What size of spacers are you using ?

My 99 4runner SR5 has 238K and the engine and transmission still run smooth in 2023

I average 19mpg, mostly backroads. Those 3.4s are not horrible.

Seatbelts are the #1 rule before driving unless you want to kill yourself or others instead of wareing the starter out fix it

Y'all killing me. Lmao. In 2011 I got mine for $100. 12 years later I'm still riding it. It leaks a little oil. Needs the new seat cover put on and has been stripped sanded and repainted in 2013 looks pretty darn good. But it is for sale. It just got a brand new set of shinko 712 tires again. I've put 20k miles on it and it only has 38000 total. I'm in Michigan. $1400 would get the job done. I'd ride it to California in a heartbeat.

Why would this swap add any lift? Doesnt the 3rd gen Off Roads spec the same exact suspension as the 2nd gen Off Roads? Bilstein 4600 are stock on all gen Off Roads, no? Besides the fact that your old shocks were clapped out, what does pulling these off a 3rd gen accomplish over just buying new 2nd gen parts?

Reason the axel seal blew 3 times is because your diff breather is clogged. Replace diff breather, or better yet, relocate. Clogged breather is the cause. Blown axel seal is the symptom. Fix the cause.

Don't think you quite understand how the lift works in this third gen 4Runners The shocks aren't doing anything other than dampening movement The spring is where you are achieving your lift It doesn't matter if you have spacers or aftermarket strut Only way you're achieving lift is to force the lower control arm down the geometry doesn't change if you are trying to achieve lift with spacer or stiff spring

Amen exactly my experience w rough country spacer lift as well. I have said those exact words many times since mucking my way thru the problems of the whacked out suspension geometry that it leaves you with. I recommend just spending the money and do it the right way first time. I also went with freedom offroad UCA’s to compensate. Longer Sway bar end links as well as a longer cv axle.

I read on toyots 3g specs, gas capacity is 17.5 gal., but mine only fiil up with 13 gal as yours, Which one is it? And i get about 180 miles per tank on 265 70 16. Thanks

Always replace the rear diff breather before the axle seals - my axle seal was leaking but it was because the breather was clogged, a common problem.

Just got a stick shift 1996 3.4 with 230k miles for 9000 in near immaculate condition and it has been absolutely perfect. Luckily it was a California car so no rust at all and the guy had owned it for 10 years and replace all sorts of stuff and preformed religious preventive maintenance. These truck will last forever as long as you take car of them
