW/MW Plus are no longer produced.
@@CarSeatSweden Thank you so much!
Hi! Di you know if it is the same issue with their new model: max safe pro? Or can it be used up to 125?
Max-Safe Pro and Safe-Way M both last the same amount of time rear facing. Seat shell is taller than Max-Way/Max-Way Plus but head support of the newer seats don't really stick ut above the shell. The advice from Britax regarding the older Max-Way/Max-Way Plus should be completely ignored. Use these seats as long as child can fit under head support.
@@CarSeatSwedenThanks for your quick reply!
Thats exactly how im going to do that for my twins
Which attachment loops are these? the 160mm or the 120mm ones?
Extra long in the back and long in front as in previous reply.
These aren't the ones from Axkid, their site says "Total length is 15 cm" (150mm) for the "Extra long" version.
@@nanook1337 Same length, Axkid has made copies of our loops. Depends on how you measure. Please take a look at our detailed photos with measurements on the site.
Which attachment loops are these? the 160mm or the 120mm ones?
We always use extra long loops in the rear
How do you remove these bolts, and how do you screw them back? Do we need to use any specific loctite on them? We have a model y and we just got the axkid minikid 4.
Removed with a socket wrench, attachment loop added and then tighten bolt. No Loctite. A five minute job.
@CarSeatSweden can we find the first anchor points that stay within the rail on your website?
@@ionkon All of the attachments loops are found on our sit
Can the max way plus be installed forward facing?
No
Hi there, do the loops go under the rail between rail and floor or do they slot into the rail in the middle?
Loops go under rails.
Such a great option for regular and medical taxis, takes up so little space in the trunk (and quite easy to install), compared to having a regular rf seat + hbb!
Hi, do you have these plastic parts for the safeway-m? My seat is brand new only used for 5 weeks and the belt is already fraying! Do you ship to the uk? Thanks
If harnesser your brand new seat is fraying then go right back to your dealer and ask them to fix it or provide a new seat.
@CarSeatSweden its brand new and already a second seat as the first arrived damaged in transit. They will leave me without a carseat until they receive the returned one, then ill need to wait a further 5-7 days to receive the new one. I've also been told there will be no difference to the new one so it will also fray very quickly
@@roz7158 It's difficult for crotch strap to fray and only after long mis-use. Should otherwise never happen. Also, your retailer should of course ship you a new seat right away after seeing photos and perhaps a short video or the damage which you surely already sent. If not then complain to Britax UK that the retailer is useless.
Is there a crash test video?
Not sure what crash test video you are referring to. The seat has passed the R129 testing which is fairly tough. No official ADAC testing has so far been done since the seat is brand new. I know that unofficial ADAC testing has been done and results were good. Testing by ADAC is in general not worth anything since the procedure focus very little on safety.
I didnt know Teslas have the lower anchor attachment! Thought only Volvos in US have them!
First, Volvo has attachment loops installed in most countries but often not in US since the seats there are so amazingly poor. Second, Tesla does not have attachment loops from the factory which is why we install these separately.
Where in the bottom area did you fix the 2nd belt? I have only 1 fixation in my VW ID.4
Don't really understand. Lower tether straps are always attached under the two seat rails. As far back as possible.
You are likely looking at the connector for top tether. This should never be used for tether straps.
i do not see a problem with using the seat straps in forward facing as it should have same function as for rear view facing.
It won't unfortunately, because there is no support leg in use in forward facing mode. For forward facing seats you need a third point of anchorage (support leg, top tether, bracing, seatbelt) to prevent the seat rotating forward too much in a crash. There is no comparison of support leg vs no support leg because EU seats with support leg it is usually not possible to fit the seat without the leg. But you can find if you google American comparisons of top tether vs no top tether. The result would be the same and so there would be a very high chance of the child impacting the front seat. Very dangerous.
So cool! Impressive seat. My only concern is - don't you think people are going to try and use this forward facing with the harness anyway? A lot of people don't know about support legs/top tether and may assume that since it physically can be installed that way, there's no harm in using it that way.
Good point. I don't think it will be an issue since parents purchasing this seat will know a thing or two about car seats. And must also be able to afford it. We do unfortunately see idiotic parents using our common pure rear facing seats as forward facing seats all the time. Same with infants seats. TinySeats Two should be available as a pure rear facing seat with Plus Test approval next year. Will take care of the issue of harnessing FF but the seat is also then less versatile.....
Hi, sorry- what size pop rivet did you use here? Thanks for video
25X6 mm
@@CarSeatSwedenGreat thanks
What size pop rivet did you use? Thanks for the video
You are likely referring to some other repair since no rivet is replaced when changing the harness
The biggest problem with both Axkid One and Axkid One 2 is that neither is available in the USA. :(
Not a problem. We ship globally and seats are there in a few days.
Where you bought that part?
We have parts in stock for our customers
@CarSeatSweden it possible to buy it online?
@@Briseis683 We will be happy to assist you if the seat was purchased from us. Otherwise your retailer will surely take care of this for you.
@@CarSeatSweden I live in Poland. You are far away from me :)
Hi there, it looks like you fitted these on top of the rail rather than between the rail and the carpet? Is that correct? Is there not a chance that with an impact the weight of the babyseat moving would pull up and bend the plate of the loops upward toward the chair, thus taking away some of the strength? I ask because I need to buy the extra long ones for my BMW and the dilemma I have is that if I fit them between the rail and the carpet, the front of the seat will be bolted to the carpet and the back of the seat will be bolted higher because it sits on the loop attachment. I would prefer them inside the rail and I believe they will fit, but will this cause an issue with potential bending of the metal?
