In the vein of the popular "Video About Toy" series comes a video one could call "Video About D&D." Shout out to @QuestingBeast This has had a weird uptick in views but only a couple (deleted) rude comments. Did this get posted somewhere? Feel free to comment if you're not a toolbox

Remove Film From Tray episode 15: Roller Blade Seven, Six String Samurai
Hello! I am the creator of this game. I enjoyed watching your gameplay video and would like to congratulate you on completing the game! However, what I’m truly interested in seeing is the journey you took, including the moments of trial and error you encountered along the way. Therefore, I checked your Twitch channel but found that the video of you playing this game was set to private. Since it has been three years, perhaps it no longer exists. If the video is still available, I would be delighted if you could make it public for me to watch.
Thanks for the comment and the wonderful game. I think most of my "practice" for this was done off-stream but any VOD on Twitch is definitely long gone. The trial and error was a lot of fun. Were you also responsible for the Jajamaru-style Gegege no Kitaro game by this same circle? I enjoyed that a lot but never finished it.
@@ExMortis00 It's unfortunate that there’s no archive available. I’m glad you enjoyed the 'Jajamaru-style Gegege no Kitaro game,' as I created that as well. Did you find it difficult? There’s actually a hidden command that lets you play as the powerful version of Kitaro. It’s a powerful mode, so I think you’ll be able to complete it. I’d love for you to try clearing the game while streaming! To access the hidden command, if I remember correctly, you need to hold the 'Up(↑)' arrow key while starting the game… or was it 'Down(↓)'? Maybe give both a try!
I've confirmed it: start the game while holding the 'Up' arrow key.
@@Sprite2023 If I recall correctly I kept dying during the boss fights for mysterious reasons. I'll use powerful Kitaro as a last resort. I lost access to a lot of doujin games when DLSite English closed (and now it's very difficult to buy anything on DLsite in America because it's been blacklisted by every payment processor) but I checked and I do have Yokai Nurarihyon and Touhou Gekidan Shiki on my account. I'll give them both another try!
@@ExMortis00 Did I happen to make an English version of 'Yokai Nurarihyon'? Could it be that you’re playing the Japanese version? If so, it might be a bit challenging. There’s a rule for defeating the boss, 'Nurarihyon.' Without figuring out this rule, it’s impossible to beat him. However, the rule itself is simple-defeat his underlings first before attacking him. Clearing Nurarihyon’s stage three times will lead you to the ending. As for 'Gekidan Shiki,' there is also a 'powerful hidden weapon.' It lights up on the far-right slot of the Power Select under certain conditions. This weapon can take down any boss in a single hit. Once you complete 'Yokai Nurarihyon,' please give 'Gekidan Shiki' a try. I’ll tell you the conditions for unlocking the hidden weapon.
Burrito...
Needs one more " burrito "
I know this video is really old but it's been a huge help for me. I've been playing through the fan translated MSX version (I'm too dumb to figure out DOSBOX) and had no idea what to do but am progressing slowly thanks to your videos. The MSX version is really truncated and cuts a lot of rooms and items out but this guide is still very helpful.
Never fails to make me laugh!!
One thing that upsets me is that Greg, in the later mega-dungeons, will allude to monsters, spells or treasure items from a different mega-d and just say "See Barrowmaze". If I'm paying $30 ffor PDF or $80 print, gimme what I need to run the darn game. One cool fact, however, is that the entire Northern Reaches (all dungeons) are placed on the infamous map from Avalon Hill's Outdoor Survival boardgame, which Gary Gygax used for early OD&D campaigning.
He writes adventures solely to make his students buy them to take his class. Its a racket.
Not quite sure any mega-dungeon could satisfy your demands for complete details. This is not a full campaign setting. Dwimmermount did that and most people complained. I personally appreciate the stuff left vague so I can put my spin on it. Scarabs and other items will indicate if they are magical in the description of room, if they just have a gp value, they are just treasure.
This comes off a little antagonistic! Anyway, I looked up the scarab situation we ran into and found it was rolled from the random sarcophagus contents table. Looking at other entries, the table DOES specify magical or nonmagical, but regarding GP value it says "refer to the introduction on scarabs," and there's nothing about GP value there. Seems like a little d4 table for platinum, gold, silver, electrum was left out or something.
@@ExMortis00 In that big section of random tables you can find grave goods value, I don't have the book in front of me but maybe use the Jewelry subtable? Sorry if I came off the wrong way, it's just that this type of product is a ton of work and none of the megadungeons are perfect. Stonehell Dungeon is my favorite (Michael Curtis) but it has ZERO topside campaign setting stuff). I really like its layout and one page / map quadrant makes for easy to no prep - and the treasure to threat distribution seems spot on to me. The treasure isn't always the reward for battle, very OSR approach. I recommend taking a look at it.
연재 감사합니다. 재미있네요. 한국에서는 1997년 발매한 소서리안 포에버만 삼성전자에서 정식 수입했는데, 어릴적엔 게임을 클리어하지 못했던 아쉬움이 남았습니다.
Burrito...
The whole conversation about Unfrosted was just fascinating.
Fantastic listen. We'll have to make reservations for The Stumpet sometime but they're really got to have a killer menu to take our meetings away from the stage and gaming tables.
1-in-6 chance of skeletons? What is this, a DOOM WAD? Har har.
Only listened to the audio. I can't believe we could have had pterodactyls!
That locust figure is badass.
I'm always tempted by Skeletors. Did you see Rey Mysterio was dressed as Stratos at WM 40? Nice vid. If you had an 80s toy line lecture series at a university, I'd attend.
I didn't watch this mania, but Rey and Dominik are two of the only guys I care about in WWE. Weird choice on his part but I hope the Rey Stratos figures warming every walmart peg in the country all sold the next day!!!!
