Please do the developer Jonathan Blow a favour for his excellent work by buying this on console or PC when it comes out on 14th May. I'm not uploading any more of this commentary, nor am I even listening to it myself, I'm waiting until release to play it on PC or console.
Wade Boggs' 3000th Hit (1999) - Baseball's Best Moments

This is actually a reupload of a copy someone else uploaded on TH-cam not too long ago: I'm only re-uploading as I have often been the victim of people unexpectedly deleting videos, and I'd like my collection of these to be a complete one. Back in the mid to late 2000s, MLB.com ran a series I really enjoyed called Baseball's Best Moments: 3-4 minute clips of baseball's most memorable moments th...
Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks (Radio Mix/Edit)

This version is of no relation to the rubbish Fred Falke Radio Mix one can find on TH-cam. This version is about 40 seconds shorter than the version most people have heard, but I really like the backing vocal piano bit before the final chorus at 2:12: the original version has only piano in the bridge. Heard this years ago and couldn't find it for as many years until I stumbled upon it on Apple ...

Happy 40th Anniversary!! Long live Goose and long live Gibby!
God bless you my 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates. The greatest family wearing the best looking uniforms in sports history!
I couldn't stand the Yankees growing up and the next day I went to school, all the Yankee fans got angry and cried about losing. They wouldn't let it go as I didn't feel sorry for them winning a lot. The Yankee fans said it's supposed to always be the Yankees Year. I thank the Diamond Backs for putting an end to the Yankees Dynasty
Luis Gonzalez made a Childhood Fantasy a Reality! You always dream and Fantasize that you're going to hit the Game Winning Hit of Game 7 of the World Series!
It’s a criminally underrated rated play
The Amazin's
Great player but seemed like an even better person!
My first and only team for me.
Well said !
Remember the Teufel shuffle when he was at bat ? 0:57
Was doing my schools after boot in San Diego that year 1984, caught 1 of those Tigers vs Padres games can’t remember which one but what a great year 👊
Shots of the crowd show alot of men in suit & tie. Different era.
On this day (September 16) in 1988: Reds pitcher Tom Browning tosses a perfect game against the Dodgers at Riverfront Stadium.
How did he do that? 🤣
That was a terrible swing for the home run. No idea how that even happened
First game ever at Yankees Stadium. 8 Years old with my dad, mom, uncle and 3 brothers. Still talk about it until this day.
The Expos were up 2-1 in that best of five series. Let it get away. I was on the bus coming home from Richelieu Valley High School when I heard the home run call on the bus radio. Crushing.😢
I was at that game I was 13
The endurance at that age to do that is remarkable
Is it just me or did the Expos logo look like the letters elb? Always confused me.
Yeah I've always thought the same - I've read somewhere that could stand for Expos Les Baseball or Expos League Baseball but that all sounds like codswallop to me.
I can't believe they played this song! 😢😮❤ I love this song!❤❤❤
Apologies for my brother's terrible voice at the end hahahaha
What was the set list
@@anthonywhyteakathedorsetan1573 setlist before encore was the same as previous H&F 20 gigs 4 song encore - Atlantic, neon river, sovereign light cafe, bedshaped (might have got neon river and sovereign mixed up but I don't think I have)
@@anthonywhyteakathedorsetan1573 they did play we might as well be strangers at some point before the encore (which is normally the first song of the encore) - don't think they missed out any tunes to fit in the 4 song encore
@@danielwarren3138 Omg! I would've loved listening to Neon River live 😭
@@anthonywhyteakathedorsetan1573 actually they didn't play sunshine
Kirk Gibson signed my Detroit Tigers hat at the Kingdome in '84. In fact, Chet Lemon got the whole team to sign my hat. Chet talked to us for a good ten minutes before the game and I had the audacity to ask him to hit a homerun for me. He asked me if I'd settle for two singles. Jack Morris was on the mound that night. Magical night.
There are times in baseball when the outcome defies the natural order and seems divined.
Rickey Henderson broke the record for career Stolen Bases that same WEEK!
He held up the base and said yesterday Lou Brock was the greatest base stealer, today I am. Every Sports headline said Nolan throws 7th no hitter! He was also Nolan's 5000th strikeout victim.