Loops are installed top of rails since Tesla is one of few brands where it isn:t possible to place loops under rails. They might bend slightly under high forces but they will still do their job. In BMW, and other brands, we always install under rails since this is far stronger and also easy. The loops are only a few millimeters thick and the tiny extra height is irrelevant. And we always use the long loops in rear for BMW and they fit perfectly.
And what about front view?
Not sure what you mean?
How tall of a driver can you fit in front of the seat?
Quite tall driver. Angle of Minikid 3 could be decreased and more leg space could be provided for child if needed. Minikid 3 is together with Axkid One 2 and Britax Max-Way Plus the most compact rear facing seats.
Where can I get this replacement from?
Your retailer will surely be happy to take care of this right away
Great video, thank you. Bought the max way plus 2 years ago. Our very tall child is 2.5 years old and is now nearing the max height! Had no idea as we spent a lot of money on this seat to be able to use it until 5-6 years of age. Wish I’d got the axkid instead! Can’t afford to buy another expensive extended rear facing seat so looks like I’m going to have to forward face much earlier than I want to!
It's a great seat despite the public information disaster by Britax. Those who are informed about rear facing seats know that Britax are completely wrong. A person in UK was likely asked and had no idea about rear facing seats or the millions of Euros this would cost the company for no reason. There is no official maximum height but Britax are saying that the seat is outgrown when eye level is at top of outer shell. This usually means around age 4 or about 110-115 cm. Have never heard of a 2.5 year old being that tall so hopefully you have plenty of time left. Britax have zero seats offering longer rear facing time and are years behind other well known brands.
Where are the tether straps attached?
Link to detailed photos and explanation in the description.
This is a massive setback after paying around £300 for a seat that only lasts 3-4 years as rear facing. Britax owes customers at least a discount voucher based on this information alongside poor or misleading safety advice.
Bonjour ou est il possible d acheter le kit ? Merci
Mesmo com a cadeirinha corre o risco de dá um mal jeito no pescoço!!
Not sure what you mean. There are basically zero neck injuries with rear facing children.
I was about to buy this carseat for my daughter but she will reach the heigh by the age of 4 for sure. Wish there were more options at this price.
I got this seat and all installed in my car not too long ago. She is 2 now was hoping to have her rear facing until at least 5! We will see how her height is over the years and I will keep this in mind.
Correct. But Britax are wrong and likely asked some person at their HQ in UK who had no idea about rear facing seats.
Thank you. That was very informative. Hopefully someone comes out with better seats for rear facing!
Ainda bem que eles usam um boneco
Please what is the difference between Axkid Minikid 2 (2021/2022) and Axkid Minikid 2 (2022/2023)?
You can read about the differences on the product page, www.carseat.se/product/axkid-minikid-2-2022-23-sea/ Largest difference is the improved head support which now (again) is a bit smaller and will allow kids to stay rear facing a little longer than previous Minikid 2.
Do you have any videos of how the minikid 2 and minikid 4 fits in a Saab?
🏃 ᎮᏒᎧᎷᎧᏕᎷ
This would make sense if the driver crashes into something, yeah rear facing all the way but what happens when something crashes into your back at the same impact, then it will be the exact same thing your tryna prevent
Not really..... Injuries on kids in collisions from the rear are very rare. This is why there is so little focus on thes types of accidents. Main reason for the low injury rate is that cars are traveling in the same direction which makes a huge difference. Speed of collision is also almost always very low.
and the rear facing car seat is in the front!! so at least put them side by side to show the affects of the rear facing
What if someone hits you from behind?
+Rev The same thing unless they car they are in is driving fast in reverse which people don't do normally. The same outcome if they are rear ended as in this video.
It's funny how they don't show the other dummies head moving I hate these videos because they never really show the real thing and I bet you that other dummy wasn't even buckled in correctly so that they can try and sit there and say oh you need to do rear-facing that's the way to go... Blah blah blah. This is the most fake video ever. First of all the one in the front his head barely moved second of all the one in the front I'm sure they tightened all of his straps to make it look really good and loosen the one in the back. I've seen a whole study recently showing that rear facing car seats if you get hit from behind it's way different story and that's why they don't think it's safe anymore. Look it up and that's why you don't see anybody showing back and collisions with dummies collisions cause more damage for rear-facing babies I mean there's a whole freaking study about it.
And they didn't alter with anything in this video including taping the head to the back. The car seat in the front his head would have moved at least a little bit but no it didn't cuz obv they have it strapped down or something who knows I don't understand what everyone's obsession is with rear facing is the way to go. After I seen that study on Google about how back in collisions can cause more damage for rear-facing... Yeah I know and then after seeing these videos and how fake they are and how they don't even strap in the forward facing dummys like what. You can clearly see you're trying to make rear facing look good. Enough is enough. I would do anything just to do my own crash test dummy and actually show the world.
@@Atiba-po9rlstop rambling please 🙏 rear facing seats are usually safer because when you rear ended less force is usually being exerted on your body. If you’re rear ended you are pushed into the seat then wipped forward so overall it is safer in a rear facing seat as there’s always going to be a crash where a certain seating arrangement isn’t going to be the safest. The point is just to minimize it. But for every rear end there is always a head on collision but there isn’t always a rear end for every head on collision
What I don't understand is why the forward facing seat isn't strapped in properly. At least strap them both in properly so the odds are even.
In Sweden, they don't use forward-facing 5 point harnesses. They use rear-facing seats until the child is five or six, and then go to a belted booster as pictured.
It is installed correctly, that is how much a euro standard seat moves around around in an impact.
Had fantastic service from Mohammad few weeks ago...definitely recommend them to install your seat. Wish I would have kept rear facing after seeing this though.
Without the full car being tested as well, does this affect the outcome of the crash test or is this countered?

There is no comparison to be had, rearfacing is the only good option