Who is that little man?
That's Jack Shindo.
Ultraman SNES is a torture device to punish children who ask why toku heroes don't just do the finishing move from the get-go.
I like the big locust the most, but I would have loved any of these as a kid for their sturdy factor. I liked anything that could take a beating while rampaging against my other toys and hordes of army men. The dreams of children mutate us all.
It'd be fitting if the Snakemen heralded MOTU being put on ice for another 20 years.
Masters of the Universe was a bit before my time, but I always liked Skeletor's design and a lot of the designs here are funky in a cool way. I started watching the 80s episodes you mentioned on TH-cam shortly before Revelations was announced and kind of have a fondness for the weird antics, wish they had some of these characters that were too late to make it in; especially the mosquito guy and Scareglow.
I didn't know about the hot wheels, those are cool. Mattel never seems to really know what they're doing. They're meant to be one of the "big" toy companies, but really pale in comparison to the way Hasbro handles things. Not that Hasbro is perfect, but they make themselves more well known. I remember Mattel doing similar shit like this with the DC figures 15 years ago.
My favorites out of MotU Origins are Prince Adam and Keldor. Probably helps that both I bought at steep clearance, both box sets costing less than a single, regular figure. I've been lucky with not breakages but I guess that means I'm not playing with them enough I also didn't dive deeply into the line. Just a few figures that looked great and were on sale and then Scareglow at full price when he got a rerelease. Before I started buying Origins I was picking up a lot of the Mega Bloks/Mega Constructs sets but I've still to put together the Castle Grayskull. It looks great but it also looks like an absolute pain to build. I'm just happy with my Skeletor w/ flocked Panthor, Land Shark, Slime Pit, and Scareglow Good luck with Rio Blast. I can't see them not making him, it selling out immediately, and it being kinda less than the original toy, like with Roboto
I love the Land Shark but I just can't really justify getting a vehicle by itself even if target was giving away stacks of them, nowhere to put it. The only reason I have the skysled is it was also basically free and had a figure. The Hotwheels land shark will suffice.
Tested my Battle Tribes on dinosaurs and dragons I had on hand. Anything thin enough for them to straddle was also the scale of a dog to them and looked stupid. They are roughly the same height as Imaginext figures and have a wider stance, but the style and level of detail would be jarring I think. 3" seems to be the baby-toy scale.
Every time they come out with a really cool one, I'm broke. I was completely checked out of Glyos when they came out with the Doomguy and Baron of Hell Warlords of War and when they had the Golden Axe Battle Tribes.
Oh so that's how you pronounce mortis Going with the customization angle, check out Bone Age for your Battle Tribesmen. Full sets are expensive so maybe just trying to pick up a parts lot and build your own skeletal battle mounts? Also not 100% sure on the size. Bone Age cave men are bigger than Dino Riders, but might still be smaller than Battle Tribes. But the skeletons don't really have seats for the cavemen. You just sit them where they'll fit which may still work for Battle Tribes
I had some Bone Age as a kid and I've thought about trying to re-collect some but I remember the connector joints being really fragile so I never pulled the trigger. Good suggestion though it'd probably work
Cool toys. The exchangeable parts reminds me of some toys I used to play with, and the tiny extra ones remind me of these Ultimate Muscle like toys too. We had like some off brand, happy meal versions, but I remember them being kind of cool.
Are you thinking of Socket Poppers? I had a few of those, back in the day. Been trying to grab a few again on the cheap but not trying too hard.
@@ExMortis00 I can't remember, I was pretty little. Only thing I remember completely was the anxiety I had holding one near one of the air vents in my grandparents house; the kind that were in the floor with only a grate cover and could easily drop something in there and never see it again. Actually, after seeing your Mutagen Man video, they may have been more similar to the MUSCLE toys. Tiny, solid color figures in action poses, but with bigger heads.
Learned a couple cool things here. Didn't know the original mutagen man could hold water and what Muscle stood for. Enjoyed this very much :)
Thank you E.X. for these videos. I dig that cockatrice you made.
Here's to a great start to a new series! I like the pumpkin guy the most.
“The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.”
This is high weirdness.
Oh, I have been looking forward to this one! My best friend and I played a lot of Sorcerian back in middle school, and I remember this stage being especially lethal. I don't think either of us was very good at the game and we certainly didn't manage to level up enough for this area to be viable. Really gratifying to see the game played through. thanks!
Fucking Hilarious. Reed was such an obvious fraud
I'm glad that one other guy isn't in this episode he never shuts the fuck up about Jar Jar Binks
Yay 🎉
You captured lightning in a bottle with this one, dude! Wouldn't mind hearing more C2C stories like this

Bro my cousin and I have been searching for this video for YEARS. I remember finding this on a forum about Alien encounters. This is so funny. The infamous “burrito”
Are you guys still doing these? Hoping you’re just taking a short break.
You're still putting vids up on this channel! I'm subbed but they never come up in my feed. I was watching a recording of one of your Twitch feeds today and having, like, a conversation with your stream of thought stuff on there. How goes learning the OSE?
why would anyone unleash something like this upon an innocent world?
Lol 😂
This was way worth the full investigation. Be sure to watch it all everyone. It keeps you on your toes.
Are you going to replay the game again one day?
Well, yknow, maybe.
Just listened on the way home. Slushie said seeing streets of fire made her want to be a person who was more into film as an art form. This episode of Remove Film from Tray made me want to be a person involved in a podcast. Hats off to the Trayers. Here's to many more to come.
Over in Blighty, they say Rafe Fiennes. Can't tell you why. Like they say "leftenant" for lieutenant.
I've heard this from another source since recording. Is it every Ralph or just this one?
