Hey Finn, you dont know me but we went to school together though we never really talked. I have it as well and have struggled throughout school with bullying and other aspects of life. Just wanted to say keep doing what your doing, wish you the best.

I have Asperger’s and use to live in the U.K. I was brought up in the U.K. I could not get a job apart from volunteering work. Plus the only benefits I can get is the minimum of pip. When I been to claim benefits they said can you wash yourself can you drive a car and you cook a meal can you dress yourself can you live by yourself I said yes to all of this and they said I do not qualify for disability benefits. They never asked me if I can work in a fast pace job or manage stress or if I can make eye contact or if I can go to busy places and not be stressed out. If they had I would have said I can’t handle these things. So I could not get much support for the job center or the dole office or social services or from people wanting to employ me. Even an Asperger’s group did not want to help. I went to them and said I do reiki as am a reiki master and they let me and my mum chat to the mums and there children at a support meeting. The next day I got complaints. I also now take medication every day as I now have high anxiety. I feel so let down by the U.K. Also every time I dated a U.K. girl they would say they ok with me having Asperger’s as I would tell them sometime into our relationship and then they would just ghost me. I struggle a lot in life with my Asperger’s. I have now left the U.K. to live in the Philippines as my wife comes from there. I live on a tiny island in the Philippines. I will never ever go back to live in the U.K. the help and support in the U.K. is not there for people with mild learning disabilities. I am going back to the U.K. for a 2 week holiday in July. The main reason is so I can finally see Back to the future the musical. I came across you in a random Vlog about a relaxed performance of back to the future. I only found out I had Asperger’s when I was about 29 or 30 or 31. Plus I only found out about 8 years ago that I was half def had no idea I was. So I know what your are going through. I am Now in my mid 40’s and life will always be a struggle of me.

Honestly, American and British policies involving disability rights are so different but the systems are so bogus. I'm sorry the experiences ruined both of your days; you both didn't deserve that 😞

It's still ReedPop and they had accessibility stickers for badges. It seems like everything wrong prior and not with the event and not the event itself. I'm sorry but you need the DJs prior to the panels it's part of SWC and the level has to fill the room, the game shows prior to panels are again always a part of the event and I love the events for it. It was part of it in 2016 and again in 2023 and I love that. Oh and actually in some UK venues that are not cons do have these warmup acts. I went four days and had just about enough time to see the floor and panels and live stage. Even then I missed seeing stalls and didn't get into the Forbidden Planet store. It isn't just about you, it's about the community I think 180,000 people attended. It's not an assumption its a natural part of any convention. It's down to you leaving early and not using the whole day. On Friday we queued too long to buy a sandwich it was bad and bottlenecks in the main corridoor. I won zero lottery panels but still had plenty to do and had an amazing time. I was lucky to get lightning lanes for both stores and had no queue for the Lego store. All queues were marked so you can't make any mistakes, the stages were very spread out which I didn't understand. Also the location to collect posters was the other end of ExCel from the celebration stage which was bad. You can't have it both ways you choose to be front row and then complain about the volume. Also a watch can't detect noise levels correctly its a tiny microphone. I use actually dedicated equipment to measure sound and I can tell you a tiny mic will not show such levels correctly. For me I chose to be fourth and fifth row so I could see the guests up close and get some amazing shots with my Nikon. It's a disco level of sound nothing more, if it was any more I would have got up and asked them about the levels. It's better to sit down, then queue early than having them sitting on the floor or standing for a long time. The crowd needs to be built up, it's also broadcast worldwide like live TV. You can't please all the people all of the time. (you are denying yourself that, they didn't deny you of that). Take that away and masses will complain about wheres the DJs, wheres the pre show games. It's a much loved feature that tours around with the SWC train globally, remember this event tours the world they want to make sure the same experience is available. I do agree plenty of room space of ExCel was not used, seating was available which is better than previous ExCel cons I've been too but those empty rooms were huge and should have been used. There was a desk dedicated to anyone needing any help, instead of ranting about it now you could have raised it while on site.