I remember that one, Bucky Dent (stuck in 10th grade that game but heard it in car radio when mom picked me up from school), Pine tar deal, Reggie becoming Mr. October, Reggie sticking hip out,...
They snorted so much coke they snorted the foul lines.
That whole team was on coke.
I had that hat. Everyone wanted one back in 79, 80. Made the song and Sister Sledge world famous.
There was speculation that the ending could have been different if Campanella was catching. Thompson homered off Branca in an earlier game & Campanella had a good idea of what pitches to call in the situation.
Kirk Gibson was and still is a Narcissist. He’s always talked down to those he felt weren’t his equal. Now that Karma has caught him (Parkinson’s) he’s still an A$$ hole. When on the current Tigers broadcast he’s a mumbling stumbling bafoon.
My thesis: This is Baseball's zenith. Gibby walk off. Hershiser scoreless streak. Canseco 40/40. Divisional era, no wild card. AstroTurf multipurpose stadiums. Pete Rose is still a part of baseball. Ueberroth commissioner. Collusion - teams kept best players. No interleague play - All Star Game and World Series meant more. Baseball card frenzy. The House that Ruth built. Ruth not Jackie Robinson is the most celebrated player in the game. Expanded September rosters. No clock. No sabermetrics. No ghost runners. Manfred has destroyed MLB forever.
Clutch! In 1987 and 1991, when his teams had a shot, he was clutch when his team needed it the most! In 1987, he ended a horrible late August slump with a two game performance of 10 for 11 with 2 HRs and a grand slam saving catch. This put his team back in 1st to stay. In the WS, down 3 games to 2, he goes 4 for 4 with a walk in game 6 and 2 for 4 in game 7 to greatly help his team win it. In 1991, after a tough loss at home in game 2 of the ALCS, he goes on the road and was the catalyst to winning all 3 games in Toronto to win MVP. Of course, down 3 games to 2 in the WS, a 3 for 4 performance with a walk, stolen base, RBI sac fly, a run saving catch, and of course the walk off HR in the 11th! In the 4 postseason elimination games, he was 9 for 14 with everything you can name to help his team.
1:44 "The 0-1 Pitch...A Linner Off Naggy's Glove...Into Centerfield! The Florida Marlins Have Won the World Series!" Bob Costas
R.I.P., Willie Mays.
Unbelievable that he never won a Cy Young award.
RIP Willy. One if the greats
Looks like he missed the first base bag. Let’s throw over and ask the ump.
Even the losers
John Smoltz pitched 2 of the greatest games in World Series history. This one and the game against Andy Pettitte and the Yankees. Unfortunately The Braves came up short in both games. But Smoltz came up BIG in both games.
Strange he named all former Cubs. Monday, Dawson, Scott, Burris, Lopes.
He's still an underrated pitcher, which is just incredible. I saw him pitch when he played for Houston, and had a seat behind the catcher. For 3 innings, I did not see the ball. You heard Ryan grunt and the pop of the ball in the catcher's mitt. Guys throw hard now, but no has ever thrown harder than Ryan. I think he threw something like 12 1-hitter and 19 2-hitters, and of course set the record for strike-outs which, like 7 no-hitters will never be broken.
His Dodger's HR in Game 1 vs. the A's was one of the best I've seen. Damaged but determined...
Watched the end of that game in the mailroom at work. I learned one lesson. Never bring a starter in to close out a game in cold weather. If they’re not loose and give up a solo HR in the first inning nobody cares but in the 9th or extras, they’re the goat.
Rest in peace someday Kirk Gibson.
I’m glad they decided ultimately to do this in a higher key. Suits Tom’s voice better
This is Tim Rice-Oxley on the demo that's why the key is lower
@@oyabi76 Clearly. I think this was probably originally written in this key - one or two of these demos have Tom singing, probably because they were written in too high a key for Tim to sing (though I'm not sure).
Look at that final pitch...straight down the middle and a HOF'er who could damned-well hit missed by a mile. If you didn't grow up watching Ryan at any point in his career...sucks to be you.
When Gibson first came up, the talk was that he was going to be the next “Mickey Mantle”
James Hatfield looks like Goose
We have a saying in golf. "Every shot make somebody happy!" As it is in Baseball. Gossage was an amazing pitcher. As was Eckersley! Gibson was clutch. A Spartan! With a destiny as a sports hero.
