21:51 last spam i promise. you lost this encounter because in this game when aerial moves are shielded they become WAY worse on block and like 70% of them even become punishable. the move you did there is actually super good and you can tell because you werent punished for getting shielded and had the opportunity to block, but smart/experienced players are basically always gonna press on you with frame advantage if they shield your aerials. For this reason players often dont even end up using anti air normals/specials for most of their anti airs, but instead just try and flash a high shield to go for a punish (not to say anti air normals/specials arent super important, but reacting with shielding high is a lot easier especially since your first impulse is already gonna be reacting with a high block). The risk reward just ends up better (it's also a frame 1 anti air option which is important for a variety of reasons. for example, at 25:30 you could have high shielded that hyde and he would have definitely pressed cuz that hyde be slamming buttons and he would then have been punishable with a 5a or something). Also just a little bit later when you got caught by his 5a (22:08) the frame advantage on 5a is actually -2. it's just that he delay cancelled his 5a into another 5a (this is a universal mechanic. if you input 4aaa... you can chain however many 5as instead of going into smart steer. really strong option for pressure)

19:01 in a similar vein, if you dont know whenever you input throw you enter a state where youre locked out of teching throws for the next little bit (40 frames i think in this game, really big window just cuz people tend to option select with throw a lot so the devs wanted you to still have a reliable way to throw people). what happened is you input throw probably on wakeup, the throw got buried cuz you were in blockstun (not sure how much experience you have, but thats actually a super effective and strong technique called delay teching), he did 214 (command grab) and you were in throw tech lockout state and therefore couldn't do anything about it. This is actually signaled to both you and the other player by the red flashing on your character (although its also signaled because that grab is a goldthrow and usually has a big yellow flash on your screen and an extended throw tech window in order to make it more situational as an option unless it hits either in this way or as a counter hit or it hits someone shielding). This mechanic is called TRM (throw reject miss, named after its implementation in blazblue) if you wanna look into it more

16:33 if you dont know, you only get 3 bounces in a combo in this game (floor bounce/wall bounce, basically if their character bounces off the borders of the screen). your fireball was slightly delayed by accident in that combo, so he ended up scraping the ground which counted as a bounce and prevented your off the ground (otg) pickup (same thing happened at 23:57)
