Hello!
This is an easy DIY project decorating miniature faux taper candles for display in small scenes, dollhouses or celebrations made from food grade round toothpicks. Purchased 1:12 scale Chrysnbon candlestick holders are shown with decorating ideas.
The video shows the “taper candle” shaped from round wood toothpicks bases, painted and then topped with a string wick & imitation flame top. Similar miniature candles could be made from clay, rolled paper, purchased or small wood dowels.
These wood taper candles measure approximately 7/8” height/length & 1/16” diameter. The candle holders measurement ranges from 5/8” height/length & 3/8” diameter, the total height can vary around 1” or less.

Materials & suggested items for project:
[1] toothpicks - round diameter approximately 1/16”, tapered tip ends, natural wood, approximately 2 1/2” length or similar items like cocktail sticks
[2] paints - acrylic colors & small paintbrushes for candles & spray paints for holders
[3] glass paint - yellows (a yellow paint with glossy sealer may be another option) only need a very small amount for imitation flame
[4] small clamps or tiny clothespins
[5] sewing thread - white or cream for wick bits
[6] ruler, pencil
[7] glue - PVA clear dry, like Aleen’s original tacky glue or others, matte sealer
[8] containers to hold glue or paints, like a bottle cap & toothpick applicators
[9] scissors, craft knife & cutting mat
[10] tweezers
[11] fine sanding paper or Emory board or sanding stick
[12] small wire cutters & pliers
[13] quilter pins, beads, jewelry findings like earring backs to make candle holders or purchase something like Chrysnbon polystyrene plastic candlesticks & holders, cotton ball bits or glitter or paper could also be used for faux flame
[15] optional permanent markers, color pencils for additional shades, spray paint
Accessories: cakes, napkins, dishes
